A priest of the Diocese of Münster, Germany, Father Hermann Backhaus, said that consuming pornography “can have a relieving effect” on celibate people. He also considers it a “very strong” statement to associate the devil with pornography, as Pope Francis did at a meeting with seminarians in Rome last month.

Backhaus has been a priest since 2001. He works as a psychologist in an accompaniment center for people in the service of the Catholic Church. At the center he offers support with the aim of “growing in interior freedom” and “recognizing and living the vocation given by God.”

This work, as explained on his website, is offered to full-time pastoral workers, religious, and people preparing for those ministries.

In an interview with Katolisch.de, the news outlet of the Catholic Church in Germany, Backhaus warned against “the somewhat dirty connotation” attributed to the term pornographic.

I've been having a lot of sleepless nights lately with trying to start my own freelancing business in SEO, as well as running a YouTube channel and engaging in multiple other ambitions endeavours where I'm constantly neglecting or rejecting things in my life. In fact, I was more inclined to read books written by non-believers and atheists, where success became my sense of identity. My identity became correlated with what I could achieve and recently I've been very boastful of this.

I have a cat at home called Snowdrop, she is a 1-year-old shorthaired indoor cat who is very playful and curious. Recently she ate plastic, causing an argument with my family where my dad is trying to deter me from going to the vets because we don't have the money (I'm basically unemployed) and I had this dream as a result of this where I was in the middle of the riot. In fact, this is a recurring dream from when I was younger where I stole a box of Lego and was hunted down by authorities. In this dream, I suddenly raged and started a riot. Hey guys so back in July I came on here to get advice and help as I felt convicted because I modified software that I got from ebay and used illegal files to make it run and not have to activate it as photoshop cs3 servers have been taken down as of years ago. Well after seeing the responses I reailzed I was sinning and immediately deleted and permanently erased the software from my computer. In this time I realized it doesn't matter why your doing it there is no justification for sin. It doesn't matter that the seller scammed me, It doesnt make it right to do something and use something your arent supposed to be using. Onto now, so Four months have passed since then and I wanted to say that I ended up revicing a blessing from God. My dad was able to get me a legit copy of photoshop 5.0 from ebay in the orignal box and serial number for a good price and the best news is it doesn't need to be activated as the activation servers didn't exist when it was made and It works on my computer completely legally. It is super old like from the 90's but it works and I'm glad God blessed me with something good enough I can use for my art.

Why would the devil care when a soul comes to salvation? Aren't most people going to join him in the lake of fire anyway? Commentators and the like make it seem like he loses big time when a person comes to saving faith but what does he lose exactly? Obviously he can't get everyone. Does he recieve greater condemnation the more people get saved or something?

So my church is a member of the Christian Reformed Congregation of America. Our pastor left us about two months or so ago to move his family to Japan. However now the congregation is wanting to begin looking for a new pastor. How does a church in the reformed doctrine begin this process? Is there an organization I could ask for assistance or a place my church council could look for help? The denomination is not very helpful for some reason.

I am starting to prefer music over tv, movies and other video nowadays. I find I can do other things when I listen to music which is not same with video. Over the years, I have been seeing a growing need for music in my life because it has helped me get through tough times. I do have a tv yet leave it unplugged and covered with dust cover a lot now. I really don't see much need to watch it anymore. I find praise, worship, classical and some instrumental smooth jazz is what is speaking to me right now.

Seriously. I've tried to follow the rise and fall of FTX, and I don't understand it. I know cryptocurrency are all or mostly private fiat issuings and are driven by speculation, and growing up was fascinated by the Tulip Bubble, but I don't understand how FTX found that much in investments for what isn't even printed paper, or how the discovery that an associate company holding billions of their cryptocurrency would trigger the collapse.

Please, no conspiracy theories. This is just trying to understand what went on.

Hello, my name is Neil. I was raised Catholic, baptized and used to attend Catholic church with my mother when I was (much) younger. I'm not Christian and I'm not an atheist, I'm somewhere in the middle I suppose, e.g., theist/deist, so, I do believe in God, and have been writing about God, among other similar things, since 2015. My take on God is somewhat different in some respects as I have aligned the concept of God with a contemporary cosmology.

I will argue with the atheists on Gods' behalf and have the science and logic to back it up, although I would prefer to just be a scribe and write. I also enjoy associating written segments, spoken word/prose, brief essays, and poetry with music. I suppose that's good for now; time will tell whether or not I have found a new home here.

This rube of a NYT writer is trying to insinuate that all Traditional Catholics are also MAGA people. Maybe there's a correlation in values but it's a ridiculous broad stroke meant to paint traditionalists as dangerous radicals and extremists (for the record MAGA people aren't any of those things either, but that's what the dominant narrative in our culture wants you to think).

Interesting to note that in the third paragraph she insinuates that of all the various sorts of people who value the Latin Mass, none of them are simply "Catholics who take their faith seriously" which would be most accurate. She's denigrating their motives and reducing it to aesthetic preference or the naïveté of a convert and then proceeds to call the whole group a rising "right-wing strain on American Christianity".

If you want to see what direction the secular world wants the Church to go, read this article. It's clear that it views a passionate, masculine, Divinely-lead Church as a threat and it prefers a neutered, feminized, compromised Church instead.

Former Trump Org. CFO testifies he didn’t pay taxes on $1.76 million in personal expenses​

Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg testified Tuesday that he knew he should have paid taxes on hundreds of thousands of dollars in benefits he received annually, including a company-paid Manhattan apartment that he said former President Donald Trump suggested he move into.

Under questioning by prosecutor Susan Hoffinger, Weisselberg answered “yes” as the prosecutor went through each of personal expenses he received from the Trump Org. – and that the company didn’t pay taxes on them from 2005 through 2017.

He acknowledged that he knowingly unreported his income on his tax forms to get the fringe benefits tax free, and he hid that information from the accountants at Mazars, he said, because he thought they would refuse to sign his tax returns had they known about it.

Trump Organization Controller Jeff McConney knew the practice was illegal when he generated the false W-2 and 1099 tax forms on Weisselberg’s behalf, according to Weisselberg.

Two Trump Organization entities are charged with nine counts of tax fraud, grand larceny and falsifying business records in what prosecutors allege was a 15-year scheme to defraud tax authorities by failing to report and pay taxes on compensation provided to employees. The former president is not a defendant in the case and is not expected to be implicated in any wrongdoing.
