I am trying to do some research on what day the Sabbath was originally honored and when did it change if it changed and does it matter?

Sabbath Worship
I fully believe we should all keep all Sabbath, but can never get answers from those that believe in Saturday worship only the answers to my questions:
I think the priests did follow the Sabbath Rest since “worship” is not work and the priests were to worship and not work all the time (the other Jews were to support them). By increasing the commands on Christians and providing a constant partner (the Spirit), Christian’s today can be in constant worship as long as what you are doing is in obedience to God’s commands and that obedience is offered up as worship, so we are in the Sabbath Rest. To suggest today we just do “Sabbath Rest” one day a week is also to suggest the other 6 days are ours?
- Is a Sabbath a Saturday or is Saturday a Sabbath with other days also Sabbaths like: Passover and the day of Atonement and every day in the year of Jubilee?
- Are Christians today to be like the regular Jews of the Old Testament or are we to be like the priestly tribe of the Old Testament?
- Are Christians today to be that nation of priests (Ex. 19:6, 1 Peter 2:9) and not just a Jewish like nation?
- Did the Priests offer up even more sacrifices and were they doing more worshipping activities on the Sabbaths? If so were the Priests keeping the Sabbath Rest?
- Is worship to God “work” by God’s definition?
- We know van worship is offering up to God obedience to man’s commands, so could righteous worship be offering up to God obedience to God’s commands?
- If Christians are Priests, the temple of God, carrying the altar with them (cross), and constantly offering up themselves as a living sacrifice then: when are Christians not worshipping and should they ever stop?
- Did Christ expand the Old Testament commands to include our thoughts and lots more actions?
- For the Priests what is the Sabbath Rest and so what is the Sabbath Rest to be for Christians?
- Some of the Jewish scholars prior to Christ seemed to have discussed (records are not perfect on this) that there was a coming “Age of Jubilee”, do you see that description fitting the Christian Dispensation we are part of?
I believe "Sabbath" is the word "Saturday" is based on. The bible calls it a day of rest. It also says the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. It is for rest.
Regarding worship, I do it every day. And I meet with other Christians to worship and learn together weekly, on Sunday. But it has nothing to do with the sabbath.
I think a lot of these interdenominational arguments are similar to a car that is out of alignment. So why are these religious leaders condemning those who go to church on Sunday? You know, I was perfectly fine with my Sunday day of Worship but my cousin doesn't want me to perish....which I assured him I was saved and that the day I went to church has nothing to do with salvation but I do not want to be ignorant of this since I have never really studied it.
I was in a southern gospel band that would visit local rural small baptist churches. One of the members would talk (over the mic) about the sins of people who were not there and one day I finally reacted.if the goal of getting saved had been making better Jews, then the Sabbath is Saturday and all the Laws apply, if the goal of getting saved wasn't about making better Jews then the Sabbath was done away with in regards to making you required to keep it. If you'd like to keep it you can, just don't judge people who don't, if you don't want to follow the Sabbath Laws then don't judge people who do. I think the main point to take away from this is: "Do what you feel led to do and don't judge people who feel led differently."
tulc(knows it's easier to judge then assume others can follow the Lord in ways that are different from your own but that's how it is)![]()
I agree, though I confess I use the English translation to describe it: Saturday. The only day that is THE Sabbath is on the 7th day

My point is that it is a name for the seventh day of the week. The word Saturday is from Saturns day...pagan. The Russian word is Subota...from Sabbath.
Those are resting in Christ are the ones who are actually keeping the Sabbath.
Those who make it about a certain day normally attach a lot of rules that need to be kept to observe Sabbath.
You can only walk so far.
Some will even tell you that to use electricity is on Sabbath day is breaking the Sabbath.

Saturday is literally 'Saturn's day' in honor of the Roman deity Saturn. Nothing Christian or Jewish about that. Otherdays of the week are similar. Thursday is 'Thor's day'. And so it goes.I believe "Sabbath" is the word "Saturday" is based on. The bible calls it a day of rest. It also says the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. It is for rest.
So by NOT keeping the Sabbath, you are actually keeping it better than someone who does keep the Sabbath...?? Um, really? Many of the rules the Rabbis put around Shabbat were a hedge so there was no way you would break it. Many are manmade rules.
