Hi everyone. I'm at a point in my life where I have reached a spiritual happiness that I didn't think was possible. With that said, I have suffered with terrible bouts of rumination which come and go. I think I've laid most or even all of them to rest finally, but one has just popped up trying to sabotage my new found happiness. This rumination involves a friend who said a long time he could "summon and show demons in people". I curiously asked what he was talking about, and he claimed that "his relative had an exorcism and it was filmed." He went on to say that he repeated the words of the priest, or whoever was performing it in the video, while a person/people were sleeping/passed out at some type of gathering. He then went on to say they were doing typical actions exorcism recipients do like swearing.
Now this person, has, or at least had, some undiagnosed mental health issues and had a history of telling stories that most likely are not true. I believe he was most likely telling a story that either didn't happen or may have happened, but padded it with his imagination or delusion as if it was an actual religious phenomenon that took place. This is where my rumination comes in. I have pretty much laughed it off over the years, but I just regained a rumination of this story that God/Jesus can be easily manipulated by humans by saying specific exorcism text to show demons in random people for their own twisted entertainment. I can't confirm or deny exorcism is real but I strongly believe it is possible. With that said, is this even possible for the layman just to casually "expose" demons in random people for fun? My brain seems to like to self-sabotage and "re-check" old ruminations to downplay positive experiences I'm having, but I am having trouble telling myself that a person can't 100% not just manipulate the divine by saying specific religious text.
Sorry for the long story, but I just need some guidance on this one from you guys. Thank you so much for listening and God bless.

These things happen but it is not God or Jesus that is doing it.

Your friends story may be legit, but basically the demons will manifest in a person to deceive people like this guy, to deceive them into thinking they have power over them. They dont.

Cant go into details but the estranged wife of a deliverance minister told me her side of the story..as in the guy is demon possessed himself.

Locally i know of a deliverance minister A who introduces to his friend deliverance minister B a non christian woman with a demon. When the marriage falls apart and B realizes his wife has a demon, he goes back to A to ask for help and A says "yeah i saw it in her when i introduced her to you."

So, these are two christians who have cast out demons before, together in other people, but lust slips in and A who knows the woman has a demon thinks to himself something along the lines of "maybe he can fix her"

My wife doesnt have the confidence to tell them to shut up yet, so sometimes demons will get agitated in homeless people, simply by her presence within 100 yards of them. In one case she was on a bus and she started praying for a guy and he started screaming "someone is praying for me and they should stop"...but he didnt know who so he did not get violent. -and thats one of the interesting things about the presence of the Holy Spirit in a person. God is in control of both its intensity and whether or not anyone can even feel it

I've had the opposite effect sometimes, they hid from me

I'm confused. Could you elaborate?

Jesus was accused of being evil exorcizing demons.
He said a house divided will not stand.

well i spoke to her enough to figure out that she was a christian, but had a demon herself, and was in denial about that.
he... the deliverance minister (has a youtube channel and charges money for exorcisms)... was found unable to cast it out.

she described the abuse that led to her leaving him. but she doesn't believe in divorce so they are estranged and don't live together.
but yes i would say he has a demon too.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I deeply appreciate it. I believe he has some form of schizophrenia and probably bipolar disorder and these claims were most likely delusions. I think what I was having the most difficulting with was the concept of anybody off the street casually repeating specific holy words and causing a random person to potentionally display involuntary responses. I suppose anything is possible, but this seems like something that can severly backfire on an individual who does this without proper training and maliciously and/or haphazardly.
