"Praying with Icons" by Jim Forest was a good read. "Everyday Saints" by Archimandrite Tikhon was very entertaining and thought-provoking, and was named Book of the Year in Russia in 2012.

Fr Anthony Coniaris is really prolific. I would recommend his book: Introducing the Orthodox Church to begin. Here is a long collection of his books;

Vladimir Lossky's The Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church.
John Meyendorff's Byzantine Theology: Historical Trends and Doctrinal Themes.
Alexander Schmemann's For the Life of the World: Sacraments and Orthodoxy.

For history, I'd recommend The Church in History series edited by John Meyendorff, particularly:

vol 3, Andrew Louth, Greek East and Latin West: The Church AD 681-1071
vol 4, Aristeides Papadakis, The Christian East and the Rise of the Papacy: The Church AD 1071-1453

Fr. Seraphim Rose: His Life and Works -- good for a practical example of lived Orthodoxy in modern America, and also hits on some theological topics when discussing Fr. Seraphim's writings.
