Paul's : Doctrine #1

Reader...

The Apostle Paul's teaching regarding our "Soteriology".. is very unique.

He teaches that the Law and commandments, show us who we are in relation to God's Holiness.
And now that the Law, this HOLY MIRROR has let us see ourselves as compared to God's Holiness... we recognize what we are..

This is the exact same thread made in another forum by the name "Behold". Word for word, copied and pasted.

Here is my response to that thread.

"Why does God want us to see His Instruction in righteousness? According to Scriptures it's so we can "DO" the following.

2 Chron. 7: 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from "their" wicked ways; "then" will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Is. 55: 7 Let the wicked forsake "his way", and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Ez. 18: 30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you "a new heart and a new spirit": for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

I could go on and on. Of course, the deceiver would say, "This is the old covenant, and we are no longer expected to turn away from our sins, Jesus does that for us".

But let's hear what Paul actually teaches. And keep in mind that "Repent" doesn't mean simply to recognize our sin, but to turn from them.

Acts 24: 13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me. 14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing "all things" which are written in the law and in the prophets:

Acts 26: 19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: 20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works "meet for repentance."

Eph. 4: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; (Just as the Spirit of Crist inspired Ezekiel to teach us.)

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (How can we know what God's Righteousness and God's Holiness is unless we hear His Laws?

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

There are too many Scriptures in the bible to post them all which describes for those Seeking God's Truth, which clearly explain why God's Law exists.

So God's Law isn't for the purpose of comparing ourselves to God, it's showing us how we can become Perfect, even as God is perfect. This is what Paul teaches. Paul understood the instruction from the Rock of Israel, the Word of God which became flesh. "Be Ye Perfect" even as God is perfect. Of course, the deceiver would say, "Are you perfect Paul? Are you perfect Studyman", in their attempt to turn us away from Christ's instruction. But Paul and I have the same reply to these "many" who come in Christ's Name.

Phil. 3: 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We press towards perfection. Casting away all of our transgressions. Becoming, not hears of God's Law, but "doers" as Jesus instructed. This is the whole duty of man, as it is written.

Ecc. 12: 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I'll continue in another post.

To which "Behold" replied;

We press towards perfection. Casting away all of our transgressions.
You dont "cast away your Transgressions". @Studyman

You allow Jesus to die for them on the Cross. (By Faith).

You should do that, asap, @Studyman , as then you'll stop trying to cast them away.

Here is the verse that gets you there.

Jesus said...."You must be born again", and water baptism, can't do that for you., nor can commandment keeping or trying to "cast away your Transgressions".

Salem Media Ceases Distribution of 2000 Mules Film and Book because "representations made to us" by Convicted Felon Dinesh D'Souza were false

Salem Media Statement

In publishing the film and the book, we relied on representations made to us by Dinesh D’Souza and True the Vote, Inc. (“TTV”) that the individuals depicted in the videos provided to us by TTV, including Mr. Andrews, illegally deposited ballots. We have learned that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has cleared Mr. Andrews of illegal voting activity in connection with the event depicted in 2000 Mules.

Right-wing media company Salem apologizes, stops distributing 2020 election conspiracy film ‘2000 Mules’ after lawsuit

Salem Media Group, the right-wing talk radio network owner, issued a public apology and said it would stop distributing a discredited 2020 election conspiracy theory film after a Georgia man wrongly accused of voter fraud sued the company for defamation.

The Georgia man, Mark Andrews, said in his 2022 lawsuit that “2000 Mules,” a film and book by far-right activist Dinesh D’Souza contained a string of bogus claims about the 2020 election, leading to threats of violence against him and his family.

The apology from Salem came as part of a larger settlement to the lawsuit filed by Andrews.
We have learned that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has cleared Mr. Andrews of illegal voting activity in connection with the event depicted in 2000 Mules.
cleared by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation? No offense .... but I don't trust a "fox guarding the chicken house"?

We never really know who is and is not telling the truth for sure. We do know .... government has no problem propagating falsehoods ... same with individuals. Hard to say with a lot of things these days.

Protecting the Unborn

Hello folks. Today's devotional will be on protecting the unborn. The Bible is pretty clear-cut and self-explanatory on this topic.

Date
June 1, 2024 | Protecting the Unborn
Verse
Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV): "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV): "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Exodus 20:13 (NIV): "You shall not murder."
Explanation
These three passages from the Bible highlight different aspects of the value and sanctity of human life, particularly in relation to the unborn.

Psalm 139:13-16 emphasizes God's intricate and intentional creation of every human being, even before birth. The passage expresses the wonder and awe of being made in God's image and knit together in the womb. This understanding of human life as a creation of God underscores the belief that every life is precious and deserving of protection.

Jeremiah 1:5 reveals God's intimate knowledge and plan for each person's life before they are born. God sets apart Jeremiah as a prophet, demonstrating God's sovereignty and intention for every individual. This passage further emphasizes the significance of unborn life and the importance of protecting it.

Exodus 20:13, one of the Ten Commandments, forbids taking an innocent life. This includes the unborn, as they are also considered human beings deserving of protection.
Societal Relevance
These passages call Christians to recognize and protect the inherent value and dignity of human life, especially the unborn. In the modern world, politicians and media discuss abortion as being a good thing, such as when a woman may not have the resources to bear a child, or if the child has a chance of a degenerative disease. However, the Bible states that all lives are sacred to God, and there are more ethical alternatives to abortion, such as adoption or Christian counseling.

While it is important to protect the unborn, it is also crucial to consider the well-being of the mother. In cases of life-threatening complications for both mother and fetus such as an ectopic pregnancy (where the fetus forms inside of a Fallopian tube instead of implanting on the uterus wall), it is essential to prioritize the health and safety of both individuals. This can be achieved through advance medical care, ethical treatment, and compassionate support.
Artificial womb technologies, such as the development of external wombs (article link), could potentially save lives in the future by providing a viable alternative for babies with severe medical conditions, allowing the fetus to develop outside the womb while receiving necessary medical care and nutrients. However, it is essential to consider the ethical implications of these technologies and ensure that they align with the Christian values of protecting the sanctity of human life and preserving the dignity of both the mother and the unborn child.

LGBT Activists Spend $15 Million Reminding Voters about Biden’s Most Unpopular Agenda

Sure - if you change the definition of a word to be "whatever you want it to be" - then there are no differences between any of the words we use.

Do you believe that a man being legally recognized as a woman makes them a woman?
Legally, yes.
Why do you believe this is relevant to a discussion about sex and marriage?
There was speculation that the Supreme Court would keep same-sex marriage in a different legal category than tradition male-female marriage when the Obergefell (et. al.) case was under consideration, which would have reinstated the “separate-but-equal” doctrine that the 1954 court repudiated, in Brown.

Understanding the Trinity

The apostle Thomas confessed:

My Lord and my G-d! John 20:28

He was thus the first of the disciples to recognize the divine nature of Christ.

It took centuries for Christianity to explicitly formulate its belief in the Lord Jesus as being of the same essence as G-d, the Father. But one thing was a pivotal point on the path to finding the truth from the beginning:

The resurrection of Jesus. Without it, our faith would be null and void. Thomas questioned it. It is worth taking a close look at it.

Belief in the triune G-d is a core part of the Christian faith. It does not abolish monotheism. A G-d in three "persons" who permeate each other and are one; cf. John 10:30, are one G-d, not three. At the same time, the doctrine of Christ, the Son of G-d and Son of Man, and the doctrine of salvation depend on belief in the Trinity.

Only because He was G-d's son could He redeem the world.

Christ is G-d from G-d, light from light, true G-d from true G-d

as the Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople formulated after long discussions, and not with Hellenistic, that is, with terms of Greek philosophy, but with biblical terms.

Trump supporters call for riots and violent retribution after verdict

If 0.01% of these people act out on their thoughts, then this violence would be perpetuated. So, these guys should not be posting actions for violence, cos it takes just one person to commit a violent crime. But yes, law enforcement hopefully keeps an eye on these people.

Romans 12:19 (ESV): Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

Matthew 26:52 (ESV): Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword."

Psalm 11:5 (ESV): The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
Oh, Agreed. No one should be talking like that. There are a lot of deranged people out there that like to imagine they are bigger than they are.

Hearing the voice of God on certain topics

Hi,

So after some observations, some claims they hear the voice of God, but now I have my doubts, sometimes some of them say that to put themselves above you, they kinda imply: " I can hear the voice of God you not, so you better listen to me"

I am honest to myself, I never really heard the voice of God, what I do is, I read the bible and listen to other people and then I formulate what I think the voice of God is. Some things are easy, do not steal, do not fornicate, do not murder etc, some things are not that easy, like the 3 topics mentioned below.

Topic: how should the church be organized ? what is God's opinion regarding this ?
possibilities are: elder board, one man at the top decides everything, democratic meaning the members of the church decides etc etc.
Each type of church organisation claiming they heard the voice of God, really I have my doubts now.

Personally I think elder board is best church organisation.

Another Topic: Should churches publish financial transparancy what happens to the collected money ? what is God opinion regarding this ?

You see, this topic, you also have people claiming to hear the voice of God regarding this.

Another topic: which denomination is right, which denomination has heard the voice of God ? Every denomination claiming they have heard right from God, the others wrong.

Br,
I believe the voice of God is the bible in it's entirety along with the teaching/understanding from the Holy Spirit .... His written word contains everything the Lord wanted mankind to know .... from creation until re-creation of the new heaven and earth. We live in a marvelous time having the benefit of a long history of which helps us understand the future as well ... as there is nothing new under the sun.

Was polygamy a sin?

A man could have more than one wife in the OT, Deuteronomy 21:

15 If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love,
Deuteronomy 25:

5 If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead man shall not be married outside the family to a stranger. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her and take her as his wife and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
The brother of the dead man could already have a wife of his own and take on one more wife.

2 Samuel 12:

8 I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more.
God permitted David to have multiple wives and gave him wives.

What about in the NT?

English Standard Version 1 Timothy 3:

2 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach.
1 Corinthians 7:

2 But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.
Polygamy was permitted in the OT but discouraged in the New. Matthew 19:

8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.

Sword-wielding Utah man arrested for attacking churchgoers at worship service

Utah police have arrested a man who entered a Catholic church during Sunday morning worship and reportedly attacked parishioners at random by punching them with his fists and striking them with a wooden sword.

Chandler Grillone, 31, was arrested on Sunday morning after he started attacking people at the Cathedral of the Madeline in Salt Lake City, reportedly doing so at random.

Grillone is facing two felony charges of aggravated assault, a felony charge of property damage below $5,000, a misdemeanor assault charge, and charges of disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer, according to ABC affiliate KTVX.

Continued below.
This Grillone dude might want to take a look at Matthew 26, and repent to God, as well as serve a jail sentence of at least a year.

Matthew 26:52 (ESV): "Then Jesus said to him, 'Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.'"

Cough cough. AOC, cough cough the ‘squad’. Cough cough.

Remember the senior Democrat standing front of the Supreme Court threatening retribution Jurist by name if they voted against his desires. Then mobs surrounding those jurist homes and an armed assassin intercepted on his way to the home.

New GOP efforts to make it harder to vote

Kansas Constitution does not include a right to vote, state Supreme Court majority says

“It simply is not there,” [Justice] Stegall wrote.

I mean, maybe he's right. Sounds like something the voters of Kansas should fix.

Oh wait, Kansas is one of the far-too-many states that doesn't allow voters to put state initiatives on the ballot.

I guess they'll have to rely on the legislators to fix this oversight.
The US constitution doesn’t afford that right, either.

Understanding the Trinity

The doctrine of the Trinity states

A: There is one G-d.
B. The Father is G-d, the Son is G-d, the Holy Spirit is G-d.
C. The three are different.

The mystery of it is beyond our understanding, however, the eternal G-d has left some examples in creation that reflect His nature.

One of these is the human family.

If one replaces G-d, Father, Son and Holy Spirit with human, man, woman and child, it is evident that the family functions in the same way.

The following can be said about a family

1. there is only one species HOMO-SAPIENS (only one human nature - man); Gen 1:27 .2,8 .5,1 .6,7; Gen 4:32

2. man is human - HOMO SAPIENS (has human nature)
3. woman is human - HOMO SAPIENS (has human nature)
4. child is human - HOMO SAPIENS (has human nature)

5. man is not woman
6. woman is not child
7. child is not man

8. man is head of woman; 1 Corinthians 11:3; Ephesians 5:23
9. woman comes from man; 1 Corinthians 11:8
10. child comes from man and woman

11. man and woman are one (one body); Gen 2:24; Mt 19:5; Mk 10:8; 1 Cor 6:16; Eph 5:31
12. both ‘persons’ are to be honoured; Eph. 6:2

All sentences are true.

Conclusion:

Man is a ‘person’
Woman is a ‘person’
Child is a ‘person’

Man, woman and child(ren) form a family.

From this it follows:

Father is a ‘person’
Son is a ‘person’
Holy Spirit is a ‘person’

Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one and form a unity; Mt:28:19; 1 Cor:12:4-6; 2 Cor:13:13; Eph 4:4-6; Hbr 9:14; 1 Pe.1:2

13. father is head of the son; John 14:28; 1 Cor 11:3
14. son comes from father; John 6:57 .17:5
15. the Holy Spirit comes from the Father and the Son; John 15:26 .16:13-15 .20:22; Acts 16:6-7; Ro 8:9; Phil 1:19; Mt 10:20; Gal 4:6; 1 Pe 1:10-11

16. Father and Son are one (one Spirit); John 10:30 .12:45 .14:7-10; 1 Corinthians 12:11; Ephesians 4:4
17. both ‘persons’ are to be honoured; John 5:23; Rev 5:13

Do pets go to heaven?

You have to be born of the Spirit to inherit eternal life. Pets do not have the Paraclete in them. They do not bear the image of God. They are not resurrected on the last day, as per Jesus.

However, if you miss your pets and feel sad after the resurrection, God will do something to ensure you are not sad for eternity. God may even give you your pets back. Matthew 7:

There will be animals on the new earth (heaven), Isaiah 65:

There will be new pets.

See also No worries in the new heavens and earth.
It is true nowhere does it state animals go to heaven ... but .... as you stated there will be animals on the new earth ... God is big on restoration ... He could most certainly could restore our past pets on the new earth ... we really don't know .... but what we do know it's all going to be very good.

I would also like to add ... the bible talks about there will be children on the new earth as well. Most certainly there will be children in the first resurrection ... but is that the end of all creation for eternity? I don't believe so.

My belief is that God will restore the new earth back to it's original very good creation (before the fall) that was made by Him except there will not be any sin (so no death of any kind). I believe He will also restore reproductive capabilities to His newly created earth as well.

There is 1,000 years spent in heaven (after the 1st resurrection) and during that time and until after He executes final judgement on the wicked (2nd resurrection - 2nd death) re-creation/pro-creation is put on a pause (while in heaven) ... until He creates the new heavens and the new earth.

I base my conclusion on the fact that ... before the fall there was absolutely nothing wrong with God's creation .... it was perfect ... including the capability of pro-creation of everything ... so I find no reason why He would not restore that back to the new earth, including the ability to reproduce. It was His intention that was to happen in the first place.

The restoration of all things happens at the new creation of the heavens and the earth.

Acts 3:21
21Heaven must take Him in until the time comes for the restoration of all things, which God announced long ago through His holy prophets.

Basically .... it started in perfect Eden and it "ends "in that perfect Eden restored ... not really the end ... but the beginning of eternity that will be perfect for eternity. AMAZING!

Regardless ... it's all going to be very good and I really look forward to it. AMEN!!

Just some thoughts. ;o)

The Gift of Christ's Righteousness

You have to be able to see a demonstration, you cant.
Our disagreement is in regard to God's eternal decree and time.

You see his eternal decree as being executed when it is decreed.

The NT presents it being executed in time, and not actually effected until it is executed in time, it nevertheless being sovereignly certain.

favorite musical?!?

My absolute favorite is Jekyll and Hyde. It's really in depth about the struggle within human nature- where one person (Dr. Jekyll) wants to do good and another person (Mr. Hyde) wants to do evil.

It's got to be hard to have one actor to play both Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (especially in the number about "Confrontation", where he goes back and forth as both characters).

I also like Les Miserable and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Who would have ever thought that a famous Bible story would be made into a Broadway musical?

Another look at the moon landing.

Remember The Tower of Babel ?
That's got nothing to do with getting to the moon.

Read the text; "let us make a tower that reaches to the heavens so that we might make a name for ourselves." If they wanted to "get to the heavens", they wanted to be like God.
This was how Lucifer got chucked out of heaven; he tried to rebel against, and become greater than, God.
This was why Herod got eaten by worms; the people were claiming he was a god, he accepted their praise and did not try to correct them.
People tried to stone Jesus for claiming to be God, (even though he was.)

There is no suggestion that the astronauts believed God lived on the moon and by going there, they would be like God.
