I agree with that.

If they are they shouldn't be. From what I read about the makeup of the jury it's likely that there a some strong personalities that are not adverse to Trump or honorable enough to give an unbiased verdict.
It only takes one.

Hope Hicks testified that Trump was worried about his wife finding out about the Stormy Daniels story and even ordered that no newspapers be delivered to their home.
Trump can be worried about his wife finding out and the voters finding out.

The future ex-First Lady could probably be made to see reason, but why chance it?
She could have threatened to ruin his election unless her demands were met.
Overall this was “the smart move”, but then they Mickey Moused the bookkeeping which is why we’re hearing about it all, now.

Maybe not but the jury read a transcript of what was said on the video. Supposedly this was to establish that this had already came out and Trump was worried about any more damaging information coming out.
I think it was unnecessary and prejudicial

Yes and I find myself in a strange situation. I abandoned Trump after the election and couldn’t support what he did. I pointed out that he often says stupid and sometimes indefensible things. I said I wouldn’t vote for him in the primary. But he is the nominee and here I am taking his side. This must be what it feels like to support Joe Biden while knowing that he is not all there

If true, it does not affect the trial at hand concerning falsification of business records.

Yeah Cohen can testify that Trump should go to jail for following the legal advice that he gave him. Should be interesting

Cohen told Trump to falsify his business documents? I doubt that.

Cohen told Trump he wanted to get reimbursed. It's not his fault Trump paid him and did some dodgy accounting.

If you’re a billionaire running a corporation do you handle the book keeping for every transaction? Doesn’t seem likely.

It is probably useful to not think of the Trump Organization as a traditional corporation, but more of as a family business with a modest number of high-value assets. In this case the payments directly related to the head of the company and HE SIGNED THE CHECKS HIMSELF.

Hicks and others testifed that Trump was a micro manager. And clearly, this transaction was of great interest to Trump given the risk to the campaign.

She testified, interspersing plenty of apologetic compliments, that Mr. Trump was an image-obsessed micromanager. She also acknowledged that it seemed implausible that Michael D. Cohen, Mr. Trump’s fixer, would pay hush money to the porn star, Stormy Daniels, without the then-candidate’s say-so.

And Ms. Hicks testified that Mr. Trump had shown awareness of that payoff years after the fact. “Mr. Trump’s opinion,” she said, was that “it would have been bad to have that story come out before the election.”

Not for every transaction, but for the ones you want to hide and falsely count as a business/legal expense, sure. How would the bookkeeper know to make a false entry unless directed?

Nah, not really. Regardless of any disagreements I have with Biden, I'm confident that he is fundamentally a good person and has surrounded himself with other good people, and that they will do the right thing when it counts.

You’re a smart person and you typically answer posts with intellect and reason. I have a hard time believing you don’t see all the problems we currently have under Biden’s leadership

There are certainly some things that aren't going well - as there are under any president. However, most of the issues that I see talked about, I either don't see as being actual problems, or cannot tie to any specific policy pushed by Biden.

Ultimately, it's very difficult for a president to irreparably damage the country (from a policy perspective) in 4, or even 8 years. Executive orders have limited scope, and Congress exists to act as a check for any serious legislation. However, as we've seen with Trump, giving a hateful person a platform can do a great deal of damage to the societal fabric. So, first and foremost, when I vote for a politician, I consider character. Do they seem like a fundamentally good person? Someone who can't pass that most basic of tests will never get my vote, no matter what letter is after their name. If Trump were running as a Democrat, I would not vote for him. I wouldn't necessarily vote for his Republican opponent (whoever that may be), but I am not so partisan that I would vote for a clearly unsuitable candidate just to deny the other party from office.

I agree that actually reading what was said on the video is prejudicial.

However mentioning the access Hollywood tape scandal is relevant because Trump made the ridiculous claim he was NOT thinking about how the Stormy Daniels and Karen Macdougal stories would influence the election at all he was ONLY worried about his wife,
Trump was clearly wanted to be president and his team was in damage control mode because of access Hollywood tape when the Daniels and MacDougal stories were caught and killed.

I don’t think Trump has made any claim because he hasn’t testified. Maybe his lawyers made that claim, I don’t know. I have seen news stories making that claim but I haven’t seen direct quotes from Trump, I could have missed something though.
