Hi everyone. I'm at a point in my life where I have reached a spiritual happiness that I didn't think was possible. With that said, I have suffered with terrible bouts of rumination which come and go. I think I've laid most or even all of them to rest finally, but one has just popped up trying to sabotage my new found happiness. This rumination involves a friend who said a long time he could "summon and show demons in people". I curiously asked what he was talking about, and he claimed that "his relative had an exorcism and it was filmed." He went on to say that he repeated the words of the priest, or whoever was performing it in the video, while a person/people were sleeping/passed out at some type of gathering. He then went on to say they were doing typical actions exorcism recipients do like swearing.
Now this person, has, or at least had, some undiagnosed mental health issues and had a history of telling stories that most likely are not true. I believe he was most likely telling a story that either didn't happen or may have happened, but padded it with his imagination or delusion as if it was an actual religious phenomenon that took place. This is where my rumination comes in. I have pretty much laughed it off over the years, but I just regained a rumination of this story that God/Jesus can be easily manipulated by humans by saying specific exorcism text to show demons in random people for their own twisted entertainment. I can't confirm or deny exorcism is real but I strongly believe it is possible. With that said, is this even possible for the layman just to casually "expose" demons in random people for fun? My brain seems to like to self-sabotage and "re-check" old ruminations to downplay positive experiences I'm having, but I am having trouble telling myself that a person can't 100% not just manipulate the divine by saying specific religious text.
Sorry for the long story, but I just need some guidance on this one from you guys. Thank you so much for listening and God bless.
