Col 2:17, rituals are "shadows of things to come", resembles the Lord's Prayer, "as in heaven so upon the earth", as well as Creation, God "maketh man in God's shadow (selem, H6754)" image.

What is seen on earth mimics and mirrors heavenly phenomena. The 2D surface of earth is a shadow mirror of 3D heaven:

Earth <---> Universe

Given God in heaven's sovereign control, humans who yield to divine commands become like remotely controlled avatar drones, akin to paid actors on a world stage. Through their actions, believers act out a Divide Play on the earth. "Actions speak louder than words." Just as the direct words of God in heaven to earth are meaningful, intelligible, cogent communications, so too the actions of God's followers comprise a meaningful message as well. Vaguely like watching a "super Shakespearian super play" and inferring a moral and meaning therefrom.

In ultra brief and crude summary, one pattern I perceive is the following:
  • Ancient Sumer, before Noah's flood, was pure positive for earth. They developed agriculture and irrigation, metallurgy and basic engineering mechanisms (wheel, axle, inclined plane, pulleys, levers), money and reading /writing /arithmetic to manage the same. But then they got taken over by hostile idolatrous priesthoods, who started wars to take slaves even for human sacrifice, and Sumer was transmuted into the first three beasts of Daniel. They became a powerful, sophisticated, advanced, hostile, aggressive, expanding, central civilization crushing outlying rural barbarian hinterlands, eventually reaching Greece in the days of Darius and Xerxes.
  • Classical Rome's Republic was a positive improvement enough that their neighbors fought to join the Republic in the social war of the first century BC. But then they got taken over by the Caesars and their cults of followers, and Rome was transmuted into the fourth beast of Daniel. They became a powerful, sophisticated, advanced, hostile, aggressive, expanding, central civilization crushing outlying rural barbarian hinterlands, conquering Greece and the rest of the Mediterranean.
Similar to how a person can be possessed, whole societies can be corrupted. Once corrupted, the "possessed culture" transmutes into a beastly aggressor.
  • Other examples could perhaps be given
  • Today, cities are full of advanced and wealthy tech companies of certain political persuasion, but many others feel like they have been coopted to become powerful, sophisticated, advanced, hostile, aggressive, expanding, centres of civilization crushingly out voting outlying rural "barbarian" hinterland communities, conquering America politically, arguably like Gog and Magog.
Humans yield Sovereign control of themselves to the "Principalities and Powers" of heaven, who thereby communicate articulately to earth, through the events They thusly control, to wit, human history on earth (which is made to mimetically mirror Heavenly affairs). Human history repeats itself, because the same species of humans on the same planet earth keeps yielding to the same Heavenly Powers who keep saying the same thing.

It is a universal principle of communication that repetition is emphasis. For example, "that is a fast fast fast car!" Accordingly, since earth mimetically represents the heavens, I perceive that God in heaven is for some reason communicating to earth, in no uncertain and emphatic terms, something about a "powerful, sophisticated, advanced, hostile, aggressive, expanding, central Heavenly super civilization crushing outlying barbarian hinter worlds"

"Space Mordor is coming your way, fair warning"

Possible interpretation:

one space warning (Surah 28:59)
5 space minutes (Hard Target)
to take maybe 3 space steps (Lynyrd Skynyrd)

"Space Mordor is coming your way, fair warning"
Funny.

Serpent in the garden turned into the Great Red Dragon. The beast, the dragon and the false prophet are all "spirits of devils." No one can make war with enemies unseen. Those who claim they do are swinging in the air, pointlessly, never once connecting a shot to the chin of our adversary.

But God's Word has painted a bright red BULLSEYE on that adversary. It's not our fellow man. IF you pull on the purse strings of the LAW you might even hear that adversary speak up and claim he's LEGALLY OBEDIENT. Oh, what a funny liar.

Has anyone seen this bad actor yet? Nope. But it is as apparent as the nose on our collective human history faces

As it pertains to the laws then, who among us can claim we are:

Exempt from the acts of spiritual disobedience in the forms of evil thoughts that defile us? Mark me as a truth teller when I claim no exemptions to the reality of Mark 7:21-23. Remember that the devil can't really "tell the truth." But believers CAN. It's part of our super power from Above. Does Mark 7:21-23 apply to you? Tell the truth now.

Does our adversary working in us obey the laws? Uh, history lesson: That hasn't happened yet, with only ONE human exception. The first and last exception.

Dead men follow no laws.

God is LOVE. Every command in the scripture is only ONE LAW, the law of the Living One: Romans 13:8-10

And it is not "us" who perform that law. We are dead. Christ is ALIVE.

Marked yet? Prove it by loving all our neighbors and resisting our adversary, simultaneously

ProTip: Remember when sitting in the pew, it's not just you sitting there. The tempter will tell you you're all good dog every day of the week including Saturday and Sunday

Brother, they have the truth!
Brother, the weekly Sabbath is a shadow? Okay, awesome

If you died with Christ from the elemental spirits of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, 21 “Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch” 22 (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?

Don't handle, taste, touch... mow your lawn or watch TV...
all teachings of humans today

He is our God. We are the people of his pasture, and the sheep in his care. Today, Oh that you would hear his voice!

Judaism's understanding of all Sabbaths in Jerusalem is a shadow of the reality Jesus shared with us through Paul in the book of Hebrews, where God tells us that He prevented Israel from entering the Sabbath by "oath" during the 40 years with Manna by having them keep the true seventh day of the week, which is a half a day too late to enter the Sabbath near Jerusalem. The Sabbath they kept with Manna is only correct at the site of creation in Eden but not near Jerusalem, where it prevented them from entering the Sabbath for 40 years as punishment by "oath".

Later, after the Manna stopped, they transitioned to the Sabbath that God gave them for Jerusalem, which was earlier by half a day from the Sabbath that they kept with Manna for 40 years when God had prevented them by "oath" from entering the Sabbath with Manna. Joshua assumed God was making changes to the beginning of the day because of the earlier Sabbath, but this was not the correct view of this earlier Sabbath in Jerusalem. God had changed the beginning of the year, but not the beginning of the days of the week, when He gave Israel an earlier Sabbath by half a day from the seventh day of the week in Jerusalem. All Sabbaths in Jerusalem are misunderstood as falling on a day of the week when they are half a day earlier than a weekday. All Sabbaths fall between two days of the week in Jerusalem.

God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God. For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said, “In my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest,’” even though this rest has been ready since he made the world. We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work.” But in the other passage God said, “They will never enter my place of rest.” So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. GOD ANNOUNCED THIS THROUGH DAVID MUCH LATER in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” Now IF JOSHUA HAD SUCCEEDED IN GIVING THEM THIS REST, GOD WOULD NOT HAVE SPOKEN ABOUT ANOTHER DAY of rest still to come. So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. (Hebrews 4:1-11 NLT)

United in our hope for the soon return of Jesus, Jorge

Brother, a shadow, since Judaism misinterpreted the Sabbath in relation to the true days of the week prior to Jesus since Joshua.

Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. (Hebrews 4:8 NLT)

The reality recorded in God's word from the beginning that was not understood by humans until Jesus corrected us through Paul in the book of Hebrews is that the Sabbath is fixed in the time zone of creation and does not circle the earth with the week. The Sabbath is evidence of God's existence for us in these last days. This is why we are asked to keep the true Sabbath in the Book of Hebrews of the New Covenant, corrected from human tradition since Joshua. The passage says that there will be a correction by Jesus to our misunderstanding of the Sabbaths in Judaism since Joshua.

So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality. (Colossians 2:16-17 NLT)

Below is the reality from Jesus of a correction in the “day” of the shadow of the Sabbaths in Judaism since Joshua.

I hear you, brother  Sunrise causes shadows. Of course, the Sabbath can be kept if a person feels lead of God to do so. One person regards one day as special, another regards every day alike

Let those who fear the Lord say,
His steadfast love endures forever Psalm 118

Brother, God warns us in the New Covenant of our impending fall if we disobey God, as Israel did when God, angry, prevented them from entering the Sabbath by means of an "oath" for 40 years with manna. The passage tells us that if we do not enter the Sabbath, as Israel disobeyed God's instructions, we will fall.

Since the Sabbath, corrected from human tradition, is evidence of God's existence to keep our faith firm in these last days, I can understand how its non-observance will lead to a "fall" when things get harder before Jesus' soon return.

It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. (Hebrews 11:5-6 NLT)

We can only contribute to God's plan to reach others and prepare them for Jesus' return by sharing the truth about the Sabbath in the book of Hebrews. We must not replace the truth with human traditions that contradict it, as Jesus warned us with numerous examples from Judaism.

“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either. “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are! “Blind guides! What sorrow awaits you! For you say that it means nothing to swear ‘by God’s Temple,’ but that it is binding to swear ‘by the gold in the Temple.’ Blind fools! Which is more important—the gold or the Temple that makes the gold sacred? And you say that to swear ‘by the altar’ is not binding, but to swear ‘by the gifts on the altar’ is binding. How blind! For which is more important—the gift on the altar or the altar that makes the gift sacred? When you swear ‘by the altar,’ you are swearing by it and by everything on it. And when you swear ‘by the Temple,’ you are swearing by it and by God, who lives in it. And when you swear ‘by heaven,’ you are swearing by the throne of God and by God, who sits on the throne. (Matthew 23:13-22 NLT)

Brother, God leads those who believe in Jesus ✝ I don't think that has stopped being true since Jesus sent the Holy Spirit

and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”

Brother, God leads those who believe in Jesus ✝ I don't think that has stopped being true since Jesus sent the Holy Spirit
Brother, people misunderstand Paul's use of the word "Spirit" in replacing the law with the "Spirit". Paul is not referring to the Holy Spirit, as the translators forced contrary to context, but to Jesus as our role model of obedience to what is written in stone, as superior in showing us how to obey the Ten Commandments than having only what was written in stone. Paul tells us that his use of the word "Spirit" refers to Jesus, not the Holy Spirit, in the context of his message about replacing the law with the "Spirit".

We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ (as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror). It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own (like excusing our disobedience of the Ten Commandments as coming from the Holy Spirit). Our qualification comes from God (sending us Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror). He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant (Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror). This is a covenant not of the letter (Ten Commandments), but of the Spirit (Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror and not the Holy Spirit used as an excuse to disobey the Ten Commandments when Jesus obeyed them). The letter ends in death (sabotaged by Judaism to not remove sin); but the Spirit (Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror) gives life (the removal of Judaism's disobedience to obey completely the Ten Commandments). The old way (God's "order" by the prophet Moses), with letters etched in stone (Ten Commandments), led to death (sabotaged by Judaism to not remove sin), though it began with such glory (leading to righteousness) that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God (which is His righteousness expressed in the Ten Commandments), even though the brightness was already fading away (Judaism's disobedience to the Ten Commandments). Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way (Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror who obeyed completely the Ten Commandments for us to do likewise), now that the Holy (added by the translators) Spirit (not the Holy Spirit but Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror) gives life? If the old way (written letters etched in stone), which brings condemnation (Judaism disobeys the Ten Commandments by replacing them with human traditions), was glorious (leading to righteousness), how much more glorious (leading to righteousness) is the new way (Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror), which makes us right with God (removes sin)! In fact, that first glory (which led to righteousness) was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory (leading to righteousness) of the new way (Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror). So if the old way (written letters etched in stone), which has been replaced, was glorious (led to righteousness), how much more glorious (leading to righteousness) is the new (Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror), which remains forever! Since this new way (of imaging as in a mirror the model "Spirit" of Jesus, rather than Judaism's disobedience) gives us such confidence, we can be very bold (learning to use God's name properly, which Judaism does not). We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory (of God's righteousness), even though it was destined to fade away (by Judaism's growing disobedience to the Ten Commandments). But the people’s minds were hardened (to disobey the Ten Commandments), and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth (of their disobedience by replacing God's Commandments with their own human traditions). And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ (as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror). Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand (they disobey the Ten Commandments by substituting them with human traditions). But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit (Jesus is the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror who obeyed the Ten Commandments as our example and Paul is not referring to the Holy Spirit as an excuse to disobey the Ten Commandments), and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (from sin and not from God's Ten Commandments). So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord (in obeying completely the Ten Commandments by removing Judaism's disobedience). And the Lord—who is the Spirit (Jesus is the model "Spirit" Paul is telling us to image as in a mirror and not the Holy Spirit, whose job is to tell us things through prophets and remind us of Jesus as the model "Spirit" to image as in a mirror)—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. (2 Corinthians 3:4-18 NLT fixed and overlaid with commentary)

Brother, just earlier in Colossians 2,

that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden!

Praise the Lord!

His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Selah! Psalm 87

Brother, just earlier in Colossians 2,

that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden!
Brother, Paul speaks of the "truth" about how to obey the Ten Commandments as coming from the visible Jesus and people want it to be the invisible Holy Spirit, which makes a big difference in helping their "desires" to disobey the Ten Commandments, since Jesus is a role model of obedience in the flesh to the Ten Commandments, but people don't want to obey the Ten Commandments.

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. (Galatians 5:16-18 NLT fixed)

People want the opposite of what God wants and "will reject the truth and chase after myths,” wanting it to be the Holy Spirit because they can shape His silence to their liking, rather than Paul speaking of the visible Jesus who shows us the "truth" about how to be like God in the flesh.

I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. (2 Timothy 4:1-5 NLT)

What better way to know the "truth" about God than for God to be among us as one of us? Where we can see how He is as one of us! Paul's message is that the "truth" about how to obey God's Ten Commandments came from Jesus as the superior "role model" to what was written in stone rather than Judaism's disobedience of the Ten Commandments.

From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love/grace and faithfulness/truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. (John 1:16-18 NLT fixed)

O my brother, it can be the invisible Christ

John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

Psalm 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments

O my brother, it can be the invisible Christ
Brother, we have the account of those who walked with Jesus to understand the "truth" about the difference between Jesus and the human traditions of Judaism that hide the glory of God revealed in the Ten Commandments. In the following passage Paul explains how the "veil" that hid the "truth" about the glory of God revealed in the Ten Commandments, which were disobeyed in Judaism by adding human traditions, is lifted thanks to Jesus' example of obedience to the Ten Commandments written in stone, which Jesus exemplified in the flesh as our model to follow.

But whenever someone turns to the Lord (Jesus), the veil (Judaism's human traditions that cancel the glory of God) is taken away. For the Lord (Jesus) is the Spirit (Jesus is the Spirit Paul speaks of as a role model of obedience superior to the Ten Commandments written in stone), and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is (circumcising us of the veil in Judaism), there is freedom (from sin and not from the Ten Commandments that remove sin when obeyed). So all of us who have had that veil (Judaism's human traditions that cancel the glory of God) removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord (obedience to the Ten Commandments by copying the image of Jesus as a role model and not the Holy Spirit as an excuse to disobey the Ten Commandments that remove sin when obeyed). And the Lord (Jesus)—who is the Spirit (Jesus is the Spirit)—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image (Jesus as role model of obedience to the Ten Commandments written in stone). Brother, the Jewish people definitely added lots of things, didn't they

Matthew 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not lift a finger to help them

The LORD's Law is perfect, restoring the soul. The LORD's testimony is sure, making wise the simple.
The LORD's precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. The LORD's commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Brother, we, to a greater extent, do not listen to Jesus as they, to a lesser extent, did not listen to Moses in the following passage.

Jesus replied, “You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commandments from God.’ For you ignore God’s law(nomos)/commandment(entolé) and substitute your own tradition.” Then he said, “You skillfully sidestep God’s law(nomos)/commandment(entolé) in order to hold on to your own tradition. For instance, Moses gave you this law(nomos)/commandment(entolé) from God: ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’ In this way, you let them disregard their needy parents. And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others.” (Mark 7:6-13 NLT fixed)

The above, for not listening to Moses, can be said even more of us for not listening to Jesus' correction about the Sabbath in the book of Hebrews as dramatized below.

And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others.” (Mark 7:6-13 contemporized)

I have told the glad news of deliverance

behold, I have not restrained my lips
as you know

Brother, many have, but not everyone
Brother, happy Sabbath that began this Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11:51 a.m. EDT! I recently started a conversation with a question. Does anyone in your family go to church? Her response was that she used to go when she was a child. I told her: I'm a Seventh-day Adventist by birth, and while taking care of my mother, I started talking to others online about the Bible. I made a discovery and wrote a book about it. Then I gave her a card with a link to my website and told her: what I discovered is that the Sabbath is evidence of God's existence. It shows He's been with us from the beginning and that He's in control of His word. If all those prophets had spoken for themselves, they would have been wrong about the Sabbath because they misunderstood it, but the Bible consistently gives us the truth about the Sabbath that no human being had understood fully until Jesus corrected us in the New Testament book of Hebrews, chapter 4. Then I told her: this could revive your interest in the Bible! After walking further, I continued with a second question. Are you familiar with the International Date Line? She shook her head no. Then I said: It's a line that, if flown over, could have you go back one day—this shows how important this line is in establishing the days of the week. By making the correction to the Sabbath given to us in the New Covenant, I came to understand that God started the International Date Line. It is not based on astronomical bodies and could only have been established in the beginning, when God taught our first parents to count the days of the week. The biblical Sabbath shows that God has been with us from the beginning and that He controls His word, which He gave us through inspiration using many prophets that have collected His word in the Bible. The Sabbath makes the Bible through so many prophets who did not fully understand what God was consistently sharing about the Sabbath, proof of God's inspiration, which is our best evidence of God's existence.

Amen to God being with us from the beginning, brother

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit

Now I say this that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ Colossians 2

Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses...
...The apostles and elders met to consider this question...

[The conclusion was:]
It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.
...The people read it and were glad for its encouraging message.

Acts 15

“The Law and the Prophets were until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it."
Lk 16:16

I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.
Gal 5:3
- only those who are circumcised are obligated to obey the whole law
In the context of Paul verses Christ, in the OT circumcision was a prerequisite for entering int the covenant for the covenant begins with Abraham.

Changing Laws and times is how we recognize the beast, the anti-Christ and the false prophet, should these be different entities, who changed the Law, was it Jesus or was it Paul who changed the Law, or was the Law not changed?

Ga. 5:1, Paul calls the Law (covenant) a yoke of bondage, in Ga. 5:2, "I Paul says to you", 5:3, Christ will profit nothing. God said the Law was perfect, Jesus said the Pharisees made the Law a heavy burden, Jesus said the Law may not be changed, I assume he means the covenant cannot be changed, the OT cannot be changed. What part of the whole Law offended Paul, what part of the Law was a yoke of bondage. If Paul wrote Galatians chapter 5 and not some editor, then Paul is in error.
