Conviction Ensures Trump Victory

I just love the smell of napalm in the morning. Don't you? https://myfox8.com/news/politics/nc...ump-with-independents-in-3-states-poll-finds/

What a time to be alive to experience democracy in action. Does anyone who is not a rabid Democrat think that was a fair trial? Let's list here the many reasons this will be overturned on appeal. We've reduced ourselves to a 3rd world banana republic, using the levers of power against political opponents.I suspect poll numbers and donations to Trump will rise after this display, which was a forgone conclusion. This will be glorious.

Did Jesus have siblings?

You say that we are told this, but who tells us this?
The Gospel of James (also known as the Protoevangelium of James), written about 150 AD, presents Joseph as an old man chosen by God to watch over the Virgin. Jesus' brothers are presented as Joseph's children by an earlier marriage.[70]

The History of Joseph the Carpenter, written in the 5th century and framed as a biography of Joseph dictated by Jesus, describes how Joseph, aged 90, a widower with four sons and two daughters, is given charge of the twelve-year-old Mary, who then lives in his household raising his youngest son James the Less (the supposed author of the Protoevangelium) until she is ready to be married at age 14½. Joseph's death aged 111, attended by angels and asserting the perpetual virginity of Mary, takes up approximately half the story.[71]

We surely need to make sure that we base our beliefs on God's word.
Yes, the book of James is not cannon. They do find contradictions so it is excluded. The Bible has to 100% harmonize and there can be no contradictions. Still people talk about not throwing the baby out with the bath water. Why do we not hear about Joseph after Jesus was 12 years old. If he was as young as Mary then He should have been alive when Jesus was 30 years old.

Did Christ die for the sin of unbelief ?

Christ died for the sin of unbelief because its a sin the Holy Spirit convicts of Jn 16:8-9

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Unbelief is the root sin of the world that Christ taketh away ! Jn 1:29

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. 3

Trump found guilty on all 34 counts

I said the Biden campaign. As in those who are part of the campaign who issue statements.

Okay. To what statement(s) by the Biden campaign (or members thereof) are you referring?
What I believe isn't important. I'm not talking about myself. I'm talking about zillions of people and how this could come across to them as election interference. Especially if/when the Biden campaign and supporters milk it to no end.

How can I stop myself being addicted to conspiracies ?

I have truly prayed about my addiction but God has truly laid it on my heart heavy about the shape of the earth.
So why should you think he'd do that. If you're a flat earther I don't share your view but let's assume it was true. What constructive thing would it produce in your life or in the lives of others? First you even tell those around you what you believe you've now been categorized in their minds as a crazy person. And what advancement to the Kingdom of God can be brought out of perusing trying to make people believe it. You'd lose a lot more than you ever would gain. And Jesus didn't tell us to go out into all the world and tell them the world is flat. He told us to preach the spiritual gospel to get them saved.

Dutch woman, 29, granted euthanasia approval on grounds of mental suffering

The problem with the government promoting suicide as a "treatment" for mental illness, is that this effectively promoting suicide contagion. If people see suicide as the normative response to suffering, they will be more likely to commit suicide themselves.

The reason that this item is ”news” is that the occurrence of someone jumping through all of the hoops and waiting while their case is publicly adjudicated is exceedingly rare.
So getting all slippery-slope on this case is silly, at best.

Trump found guilty on all 34 counts

The curious thing about many Trump followers, is that they seem to
think that if they vote him into the presidency again, then THAT will
prove that he was innocent of the criminal felony charges.

This is a flawed argument.

Regardless of how many Americans vote that someone is guilty or
innocent of crimes, the determination of guilt or innocence is made
in due process, under our fair rule of law. The only opinions that
matter, are the final votes of the jury.

The idea that if Trump followers vote him into the presidency, then
Trump will be vindicated, is a mistaken view.

It is also a fallacious argument that all jurors have personal biases,
therefore there cannot be a fair rule of law. A fair rule of law is
based on sound definitions of crimes, a sound definition of what
relevant evidence is, and reasoning about this relevant evidence
as applied to a specific criminal charge. Personal biases, are not
involved in this process.

(That Trump could not come up with sound evidence that the 2020
election was stolen through fraud, and that Trump could not come up with
evidence that he had NOT committed fraud with regard to his campaign
finances, is a serious problem for Trump. That the prosecution had 20 witnesses
testifying about the matter of Trump being involved in fraud regarding
trying to deceive voters in the Stormy Daniels affair, is a real problem for
Trump. This is not a matter of personal biases. It's a matter of relevant
evidence, and the rule of law.)

---------- ----------

Also, the strange view by Trump that, if he wins (in a presidential vote,
or in a court of law), then the system works perfectly, but if he loses,
then the system is horrendously corrupt, is incoherent.

If Trump really believed this, then he would be running for president on
a platform of establishing a NEW rule of law in America, and a NEW
way of voting in America. But he isn't.
---------- ----------

Christians in America, and especially Republicans, should have ditched Trump
a couple years ago.

Reaching for more and more ridiculous conspiracy theories, in order to try to justify
the claims of Trump, is a disaster supported by mere gossip. Christians should not
be involved in this sort of conspiracy theory gossip.

Pope apologizes for using ‘homophobic’ slang

That would be a problem.

I wonder what the slang is.
IF this is true, I do not see how he is for the gay lifestyle... as so many claim.
It may sound counter-intuitive, but it is not unusual for people to have a love-hate relationship with significant aspects of their personhood. A homosexual might be strongly defensive of "gay rights and equivalence" while at the same time hating gayness in himself and others. I have heard members of minority groups take derogatory slang words used by their enemies against them in insult, and then use those very terms of insult to insult one another - either jokingly or seriously. It is sad, even tragic, even betraying a danger in some toward suicide.

Is it okay to eat pork?

Jer 31:
31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,
What does Israel and Judah have to do with the Gentiles? Even the disciples did not understand that.

Acts 10 45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles.

How can I stop myself being addicted to conspiracies ?
Let's go to your next statement,
As I grew older I would buy any conspiracy book I could get my hands ....
Maybe that might be the thing to encourage you to reconsider doing this....what I mean you know people write books and probably embellish a lot of what they're saying for effect. Truth of what takes place in life for the most part isn't usually as exciting as conspiracy books paint the picture of. Like you said yourself having no restraint from pulling away from them suggest the writers did a good job to peak your passion.

Is it okay to eat pork?

If you can avoid eating pork and shrimp, good for you :)
Good for your health. Some pork cuts are high in saturated fatty acids, so-called bad fats. Excess saturated fats can increase your risk of developing heart problems, obesity, and other long-term illnesses.

Here it comes again

Remember that Noah was neither a Jew nor a Gentile.
Everyone descended from Adam and Eve in Eden is "Jewish". Although I understand what you are saying that Judah was a descendant of Noah. Gentiles are not descended from the Adam in Eden. Everyone is descended from the Adam we read about in Chapter one. Even the Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. This is also what the science of DNA shows us. Of course the Y chromosome Aaron or the Cohan Gene is the most popular because it is the most pure. Still in Revelation we are told God has preserved 12,000 each from all 12 tribes. Not just Judah and Israel.

Normandt' meditations

173. To walk in faith

If there are people who can help in one area or another, mechanics, caretaking, fraternal listening, helping one of the members in one of his needs, according to their talents, the help will be appreciated and they will receive a hundredfold from the Lord.

It would be easier to have about twenty people who offer their services than just a few who do everything. That doesn’t prevent that the generosity is at hand when there is an important work to accomplish in the churches. Often people give themselves without counting in big events. Many people offer their services discreetly, without anyone being aware. All these people are generous.

To leave our task, when there’s no one to assume it and to take over, for example, is to take risks, it’s mortgaging the immediate future of the responsibilities and the activities of evangelization in the church.

Let’s think of other people who could share our tasks, while we still have the capacity to do them. In this way, if something happens to us, a loss of health, an accident or a new job, a new opportunity for example, we know that the mission will continue. In addition, it allows others to walk in faith as they offer their services.

Trump found guilty on all 34 counts

I think the fact that so many, like the Biden campaign itself, have made this thing look so much like election interference, the opposite effect of what you're predicting is going to take place.
Why would you come to that conclusion? Biden has said nothing about the trial as far as I know.

It has been Trump who has made that claim over and over again, even after the Guilty verdict. Why do you believe it?

Fitness/Diet Accountability Thread

I had to go to the Social Security office yesterday and sit around for a few hours, waiting, so I didn't do any exercise.

I used my vibration plate for about ten minutes and I did some Indian club swings for about another ten minutes, plus some yoga. I'll probably go for a walk this morning, as well.

Top Republicans, led by Trump, refuse to commit to accept 2024 election results

A new dilemma for the Republican Party after the conviction of their candidate for nominaton: should that nomination now go ahead, or should a new candidate for the Presidency be found?

The VP choice will be made in the light of that decision.
