Political gossip, slander and suspicions

-
If you fail to understand this age, is the age of satan and satan has possession of all of the kingdoms of the world.

Political division will continue and probably get worse. Until satan's man (king of the north, man of sin, beast from the sea) comes on the scene. Then satan will then give this person the kingdoms of the world in return for worship.

The earth will have a one world government at this time and this time will be of great distress for the earth and the people of the earth.

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

The only future time where politics and the problems associated with man rule government. Will cease will be when God brings in The Kingdom of God ruled by Jesus and the nation of Israel. Then the earth will know peace and political division will be silenced.

Until one more time satan will be released from his prison the revolt will be quickly destroyed and satan thrown into the lake of fire.

Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
I don't expect politics to change but Christians are supposed to evolve

God's Punishment/Judgment - EO View

I trust God will be merciful and just ( Romans 9:15). So if I accidentally run down an unfortunate person with my car, hit & run, I will be damned. The victim will be largely forgiven. If the victim is also guilty of grievous sin, like me, & unrepentant then that person will be damned like me. Like if that person embezzled money from a nursing home or something like that ( again, if the person was unrepentant of their grievous sin not as opposed to something petty like having stolen an apple from a grocery store). We can ponder so far & just leave it to God while hoping for mercy for ourselves & our neighbor ( see Matthew 7:1-12).

Dating apps have filter flaws

I explicitly put over and over that I do not want someone who drinks alcohol in any capacity nor do I want children. Every match I get are women who want one or both and it just gets old. I have walked away from apps and websites and the church is no better, when I even go.

Your filter would probably result to zero match.

So the app, to avoid discouraging you, gave you something. The makers of the app probably weighed in the option of showing a zero vs something (not perfectly matching the filter) and latter option gave better results so there you go. It's probably not a flaw but by design.

The Danger of "Keeping Sabbath."

just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

What is it in the above passage that you are having a conflict with? Is the part where it says apart from works?

Does having God’s righteousness imputed to you bother you? Would you rather do it yourself? I am trying to clarify where you stand.
No imputed righteousness doesn't bother me. I need it every day. Why would you even think that? The problem is you deny sanctification when God clearly says keeping the Sabbath is a sign He sanctifies us. As you dislike the Sabbath Exodus 31: 13 seems as if it is an anathema to you.

A Psychologist Unpacks The ‘Replaying Conversations’ Compulsion

1000003901.jpg

TOPIC:
"Replaying conversations involves dissecting every word and scrutinizing every movement of a past interaction in a cycle of analysis and reflection.

Human beings are wired to seek resolution and understanding, especially in social interactions. When a conversation leaves us feeling unsettled or unresolved, we instinctively replay it—meticulously examining every word, tone and gesture—in a desperate attempt to discover hidden meanings that may offer the closure we seek.

However, this pursuit of closure can become a double-edged sword, as our relentless search for answers may lead us down paths of speculation and conjecture, disconnected from the reality of the situation. Overanalyzing and overthinking only amplifies our uncertainty and distress, trapping us in a cycle of rumination. What begins as a search for clarity can quickly spiral into a cyclical thought-trap."
SOURCE

DISCUSSION:
I was curious if anyone else here struggles with replaying conversations in their mind, either of past conversations, or future conversations like I do. How do you overcome it? Does it tend to lead you into sin?

For me, it does tend to lead me towards arrogance, power and control. It usually happens when I'm alone, especially when driving a car. My way of overcoming this, is to play music while driving, which *always* diverts my attention off of that, and redirects it somewhere more positive. Specifically, any type of instrumental music can solve the problem... Whether it be jam music, electronic trance, or classical/baroque. But the key to it all, is coming to a level of self-awareness first, in that you recognize yourself falling down the rabbit hole.

Does anyone else experience this? Just curious.

IQ among Americans is falling

I suspect the IQ test isn't measuring modern ways of thinking. Think "back in my day". If a test were given that measured one's ability to use a slide rule, we'd almost all fail ... and mutter "so what, not relevant". Remember when teachers used to say "they won't let you use a calculator in college".

Anyway, ways of processing the world change ... probably faster than tests that measure that do.

Just a WAG.

I don't recall any IQ tests that judge your ability to use a tool, or even any that test on specific knowledge. Instead, they largely seem to be questions dealing with if you can use logic and reason, with some basic math thrown in -- things that haven't change in the last century.

Historicity of Mary vs significant inference -- ie not in the Bible?

I did not say that Catholics don't "believe" the doctrine - I said their own scholarship points out that they believe it no matter that they have no source for it in scripture and no historicity for it in the first century authors.
Catholics believe the Word of God whether passed down orally or in writing. The deposit of the faith ended with the death of the last Apostle. But what the Church can and does do is come to a greater understanding of the deposit of faith over time. The West and East established feast days, the feast of the Assumption started in the East. The understanding of the Assumption has been passed down through the Liturgy.

nope - we accept the 66 books of scripture based on a lot of evidence from the first century and in the NT text itself.
The list of 66 books is not found in the Bible itself, your evidence is extra-Biblical. Nor is there anything in Holy Scripture to indicate it would take 1400 years or so to come up with the "correct" list of books of the Bible.

Andrews / Strickland

Etta Strickland is my great grandmother. After her husband Radford death, she had a child with her Daughter Irene's husband Carlos Andrews, producing my grandfather James Strickland. So Etta Strickland is my great grandmother, and Carlos Andrews is my great grandfather ..meaning I have no Strickland blood, but Langford and Andrews blood.

A sound mind is a fleshy carnal mind.

A sound mind is misunderstood. People think that having mental illness means that you don't have sound judgment. However unbelievers dont have mental illness, so is their judgment sound?

The apostle Paul was actually of his mind at times and he had that thorn in the flesh. That's not exactly what people normally consider to be sound judgment.

We walk by faith not by sight. This means that it doesn't matter what our mind thinks or sees. My own mind is my enemy. I have mental struggles. I ignore my mind. Romans 8 said that nothing can separate us from God's love. Not even my broken mind. Not any illness. Nothing can rob us of God's love.

What are some things God wants Christians to do?

BROTHER receive the water of life and clean you of uncleanness. Does God rain on both the good and the bad? Is it free for everyone? Should a man leave his mother and father, and cling to his wife?

Did Christ die for the sin of unbelief ?

Subordinate is hardly the word I would use for God's will that all be saved through His Son by having faith in Him.
It might not be the word you’d use. But since you said God cannot do something until man does something, it’s an appropriate word.
