Short story...4 different polls all have Trump leading.

Biden continues to decline.

I'd call this a powderkeg.

Thoughts?
Being a bit misleading posting a 4 month old video as if this was current/recent, aren't we? Hope that wasn't intentional on your part. We seem to have this happen here regarding polls between Trump and Biden in another thread as well.

Why are polls from Oct and Nov of last year a "powderkeg?" Let me guess, this was passed off on some type of social media as current and you decided to re-post it here?

I LOL at the title of your OP

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets it that the liberal media LIE. CNN has successfully been sued more than once for lying.

In any case, the media all used to use the term ..(OK, maybe not all but some) "the big lie" in reference to the notion that 2020 was stolen. Now that we see something like 65% of Americans think thesame... Maybe this is another thing they are no longer able to lie about?

Have they used that term Big lie re 2020 lately? I wouldn't know. I avoid them like the plague.

In any case, it is nothing short of astounding that Trump is ahead, despite the bogus court cases and everything else thrown at him...

Yay, Trump!

which means

Yay, AMERICA!

:)

Good grief...

This is the second time I have done this with you lol....

I read 1 article, tried to find it later, thought the video was for the same article because it was marked "viewed" from last year.

This was the article I read...

You have Trump winning across multiple polls, historic increases amongst minority voters, and the upside CNN is trying to sell is an increase in white voters for Biden.

I don't think that the left understands that they are struggling with accurate polling of white voters ever since they painted all white Trump supporters as bigots and white supremacists. In short, when white people are threatened with job loss over who they vote for....you can't expect to shove a mic in their face or call them up and get a straight answer.

As for powder keg....yeah....wouldn't you describe it that way? What do you think will happen if Trump gets control of the DOJ, FBI, DHS, HSI, NIA, CIA, etc?

He might go after Biden....but more likely he'll go after every Democrat still on Capitol Hill. He could easily throw Biden in jail for the rest of his natural life on just the classified docs. Special prosecutor concluded there's ample evidence that Biden kept documents intentionally (the personal nature of those classified documents and their relation with his job and choices as VP, along with the reason he kept them) and disseminated those documents to a citizen with no security clearance (he literally gave copies to his autobiographer) are crimes that carry up to 5 years for each count of possession and 10 years for dissemination.

Why wouldn't he do it? Because the special prosecutor thinks Biden's amnesia/good intentions defense will work? Wray, Garland, Mayorkas....they'll all be burning hard drives and paper trails by September if they're smart.

I don't know who is running the Biden campaign, but I can say it's bizarre to watch them hammer down on something that hasn't been working for the past 3.25 years. Painting Trump as a criminal hasn't been successful so far....and that appears to be the general strategy going into what would typically be the height of the campaign season.

Honestly, what do you see happening if Trump wins reelection? You think Letitia James and Fani Willis won't be facing any investigations? Unless...

1. Things turn significantly in Biden's favor by late August.

Or...

2. The CIA is planning Kennedy 2.0.

I expect to see a lot of folks resigning and/or fleeing from both sides of the aisle.

My thoughts are that Biden actually did really well with the Israeli -Palestinian conflict. A lot of Republicans I've talked to agree. Not that any of us would ever vote for him, but we're proud that he ignored many progressives within his own party, and went with the Evangelicals of the Christian Right instead.

Job well done, Biden!

Personally, I tend to look at these polls. What it tells me is that the result, nationally, is within the margin of error. I think a lot will happen prior to November; Trump's trials, Biden's gaffes, etc. In fact, I suspect Arizona will definitely go Biden after the Arizona Supreme Court used a territorial law to make almost all abortions illegal. Neither Trump nor Biden seem particularly well, at least to me, so I think either or both could have a major medical issue that might badly hurt them in the polls. I'm once again reminded of the Chinese Curse about living in interesting times. The next six months will definitely be "interesting times," likely in all the worst ways.

Fair enough...

I'm not sure exactly what Biden did...I know he sent some aid to Palestinians and some special forces to shoot Palestinians.

But hey, to each his own.

Personally, I tend to look at these polls.

Rasmussen is probably the closest thing to a trustworthy poll there.

Polling isn't an easy thing to do correctly....Gallup and Pew have stayed true to the methodology, Rasmussen is a close third though they sometimes flub the questions. YouGov is essentially self selected last I checked and therefore basically just trash. Winnepac I've heard of but I can't remember if they're any good.

Regardless, I'd suggest a couple things...

1. National presidential polls have been off since Hillary v Trump. People pretend like they have no idea why it keeps happening but it seems pretty simple to me....demonize a group.of voters and they either pretend to be undecided or lie.

2. Consider where these poll numbers were last election around this time.

3. When you consider that not only is he up...he's got record percentages of demographics Republicans don't typically get.

I think a lot will happen prior to November; Trump's trials, Biden's gaffes, etc.

Do you think Trump’s cases will hurt him?

In fact, I suspect Arizona will definitely go Biden after the Arizona Supreme Court used a territorial law to make almost all abortions illegal.

I didn't hear about that....

I'm inclined to think AZ goes to Trump just because of the border.

Neither Trump nor Biden seem particularly well, at least to me, so I think either or both could have a major medical issue that might badly hurt them in the polls.

That's the powder keg scenario lol. One of those guys has a stroke and their party has to float a Duke to the top of the bowl? There's going to be unhappy voters.

I'm once again reminded of the Chinese Curse about living in interesting times. The next six months will definitely be "interesting times," likely in all the worst ways.

I'm reminded of Chinese spy balloons because you just mentioned that lol.

This Trumpish attitude that "if my candidate lost there must have been cheating" is Un-American.
I don't know about you, but I have clear memories of Democratic politicians such as Hillary Clinton calling Trump an illegitimate president after she lost. She said that repeatedly. However, she did not attempt any legal methods in 2016, which Trump used in 2020, to contest any of the election results. Nevertheless, Hillary Clinton was not the first Democratic politician to say that there was cheating, or illegitimatacy, in an election.

Edit-

Biden is at that phase in life where you go downhill almost as fast as you climbed uphill in the first couple of years of your life. I simply can't imagine him finishing his term. If we were in a sane world, he'd have been removed in the first year. But there is no way they can cheat him into office by November. He's better now than he will be then. And I believe they are in "scorched earth" mode. That is, they pull out all the stops and either they win or nobody wins. We are in really scary times. Hence the last line of my posting signature.

And just to reiterate: The Biden we see today is not the Biden we will be seeing in October and November. The same is technically true of Trump, but only one of them is on the RAPID downhill slide. I don't think anyone with an IQ over 84 will vote "for" Biden. Any vote he gets will simply be a vote "against" Trump. The battle here is against those who love Trump or at least want a mentally capable president, and those who hate trump to the point that they would vote for Satan himself against Trump. And if the latter group is that large, we have a much more serious problem in the US than who will be the next president.

Somebody cheated last time and AZ went to Joe Bribem

I can see your new so just fyi...nicknames like that are often against the rules and some posters here report other posters like it's a paid job.

All the usual swing states will most likely cheat again and we'll get another 4 years of creeping socialism

The risk with that is how many people would believe the fraud happened...

No I think that if the former president squeaks out a win....his car, airplane, boat, or whatever may have a little accident and his VP pick will do as told and be hailed as a hero for it.

If he doesn't, Harris is the perfect replacement. She also has nothing going on upstairs, and that's ideal for the left. She will be the rubber stamp in office just like Biden is.

The battle here is against those who love Trump or at least want a mentally capable president, and those who hate trump to the point that they would vote for Satan himself against Trump. And if the latter group is that large, we have a much more serious problem in the US than who will be the next president.

Votes for Biden in 2020 were mostly votes against Trump...and the media manipulation involved was unprecedented. You had riots and a "defund the police" movement perpetrated by Marxist frauds that never saw any punishment. You had non-stop covid anxiety pushed by the media and pointless mandates and advice. You had non-stop threats of violent white supremacists lurking around every corner....just out of sight....waiting for the perfect opportunity to create a fascist state. All this was laid at Trump's feet and he still got the second most votes of any president except 1.

What did Biden run on? Obama nostalgia and not being Trump. A "return to normalcy" with a guy experienced at reaching across the aisle to get things done. Sure, he had some viral moments that made him look a little far gone....we all remember Cornpop and his rusty straight razor...but otherwise, Biden was able to run from his basement and people believed that he was at least going to do better than Trump.

What became clear after year 1 was Joe's lights are on but no one is home. There was no reaching across the aisle....just a lot of infighting for 2 years from the majority Dems who still don't understand the problem they have with their party. There's no big tent/pro-science/workers advocating party anymore. They had to fall back on the only other thing they're known for....activism. Unfortunately, feminists, Muslims, the gay alphabet club, social justice larpers, environmentalists, and radical black liberationists/supremacists, indignant indigenous activists don't share any common values. You might find one or two any couple of groups share....but without any common or core set of values....they don't have any reason to work together once they all have a seat at the table. Gay people want public schools to get kids into drag and genderfluids.....and Muslims hate that. The radical black supremacists realized they don't really want any attention given to Latino or Asian issues....so they stopped using POC (people of color) which only excluded whites and changed it to BIPOC (black and indigenous people of color) so they could exclude whites, latinos, and asians....not that they care about indigenous issues, they don't. That's just the smallest group they can safely include and ignore so they aren't obviously black supremacists advocating for only black people. Trans activists jumped the "oppression" ladder by making themselves victims of everyone and all society.....and accordingly began demanding special privileges for just themselves. Israel v Palestine exposed the gaping hole in their narrative about hating fascists and nazis by supporting antisemitic terrorists and chasing Jewish students around the same campuses they were chasing conservative speakers like Ben Shapiro and Milo Yiannopoulos out of just a couple of years earlier.

I mean, the sheer number of issues the left has flip-flopped on is astounding.

They went from...
1. Thinking the best way to fight racism is teach children its made-up, unimportant, and it's someone's character that matters, race doesn't tell you anything about anyone....to think about race all the time, consider how your actions are racist, believe every claim of racism (from non-whites) and to correct for problems of racism in the past we should racially discriminate against white men today. Not only should we consider what a person's race is in all interactions, but we can broadly assume things about people based on their race.

2. From thinking Nazis and fascist antisemites are bad enough to justify physical violence against and the removal of civil rights like freedom of speech. While they only supported the government involving itself in certain cases, it was perfectly acceptable for individuals or mobs to do these things to those whom they felt were acceptable targets....to supporting, funding, arming, and training actual nazis in the Ukraine...and supporting antisemitic terrorists in Gaza who committed brutal acts of terrorism against jews in the hopes of inspiring support for the destruction of Israel and genocide of all Jewish people living there, and chasing around Jewish students on US college campuses.

3. Claiming to care about the spread of misinformation during an election year by Russians and other domestic actors....not caring about the spread of misinformation by Biden's own campaign regarding his son's laptop, or claiming election security/integrity laws passed by Republicans are designed to prevent minorities from voting despite many of the exact same laws already existing in Democratic Party strongholds like NYC and no evidence of them preventing minorities from voting.

4. From caiming bodily health is a right and everyone has the ability to choose what is right for them.....to claiming untested vaccines should be mandated or you are guilty of killing others from risk of transmission despite no testing done on the vaccines to prove they prevent transmission.

5. From Innocent until proven guilty to believe all women.

6. From even presidents aren't above the law to....well it's different when Biden did it, he cooperated with the investigation he ordered, and even though he's definitely guilty of illegal possession of classified documents and illegal dissemination of military secrets, he's old, unsure what day it is, and well intentioned so....no accountability required.

7. From there is no illegal immigration crisis, furthermore illegal immigrants are a boon to the economy....to NIMBY or, for the love of God please stop sending these illegals to our welcoming sanctuary cities where they're draining resources and we've had to cut funding for all public services.

8. From we believe in science and facts...to men and women are just identities that can mean whatever you want, they've got nothing to do with biological reality, they're just opinions you have about yourself and those are never wrong.

I could continue but I don't want to do another 5 posts. I'd like to think they'd learn from some of this stiff if their news sources ever held themselves accountable....they might recall some of these wild swings in position and argument but it has been fun watching these "news" outlets implode once they abandoned news for propaganda.

Buzzfeed News.
Vice.
CNN
HuffPo

I'm surprised NYT survived the 1619 Project...selling it as an educational text certainly didn't hurt despite it lacking educational value.

So if we were to describe the problem with the Democratic Party and left in general....I'd say it's actually pretty simple....they have no leaders or leadership. Clinton was arguably the last one. The left saw an opportunity to break with their "everyman" working class past that focused on middle class and lower class citizens and now goes for the same corporate fat cats the right does. The difference? The right has a set of values (the founders' vision of the US, individual rights and freedoms, the choice to make as much or as little with your life as you choose, and of course, Christian morality). We need not debate whether or not they live up to these values...I think they frequently don't...but they aspire to them. The left only has complaints (the founders' vision of the US, individual freedoms and rights, the choice to pursue opportunities or not inevitably creating inequality, Christian morality). It doesn't actually have any values except submitting to the loudest complaints and the government seeking to serve the loudest complainers. Despite claiming to value equity...this creates and competition for political power that is an endless fight between political interests groups and activists. In a democracy where officials are elected...it's extremely hard to both admit mistakes and correct them. Portland legalized small quantities of drugs of all sorts, based on Portugal, a situation that the voters knew nothing about, and it was an unmitigated disaster. Drug use, drug trafficking, addiction, overdoses, crime....both violent and property all increased along with homelessness. Nobody will vote for the person who says "I thought this was a bad idea.. but I ran on doing it because that's what the people wanted....turns out it was a bad idea, so I'm going to reverse these bad laws and return to the war on drugs....it turns out that was a much better idea even if it wasn't perfect."

They ran Biden because they had no one else. Now, they don't have anyone really. Is the Republican Party in trouble? Yes. Are it's problems as existential? No. Plenty of new politicians that seem to appeal to both Christians and those tired of government corruption are increasingly popular on the right. DeSantis is a good example in spite of his failed campaign....campaigns are difficult, Trump lost his first one pretty badly as well.

There have been multiple lawsuits in our state and at the end of the day, it's very clear who is lying. Are you joining those who continually revive the big lie?
