The Theory of Evolution neither glorifies and honors God nor disparages or dishonors Him.
Creation brings honor and glory to God. We should look, read, study and evaluate HIS creation every chance we get. I love geology. I love to examine and study the rocks. They have a story to tell and you can read them like a book. I have a rock in my hand right now that has many layers. It measures 2 1/4 inches and has 30 or 40 layers. It came from a beach so it has been rounded or polished by the water. It pretty much looks like a rough egg from a chicken. The color is brown and that comes from oxygen. So the layers had to have been formed after there were plants that produced oxygen. AFTER the great oxygen explosion.

What? I think you misunderstood my previous post from a few weeks ago.

Also, geology is influential in my thinking as well, and I'm not sure exactly why you'd bring it up in connection to whether or not the Theory of Evolution glorifies or dishonors God.

There were yec people trying to defend a 6,000 year old earth but they do not seem much interested in that now.

There are not passages of Scriptures teaching that the Lord God used macro evolution to create life on earth.
You miss the point. The Bible does NOT contradict science period the end.
You may think that science contradicts the Bible but TE says otherwise.
You want me to prove this, that or the other. I want you to disprove.
Show me a contradiction between Science and the Bible.

I think TE brings more honor and glory to God than any of the others creation theories. Because TE goes into a LOT more detail.

Is Theistic Evolution teaching that there was macro-evolution? In other words, does Theistic evolution teach that over the course of millions of years, humans, monkeys, apes, and other primates can all be traced genetically back to a single species? If so, then that teaching is not at all supported by the Book of Genesis.

I still believe that the earth is only about 6,000 years old.

Theistic Evolution follows the Bible. On the third day: "God said, “Let the earth bring forth vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each bearing fruit with seed according to its kind.” This evolved into what we read about on the fifth and sixth day. I just did a post on Sexual Dimorphism and how Eve or female came from the side of Adam or male. The two were one and God divided them so that He could reunite them as an example of The Bride of Christ and Jesus.

Clearly BOTH Science and the Bible talk about a common ancestor. Adam says: "bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man.” Mary descended from Eve. Genesis 3:15 "And I will make enemies Of you and the woman, And of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

The Bible tells us that God created Adam from the dust of the earth. Science goes into a LOT of detail on that dust and how it came from the stars.

The Bible contains various passages that metaphorically or poetically connect humanity to the stars

Psalm 8:3-4:

  • "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?"
  • A reflection on the majesty of creation and humanity's place within it
David did not know what we know today about how we come from the stars. That is where our elements are made.

We eat the plants and the dust or elements in the ground become us. We could not exist on day 5 & 6 if God had not crated the plants on day 3. Even our oxygen comes from the plants through photosynthesis. WE see the great oxygen explosion in Geology. Every breath we take. They say sometimes just breathing is enough. For those of us that have been on oxygen we can appreciate every breath.

I could not disagree more.
According to what the Bible clearly teaches, I do not see any evidence in the scriptures that the Lord God used evolution to create life. God is the Creator, not the Evolutioner.
Thanks V.

Consider the following verses mean precisely what they say. God empowered the ground and water to generate life. It is His power and His Word that enabled it. But I believe God created a "life bringing forth" machine with these statements.

Genesis 1:11 KJV
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

These verses illustrate that the power in His Word enabled the sea to bring forth life:

Genesis 1:20-21 KJV
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Again, the power of God's Word empowers the earth to bring forth life:

Genesis 1:24-25 KJV
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

We ask the question: "What brought forth life?"
The honest answer is, "The earth and water brought forth life by the power of God's Word."

Thanks
Peace

Let the earth bring forth grass
I wonder how the dead can produce the living, the entire universe started off the size of a seed and nothing has been added from the beginning.

I like Is 55 :)

Isaiah 55:11 KJV
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
