Let us suppose, for the sake of argument, that you have mind reading powers therefore have read Trump's mind and know that he got into the birther business because of the fact Obama was black.

That still doesn't support what you claimed, which was that Trump claimed that, because Obama was black, he wasn't American. Even if his embracing of birther theories was fueled by the fact Obama was black, that wasn't what Trump said. That might have been what he thought, but not what he said.

Though Trump also questioned whether Ted Cruz was eligible to be President either, and Cruz obviously isn't black.

You mean the one in the opening post? That's the apparent assertion of its author, but it looks to be little more than speculation on their part. The article even has to admit that NFL Spokesperson Brian McCarthy said (in regards to the claim it was changed to avoid offending Trump):

"This is a bull**** narrative. [Written the end zone] will be ‘Choose Love’. Teams have used on the field this year, ‘Vote,’ ‘End Racism,’ ‘Stop Hate,’ and ‘Choose Love.’ This is part of the NFL’s Inspire Change. We started the field stencils in 2020. For the championship games a couple weeks ago, the Chiefs had Choose Love and Eagles had End Racism. … ‘Choose Love’ is appropriate to use as our country has endured in recent weeks wildfires in southern California, the terrorist attack here in New Orleans, the plane and helicopter crash near our nation’s capital and the plane crash in Philadelphia.”

So your article is really just engaging in speculation. Was it to avoid offending Trump? Maybe. Though as Michie posted...

The NFL denied that Trump's presence at the game had anything to do with doing away with the stenciling and the league's commissioner said he doesn't believe the NFL's DEI programs (like the Rooney Rule, which we've reported on) are at odds with the Trump administration's efforts to ban them in government, and that the league plans to continue its initiatives.

So if you're trying to use your article as evidence, one has to note the general lack of evidence it actually seems to have.
