How to absolutely know for sure you're saved

Ok so i'm freaking out right now over here. I need to absolutely, 100% foolproof, 100% watertight, no doubt know for sure if I'm saved. I'm a believer and baptized but I cannot say 100% for sure if I'm saved. I've been fighting and searching everywhere for the past 5 years but I cannot know it for sure unless God told it to me personally. I've asked other believers, spend hundreds of hours on the internet searching and analysing every article there is on this topic, thousands of hours ruminating in my head but I cannot come to absolute certainty. I cannot go to the bible because there are enough verses that hinge on the possibility that I might not be saved and I need to know 100% for sure. I cannot live by faith alone, there is too much at stake here, I NEED TO KNOW FOR SURE!

Praying Romans 8:16 for you, David. Pray His Words to Him and claim it every single day... every single day!

Don't DARE close off to His Word, otherwise how will you recognize His voice when you hear Him? Keep seeking, keep trusting, and He will reconcile His Scripture for you in His time according to His priorities.

In the meantime, you are being tested - will you remain faithful in seeking Him and HIS will in prayer and Scripture daily?

Entirely in your hands, friend. He has infinite patience with you, have patience with Him.

Yes, habitual sin, not in the sense that I don't care about it but that I am too weak to resist it.

You won't know "for sure" until the day of judgement.
We have no guarantees.
Jesus said that he who endures until the end will be saved: so endure !
Live every day like it is the last day.
Fortunately, scripture tells us we will never be tempted above what we can handle..."There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor 10:13)

OK, now we're getting somewhere. I'm going to assume that we aren't talking about something beyond the pale of normalcy and that your struggles are of the same sort that most young men deal with.

You are correct when you say that you are too weak.

His strength is perfected in your weakness. Are you familiar with this passage of scripture?

We are going to learn today how to apply it to your life. And don't believe anyone who tells you you can't know if you are saved. Christ is your salvation.

With you "in Christ", (Rom 6:3), and Christ in you, (Gal 3:27), how can you fail ?
Believe that the works/deeds you do, are Christ's works and deeds through you !

You do a self examination ... ie .... are you trending more towards sin or away from it? If one is trending more away from sin ... their faith will increase ... we can not overcome sin without the help of Jesus and if we recognize that Jesus is helping us ... will He not finish His work? Yes He will.

Philippians 1:6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

We are His work in progress .... we should be experiencing progress (away from sin) knowing we will indeed stumble here and there.

I have no doubt He will finish His work.
