I read in post #379 that you thought the pro-life ad during the Super Bowl was great. Now you think the End Racism ad is a bad idea?
The Pro Life COMMERCIAL - was done well -

The in field plant of woke propaganda - is completely different.

There are many who claim to be Christians who don’t actually fit the description of “follower of Christ” which is what the word Christian actually means. Let’s not forget how many white Christians gave their life to combat racism and let’s also not forget who was actually capturing and enslaving people who were sold to American slave owners. So yeah there are good and bad in every demographic. If it wasn’t for white Christians there wouldn’t have been an Underground Railroad or a Civil War.
Yes. Abolitionist were also white Christians who fought to end slavery. Also, hundreds of thousands of white Christians fought and lost their lives in the Civil War.

Indeed, The pro-life commercial was well executed.

It's unfortunate that some Americans view efforts to address racism as a "woke" agenda.

Anyone heard of this guy? Makes a good living on riding the racism train.
———————-
There are the Black elites and then there are the rest of us. Ibram X. Kendi is one of them. Despite his middle class upbringing and current vast material wealth, he has made a living out of telling America that she is a systemically racist nation and that Blacks are her perpetual victim. He has also made a living out of telling Whites that they are racist unless they repent and become anti-racists in the manner formulated by him.

It is indeed exacerbated by the never ending accusations of the woke mob, that virtually everything is the result of racism - right down to the way roads and bridges are made. - It's overkill and people are tired of being bludgeoned by it's pervasiveness in virtually every facet of our lives.

I don’t disagree with you.

Some Americans politicize racism, pitting races against each other. Certain educated liberals disproportionately blame Caucasians for America's problems while ignoring racism in other races, even suggesting that European Caucasians are inherently racist. Asserting that racism is widespread in all aspects can be perceived as a biased statement intended to obtain influence.

However, racism, discrimination, and prejudice are significant issues in our society. Disregarding the experiences of those who encounter racism daily by labeling them as "woke" is itself an act of prejudice.

hogwah - I could not disagree more -

I am a minority - I've experienced first hand racism -

Not everything is an act of prejudice - we are just tired of hearing the same complaints day after day after day, in every facet of life.

Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you can react to it. I can take the times I wasn't treated well and live looking for it to happen again - or I can just forgive - forget and move on.

For some reason people have this idea that whites started slavery when it had actually been going on for centuries in Africa between POC.
I don't think that 'Hey, they started it first' is a good position from which to make a lucid argument against racism. I would think that 'we're all racist to some degree, whatever ethnic background we come from' might be a better starting point.

If you encounter discrimination and decide not to address it, that is your choice. Regardless of your personal choices, it remains a fact that discrimination is not considered acceptable behavior in our society.

It is not merely “Woke Liberal” discussing racism; it is the minorities themselves, who experience racism and discrimination, asserting that these issues are still prevalent.

Black Americans: A significant majority of Black Americans report experiencing racial discrimination. About 75% say they have faced discrimination, with 13% experiencing it regularly.

Hispanic Americans
: Around 76% of Hispanic Americans believe they face discrimination. This group often encounters issues related to immigration status and language barriers, which can exacerbate their experiences of racism.

Asian Americans: Approximately 70% of Asian Americans report facing discrimination. The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened anti-Asian sentiment, leading to increased incidents of hate crimes and discrimination2.

White Americans: While less prevalent, about 40% of White Americans feel they face some level of discrimination2. This perception varies widely and is often influenced by political and social contexts.

These statistics highlight the pervasive nature of racism across different communities in the U.S.

But are you sure you want to label all these people as "woke" and “hogwash”.? Why? Is it because it does not align with your political narrative?

I hope that Superbowl attendees with conscience will bring "end racism" posters to their seats and display them prominently in the direction of President Trump.

I hope that after the National Anthem attendees with conscience will shout "End Racism" at the top of their lungs!

Maybe the NFL is misjudging Trump. Maybe he wouldn't mind. I certainly expect that any President with the tiniest, slimmest thread of integrity wouldn't mind "End Racism." It is a sacred sentiment of justice---almost like a prayer lifted to the skies.

But it just increases the incredible pain I've had in my heart since January 20 to think that the NFL did judge correctly.

I'd like to see social justice messaging in sporting contests done away with just because I don't think it accomplishes anything.

However, are you comfortable with Budweiser spending millions on sporting events?

I don't drink alcohol. They can knock themselves out with other people's money. And I DVR everything I watch. I don't see their commercials anyway.

Apply this to any social justice message you disagree with.
