I am honestly not sure where all the hatred for Elon comes from.
You are kidding me, right? You know about all the court cases reversing all his idiotic acts? You've heard about all the people being reinstated after being fired? You've heard about all the aid being restarted after being terminated (and some of that was emergency food for starving people in Sudan and other parts of Africa)? You saw him waving a chainsaw around on stage like some lunatic?

When I was 17 my father died and through a government program I got $400 a month. That was a lot of money in 1981. The next year Reagan cut the program and unless you were a full time college student you couldn't get the money anymore.
So my senior year I had to go to college full time at night so I wouldn't lose the money.
Then they decided to cut that so that each year I got less and less.
The people that graduated the year before me got the full amount all the way through college.
I never said Reagan was an evil man or vandalized any government buildings

Well, good for you.

Now say you are married. Hefty mortgage. Pay a lot for school fees. Your wife needs meds which are expensive. But you've got a good job, just got promoted, boss thinks a lot of you. You've been there years. Really enjoy the work. Then you get an email from some guy, a billionaire, an unelected nobody, saying that you've been sacked. No reason, no meetings to discuss it. You're out. Right now. Security will see you to the exit. Here's a cardboard box to put your personal things in. Hasta la vista, buddy. Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

Now multiply that by a few tens of thousands. You think that one or two aren't going to get very angry indeed? I'm actually astonished it's just a few cars getting torched. I really am. Do I condone it? No, I most definitely do not. But you'd have to have zero comprehension of human nature to be surprised at it.

Partisan court cases are just that--they mean nothing

Elon's task has been to find inefficiencies, waste, and fraud in government programs. He said that mistakes could be made, but the project is needed. Some people might can fired and reinstated. Others will be let go for good reason

that isn't going to make Elon popular among the government workforce.

the USAID program needed to be abolished because it was 80% waste, fraud, and abuse. Did it feed some people in Africa? I am sure it did.

And newsflash: we do NOT want to "feed people in poor countries". Why? Because when you dump grain, corn, etc. into a country to feed the population, it destroys local farmers (can't sell agricultural products if the US is shipping it in for free). So fields remain unplanted and unharvested. Likewise, direct money payments to poor countries prevents businesses from being established, and creates dependency.

Instead of building up foreign nations economically and financially, we turn them into welfare cases. They stay poor, and don't become trading partners.

but let me ask you this: what is the #1 reason countries in Africa cannot grow their economies and feed their people?

Then should we expect fire bombings at John Deere, Boeing, Amazon, tech companies and others? Should we not be surprised?
  • Ongoing Trend:
Layoffs and workforce reductions continue into 2025, following significant job cuts in 2024.

  • Affected Sectors:
Tech, media, finance, manufacturing, retail, and energy are among the sectors experiencing layoffs.

  • Companies Involved:
Companies like Meta, Microsoft, BlackRock, Chevron, Starbucks, Porsche, and Wayfair have been mentioned in connection with layoffs.

  • Specific Examples:
    • USPS: Plans to cut 10,000 jobs using a voluntary early retirement program.

    • Johns Hopkins University: Will cut more than 2,000 jobs due to funding issues.

    • Amazon: Plans to cut 14,000 managerial positions globally.

    • Boeing: Laid off 400 employees from its moon rocket program.

    • Blue Origin: Cut 1,400 jobs (10% of workforce).

    • Starbucks: Laying off 1,100 corporate employees globally.
  • Tech Layoffs:
At least 95,000 workers at U.S.-based tech companies were laid off in mass job cuts in 2024, and the cuts have continued into 2025.

  • Reasons for Layoffs:
Companies are citing factors like cost-cutting, restructuring, and economic uncertainty as reasons for layoffs.

  • I have been laid off without notice and I suggest these people do what I did, find another job. 95,000 had to last year and nothing was fire bombed

He's made so many that I'm honestly losing track of the court cases where his original plans have been reversed. Straight up, every time I open the paper there's another one.

Don't be nonsensical. That's not worth a response.

What’s the difference? 95,000 people were laid off last year and nothing like this happened. I seriously doubt that the people fire bombing Teslas, vandalizing them and wiping feces on them are laid off government employees.
If they are their time would be better spent doing what I did when I was laid off without notice, finding another job

And good to see those on the right now embracing electric cars. That changed pretty quickly. As did my impressions off Musk. I thought he was an OK guy but he wasn't really on my radar. Now he is. Now I know better.

"It's a solid argument against carrying guns everywhere"

yeah that's all it is. Not an argument for like, maybe not being a psycho, or letting crazy people start riots?

I guess the solid argument against rape is not wearing a short skirt too right?
What? It's not anything like that. It is a well known fact that people who are armed are more likely to commit shootings after a conflict encounter. Unarmed people rarely take the effort to go get their guns and come back (this certainly happens), where as armed people can take the easier path to shooting at the person they are angry with by just reaching for their little gun.

Trump removes President Biden's electric vehicle mandate, and removes charging stations from federal property....then turns around and buys a Tesla from his buddy Elon.

People change their minds, film at eleven.

-- A2SG, and in other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead....

Shame they changed their minds on protecting the environment and not damaging other people's property. I thought they cared.
