Jn 1:29

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Now the sin of the world did involve unbelief. Eve didn't believe the truth of God. God had said in the day that you eat you shall surely die. Observe Gen 2:17

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Now Gen 3:2-4

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

as a result of unbelief:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Unless one repents ( change the mind) from unbelief to belief , no sin can be forgiven. In other words, His sacrifice is of no effect to that individual as they have rejected His gift of salvation from the " second death". Eve believed but she and Adam fell into deception and no longer walked with God. His Holy Spirit no longer dwelt in them. Their sin was disobedience not unbelief.
Blessings

I believe thats false, those for whom Christ died have been forgiven of all their sins, to include unbelief and disobedience. Then He gives them New Birth which contains both Faith and repentance.

Jesus died for all sin even the sin of unbelief, so all sin has been paid for and is forgiven.

I am not a Universalist. Universalism teaches this. Edit: Actually, it's like Calvinism. Jesus Christ of Nazareth died for everyone however, one must repent first.

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Blessings.

Im not a universalist either, however Jesus couldn't have died for people who shall die in their sins. Do you believe some folk going to die in their sins ?

Have you heard of His " Free Gift" to humanity? It only requires one to accept it. Those who do not accept His Free Gift will most certainly die the second death from their sins.

The Free Gift is Eternal Life, its being raised from the dead. The Gift isnt offered its given. If a person is lying dead with no life, and God decides to raise them from the dead, they received the Gift. Rom 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jn 17:2

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

1. who takes away the sin of the world! , 2. reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, 3. and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

All disobedience is unbelief, and all unbelief is disobedience. . .they are the same word in Greek, apeitheia.

Christ's death applies only to those who believe in him.

Because He only died and put away the sin of those who believed on Him, thats why they become believers, their sins including unbelief has been taken away.

Believing comes with the Gift of eternal life. Eternal life is the Gift of God first and then whoever the Gift is applied to shall believe. See you must have eternal life applied in order to believe Jn 6 47

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

I understand this theological system and do not adhear to it. It is the cart before horse, regeneration preceeding faith. Thanks for engaging!
Be blessed.

If there’s an unforgivable sin, then that means there’s a sin Christ didn’t atone for.

Thats fine if you dont believe it, not much I can do about that. The Gift of God is eternal life Jn 6:23 so that necessitates regeneration, its not an offer, its an applied blessing through Jesus Christ, just like the wages of sin was death, nothing is offered. When man sinned in Adam was death offered ? Then Faith is given through regeneration, and unbelief has been overcome. Thats because Christ died for that sin as well.
