The Use and Abuse of the Bible in the Immigration Debate.

Not every instance required witnesses, but the passage mentions proof of virginity, which is why I worded it as I did. Immaculate conception has happened once and never again. So for her to be found with child when Joseph hasn't touched her, most are going to see the pregnancy as itself proof of adultery. God intervened which is why she was not put away by Joseph and Joseph was a good man which is why he wasn't going to follow the LAW and expose her in the first place.

What would happen to any other unmarried woman who is with child but not caught in the act?
According to the Bible, witnesses are needed. If they were to follow the law, divorce, but not stoning. Furthermore, exposing her isn’t actually a moral obligation. He didn’t break the law by not telling on her. There is nothing in the Bible that says he is morally obligated to expose her. Thus, God never made someone break the law.

VOTE HOW MANY BELIEVE IN A PRE TRIBULATION HOPE/RAPTURE ?

I have addressed 1 Thess 1:10. Deliver does not mean removal. As many other Prophesies say; the Lord will protect His people through the worldwide disaster of the Sixth Seal.
Only with a biased interpretation, made to fit a preconceived theory; do rapture believers wrongly think that.

Revelation 3:10 Since you have kept My command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial, that is coming upon the whole world, to test those who live on the earth. This verse is paralleled by Rev 12:14 and Zechariah 14:2b, where a group of ‘elect’ people are taken to a place of safety, for 1260 days – the Great Tribulation period. This is a place on the earth, a place prepared by God, a place far away, of peace and security.
It is false teaching to say Rev.3:10 is a ‘rapture’ of the church to heaven. In fact; those who want to avoid testing and discipline, are not children of God at all, they are illegitimate, Hebrews 12:7

Will Christian believers experience the Great Tribulation? Yes. The many millions of followers of Jesus Christ will be present on earth during that time of persecution. His angels will gather them at the Return of Jesus. Matthew 24:30-31

Matthew 24:21-22 For there will be great distress, such as never before. If that time of troubles were not cut short, everything would die, but for the sake of God’s chosen people, those days will be shortened.
Revelation 7:14 They are those who have passed through the Great ordeal, they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
These two verses make it clear that believers will be present during the Tribulation and many of them will be martyred for their faith. If some of God’s people were not present at that time, there would be no need to shorten it for their sake. What God promises is eventual deliverance for His people, for some through death, but not protection from experiencing trials. We must endure until the end. Matthew 24:13, Revelation 13:10

In His prayer for the disciples, and for believers in general, Jesus did not ask for them to be taken out of this world – but that they would be protected from the evil one. John 17:15. But that divine protection does not abrogate the testing of those who wish to be true followers of God. Even today, all believers are tested, some by persecution – even to the death, and others in tolerant countries, by distractions and false teachings.

2Timothy 3:1-5 Remember, the final age of this world is to be a time of turmoil! People will love nothing but self and money, they will be boastful and arrogant, disobedient to parents, devoid of gratitude, piety and natural affection. They will hate all goodness, be violent and self important. They will love their pleasures more than God, having a form of godliness, but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
1 Th 1:10 is about the timing of the rapture: before the Trib. God’s wrath (wars) begins in Rev 6:4, the 2nd seal. That fact perfectly complements the applicable meaning of “delivers us.”

Delivers us" in 1 Th 1:10 means we are snatched away (raptured): "The second usage of deliverance refers to the Acts of God whereby he rescues his people from danger. The key words nasal [l;v"n] ("draw out, snatched away")," --- Source: Baker's Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology.

In Rev 3:10, you fail to distinguish the two groups: “you” and “those.” Those two words, as they were used by Jesus, grammatically cannot represent the same group. When you get that right, you will see that “you” are believers and “those” are certified unbelievers: “those who dwell on the earth.” Jesus said, “I will also keep you from the hour of trial .. “ which only means “you” will not enter the Trib. I’m going by the grammar involving “you” and “those.” We will not enter the Trib. The Trib is for testing only “those who dwell on the earth.” John 14:3 is the rapture verse from there. John 14:3 will be fulfilled. Its fulfillment occurs with 1 Th 4:17. 1 Th 4:16-17 are part and parcel to the next prophesied event in the Bible, to fulfill Acts 1:11.

SC Senate Passes Bill Banning Affirmative Care For Minors

Uh huh.

Did their ships try to use the women's restroom, join the women's sports team, or advocate the sterilizing of children?

No? Well I guess there's no point to your post then.
If those are your issues, what's your beef with pronouns?

Birthrates in the U.S. hit historic low in 2023, preliminary CDC data show

I'd like to know why we have anyone on unemployment then. We shouldn't if this is the case.
Economists call it "frictional unemployment."

What Is Frictional Unemployment?

Frictional unemployment is a type of short-term unemployment that occurs when workers look for new employment or transition out of old jobs and into new ones. This temporary period of unemployment is the result of voluntary transitions within an economy. It stands in contrast with structural unemployment, which stems from economic shifts that make it difficult for workers to find work.

Frictional unemployment can be evident in a growing, stable economy and is regarded as a part of natural unemployment, the minimum unemployment rate in an economy due to economic forces and the movement of labor.

How to get closer to God and grow in faith

Sanctification is the process between initial justification and eventual glorification of our bodies.

  1. Make sure that you have been born of the Spirit. We are one with God in the Spirit/Paraclete.
  2. Familiarize yourself with the whole Bible by daily reading.
  3. Pray daily. Make your prayers your prayer life.
  4. Have a repentant heart daily.
  5. Practice hearing from God.
  6. Find a local church to attend. Get involved in its programs.
  7. Volunteer regularly to do good. Help the homeless. Etc.
This is not some theological study. I am speaking from personal experience. This practice helps me to get closer to God and grow in faith. It works for me :)

Feds secretly knew for years Joe Biden met with son’s Chinese partners on official trip

Besides the e-mails, bank records and photos - I don't see how anyone could claim that there is no evidence.
You should let the House GOP leadership know. They seemed pretty bummed out they couldn't find any evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden.

Is it okay to eat pork?

Yes, Mark 7:

Paul confirmed that in Romans 14:

More generally, Colossians 2:

Eating pork or shrimp is fine but you don't have to. If you can avoid eating pork and shrimp, good for you :)

Interestingly, lard was shown to be protective (to some degree) against alcoholic damage of liver. Beef fat was better, but lard was still very good. The study is only in rats, though:

5 SIGNS THAT GOD IS SPEAKING TO YOU THAT YOU CAN'T IGNORE. FIND YOUR PURPOSE AND DESTINY.

Have you ever wondered if God is trying to speak to you? Have you ever experienced such an inner conviction that something or someone is trying to tell you something, but you are not sure what it could be?
Do you sometimes feel that there is more than mere events and accidents? If so, you're in the right place because today we're going to talk about how to recognize the signs that God may be sending us in our daily lives.
It often happens that God speaks to us in a subtle and gentle way. It is not always clear and obvious, but it is worth paying attention to it, because these signs can be very valuable and helpful in our lives. God is always trying to speak to us, but sometimes it's not easy to hear His voice in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
That is why today we will try to help you understand what signs God sends and how to recognize His messages. If you want to learn more about how to recognize these signs and how to be more receptive to God's messages, then stay with us and watch the full video. We will try to provide you with as much inspiration and guidance as possible to help you develop your spirituality and relationship with God.
God wants to talk to us and communicate with us. It is not only we who carefully seek His presence, but He also seeks our attention and communication. His voice often speaks to us, but we are often too busy to hear Him.
God is a God of relationships and wants us to have a close, personal relationship with Him. He loves us and cares for our needs, so He wants us to hear His voice and follow His directions. God speaks to us in many different ways, but one of the first signs we may notice is when He speaks to us through the Bible.
When we read the Bible, we may come across a text that seems to have been written especially for us. It can be a short passage that grabs our attention, or a whole chapter that helps us understand a certain situation in our lives. It often happens that God speaks to us through words that are hidden between the lines, and that is why it is worth reading the Holy Scriptures carefully.
God can speak to us through the Bible in different ways. Sometimes the words we read seem to relate directly to our life situation. Other times, it may just be words of comfort that show that God is with us in difficult times.
It may also happen that the words we read seem difficult to understand, but over time they make sense and help us on our spiritual journey. If a verse from the Bible keeps recurring in our hearts, it may be a sign that God wants to communicate something to us through it. Often, a verse seems to speak to us directly about our problems, our fears, and our hopes.
It is also not uncommon for us to hear in church or read a verse in the Holy Scriptures that seems unrelated to our lives, but later, when we suddenly remember it, we discover that it was a sign from God just then. God often uses Scripture to speak to our hearts and remind us of His promises.
When we read the Bible, words and verses permeate our thoughts and feelings, allowing us to know God and His plans for our lives. When a verse lingers in our hearts, it is helpful to consider what it might mean and what direction God wants to give us. The Bible is full of parables, stories, and teachings designed to help us understand God and His plan for our lives.
Therefore, it is worth taking time to study the Holy Scriptures regularly and pray that God will open our hearts to His words. When we read the Bible, we give God the opportunity to speak to us. Often God uses other people or events to speak to us.
It may be someone from our environment who suddenly appears in our lives and brings us the support, words of wisdom or advice we need. It can also be a situation that seems random, but carries an important message for our way of life. Examples of such situations may vary.
It can be a friend who calls when we least expect it and proposes a meeting that turns out to be crucial for our future. It may be a stranger who, during a short conversation, gives us the answer to a difficult question that has been bothering us for a long time. It can also be an event that seems random, but turns out to be a key moment in our lives.
How can we recognize that it is God who speaks to us through these people and events? This is often accompanied by an inner conviction that what is happening matters to us. We can feel peace in our hearts, a sense of security, or joy that God is with us and guiding us on the right path.
Sometimes we can also feel internal pressure that we have to do something, or that what is happening is important to us. It is worth considering whether what this person tells us is consistent with the teaching of the Bible and does not contradict it. It is important to remember that it is not always easy to recognize that God is speaking to us through people and events.
It often takes time and patience to understand what God wants to tell us. It is important to be open to these signs and trust that God knows what is best for us. There are many examples in the Bible where God spoke through other people.
For example, Moses was chosen by God to deliver the Israelites from Egypt, but he had his doubts and fears. God spoke to him through his brother Aaron, who helped him gather his strength and remind him of what he needed to do. Similarly, in the case of the prophets, God spoke to them and through them to His people to convey His words and commands to them. An example is the prophet Elijah, whom God brought out of a difficult crisis through the people and events accompanying him.
It is therefore clear that God wants to communicate with us and speaks to us in various ways, also through other people. This can be hard to accept, especially when these people don't seem particularly important to us or we don't admire them. However, in our lives, every person and every situation can be a sign from God, and we should be open and attentive to notice them.
It often happens that life brings us all kinds of obstacles and troubles. These can be financial problems, problems at work, health problems or problems in relationships with other people. In times like these, it's easy to fall into despair and hopelessness. However, it is worth remembering that God can speak to us through these difficulties.
He usually talks to us in this way when he has tried many times to tell us something in a different way, but we paid him no attention. When we experience problems, we tend to focus on the problems themselves and try to solve them.
However, God often wants us to focus our attention on something else, something more important than our problems. When things are going well, we usually start to consider ourselves invincible and think that everything is in our power. However, when problems arise, we begin to understand that nothing happens without the will of God and we ask Him for help, and this leads to an increase in our faith.
Through difficult situations, God wants to remind us of our dependence on Him and the need to turn to Him in prayer. It can also be an attempt to teach us patience, perseverance and humility. Sometimes God may also want us to pay attention to what is really important to us and stop focusing on trifles.
Troubles can also serve as a tool to cleanse us of negative attitudes and habits. They can help us see our mistakes and understand what changes we need to make in our lives to become better people. After all, God can use troubles to draw our attention to important matters that affect our spirituality and our relationship with Him.
When we experience difficulties, we are more likely to reflect on our lives, search for answers, and turn to God for help and support. It is important that in difficult situations we try to look for the message that God wants to give us. Perhaps it is through these difficulties that he wants to show us some new ways or challenges that we would miss on a daily basis.
It is worth having an open heart and mind to understand what God wants to tell us through these difficult situations. God can also speak to us through the emotions we feel. Often our emotions are a reaction to situations in our lives and can be a sign from God who is trying to tell us something.
For example, feeling joy and appreciation for something that has happened can be a sign that God is telling us to appreciate more what we have in life. Sometimes emotions are also there to show us what is important to us in life. For example, when we feel love, it could be a sign that God wants to remind us of the importance of love and how important it is that we show it to others.
Feeling sad or longing can be a sign that God wants to remind us of his presence and the need to include him in our lives. Another example is feeling anxious or anxious. Sometimes we may feel scared, uncertain, or confused about a situation. It could be a sign from God, telling us to trust Him more and trust Him.
We can then ask God to show us the way and show us what we should do. Sudden sadness can be a signal that God wants to comfort us or encourage us to open up to other people. It can also be a moment of reflection, when God wants to show us that we need time to regenerate and discover a new perspective.
Sometimes we can also feel strange, not at home in certain situations. This may be a signal that we should change something in our lives or approach certain situations in a different way. Anxiety can mean that we are holding on to something that is unhealthy for us, and God wants to set us free and show us the right way. It is important to listen to yourself and your emotions, and to seek the voice of God in them.
Let us remember that God also speaks to us through our emotions. That is why it is worth opening up to what He wants to tell us and always looking for His guidance in everyday life.
In summary, God wants to speak to us and communicate with us in many different ways. This communication can be through the Bible, people, events, problems, emotions or inner feelings. It is important that we are open to his voice and seek it in our lives. It is often not easy to understand what he wants to tell us, but when we make the effort to listen and understand, we can discover many treasures and answers to our questions.
Let us not be afraid to listen and seek God, because this is the way to discover our true identity and life purpose. Let us remember that God is always close to us and wants only the best for us. Let's give Him a chance to speak to us and bring His lo
ve, peace and wisdom into our lives.

Swastikas found in Oxford University lavatories

Nobody says the 17 student's were responsible for the Nazi symbols. It could have been any other Pro-Palestinian trouble-maker.
Or anybody at all, really. There is no established connection between the graffiti and the demonstrations. We don't even know when the graffiti appeared.
But you're right, Pro-Palestinian sentiment is not the same as Nazism... It's Nazi-Lite, since it lacks the killing of Jews.
It is not Nazi at all.
...But the college kids are smart! They won't be doing it themselves, they're counting on persuading policy, so that others do all the killing for them... Kind of like how Adolf had everyone else do his dirty work for him.
This is just nonsense. There is no killing going on in Oxford, just a peaceful demonstration against the current warfare waged by Israel. The same opposition can be seen everywhere, even in Israel.

In my opinion loose talk about Nazism is irrelevant to the issues in general and to the demonstrations in Oxford in particular.

St. Euphrosynos Taverna and Ouzeri (another one!)

Oh that’s frustrating about the oven! I hope it can be repaired easily.

Baking with a charcoal grill….sounds like there is a lot of potential there!

I started my sourdough starter in December. It’s delicious, but it does take time to maintain it. If he restarts it, I recommend taking some starter discard and smearing it on parchment paper. Let it dry and crumble it for a shelf stable back up starter. If it ever fails, you can reconstitute the dried starter and avoid starting over from scratch.

Baptism and communion

# 1 And there is a difference between Gal 3:28

# 2 And Col 3:11

#B3 And Rom 10:12

AND in Gal 3:28 there CANNOT // OV , is a DISJUNCATIVE PARTICLE NEGATIVE , and that means There Are No Jew not Greek and there CANNOT // OV and also means NEVERRRRRRRR BE anyone called Jew or Greek , which means all other nations , be in the BODY OF CHRIST , EVERRRRRRRRRRR.
There cannot be a Jew or a Gentile in the Church, because those terms have no meaning to those in the Church. The Church transcends all physical, biological, Earthly distinctions.
And bthe Greek word ARE // ESTE is 9n the Greek PRESENT TENSE , and that means we are always in Christ , meaning OSAS .
OSAS is a figment of human imagination. Nothing can ever take our salvation from us, but we can abandon it.

"How do you become a Christian?"

“How do you become a Christian (in words/terms understandable to an unbeliever)?”

To become a Christian, one should believe in the highest, ultimate power and name called God. One’s belief of God should be according to the Holy Bible. God should be perceived as purely good, perfect and without fault. One’s conscience, feeling or realization should be that one has done wrong, evil really, in life. God as purely good hates not the person, but that evil, and must judge it and punish it as righteous justice. One must believe they are guilty before good God, yet that our same loving God has provided the only solution. This being Jesus Christ, God walking the Earth as a man. As payment for the evil committed in one’s life, God’s wrath crucified and killed Jesus, so that we may live. Eternally alive now, one need not fear the default fate of suffering unimaginable torture forever when one dies. Instead, one looks forward to heaven with Jesus and all who believe God’s Holy Bible.

“How did you become a Christian (in words/terms understandable to an unbeliever)?”

Acts 11:26

Authorized (King James) Version

26 and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

To the world - that is, people who do not know God, but are led by the spirit of this world, Christianity is made up of people who curse like pirates, and follow the world's disgusting practices, condemned in the Bible,

Kanye West Faces $62,725 In Court Sanctions After Wearing a Jesus Mask In ‘Profanity-Laced’ Deposition

Which musicians swear the most in their song lyrics? Who uses curse words the least?
The use of profanity in music does seem to be more common than in the past.
And music fans certainly have an idea of which artists are more likely to swear in their music than others.
...the artist who cursed the least in song lyrics is - Bruno Mars.
In second place is Justin Bieber followed by Taylor Swift in third. (Yep, T-Swift swears more than the Biebs).
The rest of the Top 10 on that list were - Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lip, Billie Eilish, Morgan Wallen, The Weeknd, The Neighbourhood and Kanye West.
including grabbing women by their... you know what, and where.

They do say they believe in God, and that Jesus Christ died for their sins.
Some would testify to being staunch Catholic, Anglican, and so forth.
Is believing in God and Jesus Christ what makes one a Christian?
That's how the world sees it.

God sees it differently.
In God's word, we read, in part, as quoted in the OP, at Acts 26:11 The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.
The scriptures tell us that a Christian is a disciple of Jesus Christ.

How does one identify a disciple of Jesus Christ?
Jesus answers at John 8:31... “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples." (NIV)
The scriptures tell us that a true disciple of Jesus Christ - a real Christian, is one who holds to Jesus' teachings. In other words, one who lives by Jesus' teachings.

Where do we find Jesus teachings?
We find Jesus teachings in the same word he upheld. John 17:17
Bible.png

According to the scriptures, a true Christian then, believes the Bible, and live their life according to what is written in the Bible for our instruction - Christian living1 Thessalonians 4:1, 2, which includes following Christ's example.

I really hope Kanye West, Justen Bieber, and the whole lot of other professed Christians are reading this, because, right now, they are unbelievers, even if they say otherwise.

I became a Christian by first learning what the Bible really teaches, conforming my ways to those teaching, and then becoming a disciple of Christ - that is, following Christ's example, and his teachings.
When we use the Bible, as Jesus did, to answer questions, we are sure to get the correct answer, because it's God's word, and so, it's God's view, and not our own.
I live by that example of always using the scriptures.

Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”

Matthew 4:7
Jesus replied, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”

Matthew 4:10
“Away from Me, Satan!” Jesus declared. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’ ”

Matthew 21:13
And He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’ ”

Matthew 26:31
Then Jesus said to them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of Me. For it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

Mark 7:6
Jesus answered them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.

Luke 4:17
the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:

Luke 10:26
“What is written in the Law?” Jesus replied. “How do you read it?”

Luke 20:17
But Jesus looked directly at them and said, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’?

Luke 24:44-46; John 6:31; John 6:44, 45; John 8:17; John 10:34

PS
I forgot to mention... Your question "How do you become a Christian?", is one of the most important I have seen on these forums.
Thank you.

Normandt' meditations

171. Talents

Let’s invest in something that resembles us, brings us together and reflects our talents, supported by the teaching of the Church. It may seem simple, but it’s good to think about it properly to fit and meet our talents.

Each person has his own charisms. It’s also recommended to ask the Holy Spirit what would be best for us to achieve.

There are always people in the Church who hold on despite the adversity of everything that keeps the world away from churches. They hold on and that keeps the Church fruitful. They receive courage and tenacity from Our Lord. Glory be to Jesus!

Paul tells us:
“Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.” Colossians, chapter 3, verse 2

May all that we do for the people be inspired by the realities from above. The realities of the earth are good and pleasant, like picking strawberries, but the realities of heaven are superior to them, like the fruit of charity toward people.

Justice Thomas raised crucial question about legitimacy of special counsel's prosecution of Trump

Have you heard of "witness tampering"?

Have you heard of "defendant tampering"?

Things are not symmetric. Cohen was a witness; Trump is a defendant. Trump is out on bail with release conditions; Cohen is not.

This has nothing to do with left/right. It is defendant/witness.
gag order

gag order

“A "gag order" is the term for when a judge prohibits the attorneys, parties, or witnesses in a pending lawsuit or criminal prosecution from talking about the case to the public. “ Again you obviously are not a lawyer. Read the article notice the context is protecting the defendants right to a fair trial . Cohen should have been gagged.
