Going to Heaven....

Reader..

Christianity is spiritual.

"God is A Spirit".

The bible teaches us that the things we can see are going to go away, turn into nothing, and the things we can't see are ETERNAL.

YOU are a spirit being, who is living inside a currently aging toward death, body.
Your body is going to stop living. Your body is going to stop breathing, your heartbeat will stop......, but your spirit, who is the real you, that is living inside your body, will continue.

The question is... where is your spirit going to end up in Eternity.?
Where?

There are only 2 destinations available.

One requires your self effort to go there, and that is Hell.
Yes, it takes your Self EFFORT to go to Hell.
You have to work to go there. You have to try to be good, you have to try to keep commandments, you will probably be water baptized, and you'll be found in some type of pretending to be like Jesus, mentality, that you believe that you must ACT out.

See all that? That is YOU trying to go to heaven, and that is exactly how and why you wont go.

Why?
Because to Go to heaven, is only based on what Jesus did for you on the Cross.
See that?
THAT is what God will accept on your behalf, to accept you, = The Cross of Christ..... and He will not accept you, based on you trying to be good enough to be accepted.
Not ever.
Never.
Never.
Never.

Listen,
Here is the issue with trying to be good enough.... which includes water baptism, enduring to the end of the Tribulation, going to church a lot... and trying to keep commandments and law, and do good works..
See all that?
= You are doing it, and God does not accept what you do, to accept you into His spiritual family.
Why not?
Because "all have sinned"........so, this means that all of us at one time are an unforgiven sinner, trying to be accepted by God, based on yourself.
Where will that lead you?
It'll lead you to hell like a bullet after you die, if that is all you have ever done.

Notice that SIN problem?
"all have SINNED"?
"ALL have sinned"
See that?
There is nothing you can do of yourself to get those sins forgiven, by God., and everyone who spent a lifetime trying then died, is right now in Hell wondering what went wrong. And what went wrong, was that they tried to go to heaven, as an unforgiven sinner, and that is the one situation that will never let you go there.

"but im water baptized"... = meaningless regarding going to heaven.
"but im always trying to keep commandments"... = meaningless regarding going to heaven.
"I take the sacraments and will try to die in a state of grace"... = Nope, wont do it., as that is YOU doing that.
"but, my dad is the Pastor, and my mother is a missionary"... = meaningless regarding going to Heaven. They'll go and you wont, if they are born again.

So, how do you go to heaven, if you can't get there by being good, or by trying to be good, or by being dunked in water and saying some magic words ???

Reader....
You have to become a part of God's Spirit to become a part of God's eternal life.
Jesus said......"you must be born again".....Spiritually.

See that?
For that to happen, For God to give you THE new birth, He first must deal with all your sin, so that your sin is no longer separating you from Him.

Here is how that is solved.....

"Jesus is the ONE TIME ETERNAL Sacrifice" for sin"... because...."God hath made Jesus to be SIN for us".

= The Cross of Christ

And what does that mean?
It means that when you give God your faith in Christ, God instantly takes the blood and death sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross = and applies it to you, and your sin is resolved, forgiven, and forgotten.
What sin does the blood of Jesus forgive?

A.) ALL of them.
AA.) All of them.

Then, God takes His very own righteousness, and gives it to you, as "the Gift of Righteousness", and you become "made righteous". "in Christ".. "one with God".

See that?
That is what is known as being REDEEMED by the BLOOD of Jesus.

"""""what can wash away my SIN... nothing but the BLOOD of JESUS". "oh Crimson is the flow that makes me white as snow.... no other Fount i know, nothing but the BLOOD OF JESUS""".

Reader, has the Holy Blood of Jesus washed away your sin?.... Water can't but the Blood of Jesus will, and forever.
Result = 2 Corinthians 5:19

That is what is known as God giving you the BLOOD ATONEMENT, and this removes your sin, so that God can then give you His very Righteousness.
This is your SALVATION.
Its a "Gift" from God freely given to all who will come to God trusting in Christ.

And that reader, has to happen to you, or you can't go to heaven and will never.

Has it happened to you?
Can you name the day in your past, when you heard the Gospel of the Grace of God that i just gave you , and you knew you were a sinner needing to be forgiven, and you went to God believing in Jesus ??

Reader,
You have to have that moment in your life, when you recognized your need of forgiveness and you went to JESUS and He became your Savior and God became your Heavenly Father by giving you a Spiritual BIRTH.
"born...... AGAIN".. that's #2 birthday........and that one is eternal life.
That is the day you gave your faith in Christ to God.

A.) = You have to have that day in your life, if you want to go to Heaven.
If you dont have that SALVATION day in your past , then today is the day, now is the time., and may God bless you to come to His Son by Faith and be saved.
If you know you have that Eternal Salvation day in your past, then God bless you to grow deeper in His word and deeper in His revelation.

Thank you for posting this. I've been wrestling over the last few decades, and especially in the last few years, with the goodness of God, and the extent of God's love and trustworthiness. I had wondered whether I misremembered the sermons of my Baptist childhood, but, no; your post is an excellent example of the expression of Christianity that I was taught growing up.

This version of the gospel does have a measure of internal logic, and it does have some support in Scripture. But it isn't "good news" (it's terrible news!), and it has a problem. This:

What sin does the blood of Jesus forgive?

A.) ALL of them.
AA.) All of them.

isn't consistent with this:

You have to have that moment in your life, when you recognized your need of forgiveness and you went to JESUS and He became your Savior and God became your Heavenly Father by giving you a Spiritual BIRTH.
"born...... AGAIN".. that's #2 birthday........and that one is eternal life.
That is the day you gave your faith in Christ to God.

A.) = You have to have that day in your life, if you want to go to Heaven.

If the blood of Jesus forgives all our sins, then it should also forgive the sin of not having exactly the right conversion experience. You described people who are pledged to Christ in baptism, and who are under the impression that the Christian life is worshipping God and serving other people. Why is the blood of Jesus inadequate to forgive their sins?

There is this very extreme important point you make which needs some explaining: “when you give God your faith in Christ”:

Is that not something you do and not everyone else does?

Is it then a knowledge issue, where you know to do something and others do not know to do it?

Are you posting this to provide the knowledge needed to be saved?

The lowliest mature adult on earth can put his/her trust in a Benevolent Creator (look at the thief on the cross), so do we have what we need already?

If “knowledge” is not the issue to bring about salvation then what is the issue?

1 Cor 15 and 2 Cor 5 both point out that you get TWO bodies.

1. First one is the one you have now
2. The second one is the one you get at the bodily resurrection of the saints.

Jesus had a resurrected body and was seen a number of times as reported in the Gospels

That is Decisionism.

Rather, the Gospel is that God Himself saves us, and He saves us by sending Jesus Christ, who bore our sin and death on the cross and who has overcome and defeated sin, death, hell, and the devil by His resurrection.

Faith, which is the work and gift of God, of His grace (Ephesians 2:8), which He works and gives by His word (Romans 10:17), receives what God gives. And thus the free gift and our justification before God. We are justified not on the basis of our works, but rather Christ's work. For Christ is the power of God, the wisdom of God, and is for us righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:24-31).

The point of salvation is not "how to go to heaven". The point of salvation is that we sinners, condemned under the Law as guilty because of our sin, are reconciled to God by His grace through the work of Jesus Christ. That we should no longer be slaves, held captive in the bondage of sin, death, and the devil.

So the Apostle writes in Romans 6:1-11 that in light of what we have received in our baptism we ought to regard ourselves dead to sin and alive to God (Romans 6:11); that Christ having tasted and conquered death has destroyed the power of death and the devil (Hebrews 2:14). We, therefore, have the promise from God that even as Christ has been raised from the dead, so too shall we be raised (Romans 8:11), for at Christ's coming in glory the dead shall be raised incorruptible and immortal (1 Corinthians 15:20-58, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, Philippians 3:21).

God is not going to abandon His creation to destruction, for the present age will be consumed in the fire of judgment (2 Peter 4:10) and yet God has purposed to renew this creation, a new heavens and new earth in which justice dwells (2 Peter 4:13, Isaiah 65:17-25, Acts 3:21, Habakkuk 2:14, Revelation 21:1-6). For creation at present, due to sin and death, groans in labor pains (Matthew 24:4-8, Romans 8:18-22) which is why we await that future day and our bodies will be raised up (Romans 8:23-25) and all creation is made new.

So God in His overwhelming goodness intends to save, redeem, heal, and bring all things toward that glorious place which He has intended from the very beginning. Therefore He has even chose us, in love, from before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:3-14), unwilling that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and are justified by His grace freely through Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24) so that whoever hears might believe, and be saved. Not according to their efforts or any work of righteousness done by us (Titus 3:5); but by God's grace alone (Ephesians 2:8) according to Christ's work alone (Romans 5:8-11), received through faith (Romans 1:16-17). So that God will, in all things will truly be all in all.

So there can be no boasting of man before God. We have nothing to boast of. Not even a decisive moment where we turned to God away from our sin. For apart from God's intervening grace and good will toward us through His Gospel we would remain cold dead corpses in our sin.

So we cannot turn inward and look to ourselves, to the things we think, feel, do, and say. Instead we must look outward, to Christ, to God's word and promise, which He declares to us in His word, in Scripture, int he preaching of the Gospel. In where He acts for us and gives us His word and promises, in His Sacraments.

Trust not in yourself, but in God who gives you Himself in Word and Sacrament. Are you baptized? Then rejoice, for Christ has cleansed you with water with the word (Ephesians 5:26), having granted you new birth from God (John 3:3-5, Titus 3:5), for you have in your baptism died and been buried with Christ and also raised up with Christ to newness of life (Romans 6:3-4), having received a spiritual circumcision made without hands (Colossians 2:11-13). When you receive Christ's Supper, rejoice, for Christ gives you Himself, even His own body and blood (1 Corinthians 10:16, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, John 6:48-59).

Christ gives you Himself. And the Spirit dwells in all who are His, by the grace and power of God. We can, therefore always trust in God, have faith in God, believing in His mercy to keep us and hold us, to save us. Who justifies us, and who works daily to sanctify us by conforming us to the image of Christ. So that we have set before us Christ the Author and Finisher of our faith. So that in all things Christ alone is worthy, and to God alone is given glory.
