Let's forget the evidence for a moment.

What is the crime?

Joe Biden should be indicted for....

Murder?
Bribery?
Mopery?
Jaywalking?

What crime is being alleged by the GOP, and what are the circumstances?
He has multiple email addresses! He loaned his son money for a truck! He spoke to his son on the phone!

If those aren't crimes, I don't know what is.

House Oversight chair says public hearing with Hunter Biden is next phase of impeachment inquiry

House Oversight Chair James Comer said the next phase of the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden will be a public hearing with Hunter Biden.

I'm starting to wonder if someone enjoys, really enjoys, humiliation.
Maybe they just want to see more nude pictures of the guy? Or was that a different manufactured outrage from the GOP? It is so hard to keep track.

Do you mean this meeting?

The dinner, on April 16, 2015, was held in the private “Garden Room” at Café Milano, a Georgetown institution whose catchphrase is: “Where the world’s most powerful people go.”
...
“Ok – the reason for the dinner is ostensibly to discuss food security,” writes Hunter on March 26 to Michael Karloutsos, son of the then-head of the Greek Orthodox Church.

“Dad will be there but keep that between us for now. Thanks.”
...
A Mexican ambassador and representatives of World Food Program USA also were on the guest list, which Hunter emailed to Archer three weeks before the dinner:

“3 seats for our KZ [Kazakhstan] friends.

“2 seats for Yelana and husband

“2 [seats for] you and me.

“3 seats for WFPUSA people

“Vadym.

“3 Ambassadors (MX, ?, ?)

“Total 14”.
There were more meetings than one. What is your source? Please link it so I can see.

Your source says "a dinner".

"Emails from the cache suggested that Hunter Biden hosted a dinner in a private room at the tony Washington restaurant that included both his father and an executive from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma

Maybe you can post your source that Joe Biden had multiple meetings with Vadym Pozharsky.

If you can identify other meetings please do that.
Thanks for the link. Well, this certainly certainly looks sketchy:
“Ok – the reason for the dinner is ostensibly to discuss food security,” writes Hunter on March 26 to Michael Karloutsos, son of the then-head of the Greek Orthodox Church.

“Dad will be there but keep that between us for now. Thanks.”

Karloutsos replies: “Everything is between us. All good‎! … I know you mentioned your dad would probably join the dinner as well.”

Anyone who knows anything about board members, knows that they are expected to contribute to the business itself, as board members.

And what the heck was he DOING for 83K a MONTH?

"Baturina wired $3.5 million on Feb. 14, 2014, to Rosemont Seneca Thornton LLC, a Delaware-based investment firm co-founded by Hunter and Devon Archer, a former adviser to Secretary of State John Kerry."
And what was the 3.6 million to Rosemont for? All reasonable questions.

Various other meetings in various settings were reported a couple years ago: At Least 14 of Hunter Biden’s Business Associates Met With Joe Biden, Despite President’s Denial

What the heck is Lauren Boebert doing for CO D3 for $174,000 of taxpayer funds? Nothing that I have seen. She is proof that what someone is paid isn't always relative to their actual abilities.

What does this money have to do with Joe Biden?

There is quite a list here. I don't see where any of them have enough information to qualify as proof of Joe Biden taking part in Hunter Biden's business, Joe Biden directly doing business with any of these people, or any of them receiving favors from Joe Biden except maybe pleasantries and a tour of the White House.

At the time he was hired by Burisima, Hunter Biden was 44 years old, an experienced international financial executive with an ivy-league law degree and a net worth of three million dollars. He sat on Burisima’s board as an 'outside director' to advise them in financial dealings, a position for which he was eminently qualified. He was not involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, and was not required to know very much about the engineering details of natural gas production.. No doubt he was paid somewhat over the mark (but probably not as much over as you think) for his services and the Biden name helped, but it likely had more to do with his reputation in financial circles as a slick operator. Of course anyone who has been paying attention knows all of this. I merely bring it up here to remind you that the Right's pathetic attempts to paint Hunter Biden as a gormless minion of the Biden Crime Family enjoying a sinecure obtained for him by his father is an obvious clanger.

Transcript of Hunter's testimony.

WaPo analysis.

Republican legislators and interviewers challenging the president’s son on the House majority’s behalf would throw out an allegation, often one that’s been worn smooth after tumbling around in the right-wing media universe for the past year or two. And Biden would invariably swat it away, stripping off the layers of innuendo that had been applied by Donald Trump and Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) or Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) or any of myriad Fox News commentators.

Hunter Biden’s testimony centered heavily on two themes. First, the closeness of his family, having been drawn together by the tragic deaths of his mother and, later, his brother. This is why he always took his father’s calls, he said, and why he would always welcome his father to join him at dinners. [which happened frequently, even when there were no business partners around.]

The other was that Joe Biden was a career politician.

“My dad has been a United States Senator since I was 2 years old,” Biden said at one point. “My whole life has been this.”

His point? That glad-handing strangers and dropping into events was part of his father's daily life — and therefore his own.

--

A legislator asked him whether he'd worked for foreign governments.

“I never worked for a country,” he replied. “I am not Jared Kushner.”

Comer’s concession: Republicans might never vote to impeach Biden

Republican Rep. James Comer has spent a year crusading for President Joe Biden's impeachment. He's now starting to realize that this probably won't happen.
When House Republicans formally approved an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden in mid-December, it was a dramatic development, but not in a good way. It was the first time in American history that Congress authorized an impeachment inquiry without uncovering any evidence of wrongdoing against the intended target.

It’s likely that GOP lawmakers hoped that by formalizing the investigation, they might be able to fill in the gaps with incriminating information about the Democratic incumbent. If so, they have reason to be disappointed.

In the two months since the impeachment inquiry was authorized, their star witness — the man whose claims were the heart of the Republicans’ case — was arrested for lying to the FBI about the Bidens. What’s more, as a new Washington Post report noted, congressional investigators have “compiled an extensive record of sworn statements from firsthand witnesses,” all of whom have confirmed that the president “was never involved” with his son’s business affairs.

But he has handed the democrats a great political issue to slap around republican candidates.

Paid somewhat over the mark. Laughing. Why would you suppose that happened?

For the reasons stated. Cashing in on the Biden name and his own reputation for not being particularly scrupulous.

SWALWELL: Any time your father was in government, prior to the Presidency or before, did he ever operate a hotel?

BIDEN: No, he has never operated a hotel.

SWALWELL: So he’s never operated a hotel where foreign nationals spent millions at that hotel while he was in office?

BIDEN: No, he has not.

SWALWELL: Did your father ever employ in the Oval Office any direct family member to also work in the Oval Office?

BIDEN: My father has never employed any direct family members, to my knowledge.

SWALWELL: While your father was President, did anyone in the family receive 41 trademarks from China?

BIDEN: No.

SWALWELL: As President and the leader of the party, has your father ever tried to install as the chairperson of the party a daughter-in-law or anyone else in the family?

BIDEN: No. And I don’t think that anyone in my family would be crazy enough to want to be the chairperson of the DNC.

SWALWELL: Has your father ever in his time as an adult been fined $355 million by any State that he worked in?

BIDEN: No, he has not, thank God.

SWALWELL: Anyone in your family ever strike a multibillion dollar deal with the Saudi Government while your father was in office?

BIDEN: No.

SWALWELL: That’s all I’ve got.

O
All these things were being done by the Trump crime family, not Biden and his family.
I understand clearly what the deflection is by Biden's attorney. "Don't look at what I did and said. Look over there!"

I simply don't understand the purpose of posting this nonresponsive statement here in a post that is not about Trump.
