Elon Musk facing challenging balancing act to reform Twitter, Babylon Bee CEO says: 'I don't envy him'

The Babylon Bee, with the slogan "fake news you can trust," had its main account suspended by Twitter in March for "hateful content" after naming Biden official Dr. Rachel Levine, a transgender woman, as the company’s "Man of the Year." Dillion previously stated they will not delete the main account's tweet that led to its suspension.

Dillion previously stated they will not delete the main account's tweet that led to its suspension.

Dillon is now "hopeful" the platform will be improved under Musk's reign as he works to bring free speech opportunities to conservative voices that were silenced in the past, but also said many on the left will make it a challenging task.

Unfortunately FoxNews was the only one running this particular story...I typically try to avoid using their links due to the "well poisoning effect" it can have...

But I think Seth makes some valid points. Though I disagree with Seth on many an issue, I can appreciate his style of humor (as I'm a sucker for satire... I love Babylon Bee, The Onion, and The Hard Times), I wasn't fan of the humor policing that was happening on Twitter.

Searching for the Distressing Rise in Crime, Encountering Interesting Stats

The COO of one of our state newspapers said something interesting a few days ago. He said that the rise in the crime rate seems high because it is being compared to the pandemic days when everyone stayed home more, and in the early days, were almost completely quarantined.

That hardly sounds like a crazed revolution brought on by BLM, does it?

So then I went on a hunt, and discovered, unsurprisingly, that the lowest crime rates are in the heavily Democratic northeastern U.S. The worst rates are often in the South. Why am I not surprised? Well, I've lived in both areas of the country, and this is the one with all the guns.

Here are the 10 states with the highest crime rates:

  1. District of Columbia - 7,985.93 per 100,000 people
  2. New Mexico - 6,462.03 per 100,000 people
  3. Louisiana - 6,408.22 per 100,000 people
  4. Colorado - 6,090.76 per 100,000 people
  5. South Carolina - 5,972.84 per 100,000 people
  6. Arkansas - 5,898.75 per 100,000 people
  7. Oklahoma - 5,869.82 per 100,000 people
  8. Washington - 5,758.57 per 100,000 people
  9. Tennessee - 5,658.30 per 100,000 people
  10. Oregon - 5,609.89 per 100,000 people

Why would the devil care if some get saved?

Why would the devil care when a soul comes to salvation? Aren't most people going to join him in the lake of fire anyway? Commentators and the like make it seem like he loses big time when a person comes to saving faith but what does he lose exactly? Obviously he can't get everyone. Does he recieve greater condemnation the more people get saved or something?

The woman I loved, died September 5, 2021

She was only 5'3", and 52. Her autopsy results showed that she unknowingly had Heart Disease. She wasn't overweight. I keep a picture of her, on my desk. I also had a commemorative medallion made with her picture on it.

RE: Question on behalf of my church

Hello all,
So my church is a member of the Christian Reformed Congregation of America. Our pastor left us about two months or so ago to move his family to Japan. However now the congregation is wanting to begin looking for a new pastor. How does a church in the reformed doctrine begin this process? Is there an organization I could ask for assistance or a place my church council could look for help? The denomination is not very helpful for some reason.

Thanks for looking.

I am starting to prefer music over tv, movies and other video!

I am starting to prefer music over tv, movies and other video nowadays. I find I can do other things when I listen to music which is not same with video. Over the years, I have been seeing a growing need for music in my life because it has helped me get through tough times. I do have a tv yet leave it unplugged and covered with dust cover a lot now. I really don't see much need to watch it anymore. I find praise, worship, classical and some instrumental smooth jazz is what is speaking to me right now.

Yes, you are right. At a young age, I was so addicted to tv, & movies. I think this was my biggest mistake. it wasted most of my time But now, I understand how much potential worship music has. At starting it was so difficult to learn the chords of the worship songs but with the help of Worshipchords, youtube, etc it becomes so easy for me to play the chords of worship songs. I appreciate you starting this topic.

Someone Please Explain FTX

Seriously. I've tried to follow the rise and fall of FTX, and I don't understand it. I know cryptocurrency are all or mostly private fiat issuings and are driven by speculation, and growing up was fascinated by the Tulip Bubble, but I don't understand how FTX found that much in investments for what isn't even printed paper, or how the discovery that an associate company holding billions of their cryptocurrency would trigger the collapse.

Please, no conspiracy theories. This is just trying to understand what went on.

Greetings

Hello, my name is Neil. I was raised Catholic, baptized and used to attend Catholic church with my mother when I was (much) younger. I'm not Christian and I'm not an atheist, I'm somewhere in the middle I suppose, e.g., theist/deist, so, I do believe in God, and have been writing about God, among other similar things, since 2015. My take on God is somewhat different in some respects as I have aligned the concept of God with a contemporary cosmology.

I will argue with the atheists on Gods' behalf and have the science and logic to back it up, although I would prefer to just be a scribe and write. I also enjoy associating written segments, spoken word/prose, brief essays, and poetry with music. I suppose that's good for now; time will tell whether or not I have found a new home here.

[NYT] Old Latin Mass Finds New American Audience, Despite Pope's Disapproval

This rube of a NYT writer is trying to insinuate that all Traditional Catholics are also MAGA people. Maybe there's a correlation in values but it's a ridiculous broad stroke meant to paint traditionalists as dangerous radicals and extremists (for the record MAGA people aren't any of those things either, but that's what the dominant narrative in our culture wants you to think).

That said, I appreciate the shoutout the article makes to Alex Begin, a laymen from the Archdiocese of Detroit who has spent years training priests how to celebrate the Latin Mass through his Extraordinary Faith Celebrant Training program. I also appreciate the really nice photos of the Mass in the article. So have a look!

DETROIT — Eric Agustin’s eight children used to call the first day of the week “Party Sunday.” The family would wake up, attend a short morning Mass at a Catholic parish near their house, then head home for lunch and an afternoon of relaxing and watching football.
But this summer, the family made a “big switch,” one of his teenage sons said on a recent Sunday afternoon outside St. Joseph Shrine, the family’s new parish. At St. Joseph, the liturgy is ornate, precisely choreographed and conducted entirely in Latin. The family drives an hour round trip to attend a service that starts at 11 a.m. and can last almost two hours.

Interesting to note that in the third paragraph she insinuates that of all the various sorts of people who value the Latin Mass, none of them are simply "Catholics who take their faith seriously" which would be most accurate. She's denigrating their motives and reducing it to aesthetic preference or the naïveté of a convert and then proceeds to call the whole group a rising "right-wing strain on American Christianity".

If you want to see what direction the secular world wants the Church to go, read this article. It's clear that it views a passionate, masculine, Divinely-lead Church as a threat and it prefers a neutered, feminized, compromised Church instead.

Former Trump Org CFO testifies he didn’t pay taxes on $1.76 million in personal expenses, nor did Trump Org pay required taxes

Former Trump Org. CFO testifies he didn’t pay taxes on $1.76 million in personal expenses

Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg testified Tuesday that he knew he should have paid taxes on hundreds of thousands of dollars in benefits he received annually, including a company-paid Manhattan apartment that he said former President Donald Trump suggested he move into.

Under questioning by prosecutor Susan Hoffinger, Weisselberg answered “yes” as the prosecutor went through each of personal expenses he received from the Trump Org. – and that the company didn’t pay taxes on them from 2005 through 2017.

He acknowledged that he knowingly unreported his income on his tax forms to get the fringe benefits tax free, and he hid that information from the accountants at Mazars, he said, because he thought they would refuse to sign his tax returns had they known about it.

Trump Organization Controller Jeff McConney knew the practice was illegal when he generated the false W-2 and 1099 tax forms on Weisselberg’s behalf, according to Weisselberg.

Two Trump Organization entities are charged with nine counts of tax fraud, grand larceny and falsifying business records in what prosecutors allege was a 15-year scheme to defraud tax authorities by failing to report and pay taxes on compensation provided to employees. The former president is not a defendant in the case and is not expected to be implicated in any wrongdoing.

ETA: Trump Org guilty on all charges. [Weisselberg likely to get 5 months for his own crimes.]

Does God Want Man to be God?

Does God want man to be God?

My answer is yes but not in His Godhead. I mean there are attributes which God will not bestow upon His creatures.

He alone is an object of worship.
He alone is the Creator of universes.
Other noncommunicable attributes would probably be:

His omniscience.
His omnipotence.
His omipresents.
His alone becomming the Redeemer and Source of eternal redemption and eternal life.

There may be some more non-communicable attributes that someone else could mention.
But He created us in His image.
He created us according to His likeness.
He became a man.
And He became a life giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45 ) to impart Himself into us to conform us to His image (Romans 8:28,29).

Athanasius was on to something saying God became man so that man might become God.
That is, I believe he meant life, nature, expression, glory but not in the incommunicalbe attributes that are soley those of His Godhead.

Am I right?
" . . . we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him even as He is." (1 John 3:2).
It is not a power grab on our part. Rather it is something according to His purpose, His desire, His hearts pleasure and intention. (Eph. 1:5; Rom. 8:29)

Judge overturns Georgia’s six-week abortion ban

LINK

A Georgia Superior Court judge has overturned the state’s law banning abortions as early as six weeks of pregnancy, ruling it unconstitutional and saying it cannot be enforced.

The decision from Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney makes the procedure legal in the state again until at least 20 weeks of pregnancy, effective immediately. The judge’s order comes in response to a lawsuit that sought to strike down the ban on multiple grounds and will apply statewide.

In his opinion, McBurney wrote that when Georgia lawmakers passed the bill and Republican Gov. Brian Kempsigned it in 2019, [i.e. before the recent SCOTUS decision] “the supreme law of this land unequivocally was – and had been for nearly half a century – that laws unduly restricting abortion before viability were unconstitutional.”

McBurney wrote that lawmakers might pass similar legislation in light of the Dobbs ruling, but they would first have to face the “sharp glare of public attention that will undoubtedly and properly attend such an important and consequential debate whether the rights of unborn children justify such a restriction on women’s right to bodily autonomy and privacy.”

Cultural Revolution and the manufactured outrage over January 6th

In the USA, we are basically living through an extended 'color revolution' in the vein of cultural Marxism. This is just one part of an interconnected global revolution to overthrow the old political systems that have been deemed insufficient and outdated for properly advancing the evolution of society. The architects of this revolution see themselves as the vanguards of historical progress and human potential. We are living through the fulfillment of what individuals like Antonio Gramsci called "the great march through the institutions"... Well, they indeed marched through and took control. (and we let them)

One of the main drivers of a color revolution is to demonize the opposition with propaganda. If you really believe in the cause of revolution, then it doesn't really matter if the propaganda is true or not. The point is to construct and spread a narrative that increases the momentum of the revolution. We will use the example of the January 6th Capitol Riot, and how the revolutionaries use this event as political propaganda. They do not view Jan.6th as a crime to be investigated and solved, but only as a weaponized narrative in order to gain power over their ideological enemies.

They make a really big show of clutching their pearls over January 6th, professing how horrible it was, and how fearful they are of the threat it posed to our sacred democracy.... But how can we be sure that the outcry over January 6th is not genuine? How do we know that this supposed outrage is really just a manufactured ploy in order to gain power?

The simple answer is one man's name: Ray Epps.

All the people who claim to be so upset about the January 6th Capitol Riot, don't actually care about finding out the truth about it. They have an instinctive sense of the type of narrative that increases their political power. They can sense that finding out more information about people like Ray Epps, (a man who has been filmed repeatedly in the role of an organizer of the Jan.6th events, even at the moment police barricades were breached at the Capitol!!) is going to decrease the power of their narrative, and thus decrease their political power. Investigating the truth about a filmed leader of Jan.6th might disrupt their preferred political narrative.

This is a cynical perspective, but the facts demonstrate it quite clearly. These people are perfectly fine, even joyous, with the prospect of FBI manhunts for any odd grandma or grandpa that happened to be wandering around the Capitol grounds that day, but they have *zero* interest in bringing to account a man like Ray Epps who is actually on film organizing and leading the events of Jan.6th!! Again, they sense that the truth about Ray Epps is going to diminish their narrative power. It's why even the leaders of the "Jan.6th committee" have entirely dismissed Ray Epps as someone inconsequential.

People who claim to really care about Jan.6th do not actually believe that there was an "insurrection", or that "democracy was under attack" that day. If they did, they'd want to get to the bottom of it. The truth is far more Machiavellian. All they really care about is a certain narrative frame that will increase their power. That's all it's about, Power.

It's a lot like when we saw Joe Biden slamming his fists and claiming the mantle of supreme defender of "Democracy" by demanding his followers accept the view that the political opposition (70 million Trump voters) be viewed as domestic extremists. It's painfully obvious that these people do not really care about democracy. Democracy is just a word they use for power. In reality, they will eagerly use state power to silence and remove any opposition that may have the power to democratically challenge them.

These are people who scream out against censorship and then yawn when they find out the FBI was instructing social media to censor media reports negative to the Biden regime. They actually love censorship when they perceive it is their political enemies being censored. After all, they are right and you are wrong, and so censoring you is a good thing in the service of human evolution. When they censor you it is in the name of social justice!

These are people who spent 3 years screaming that Trump's presidency was illegitimate, that Russia hacked the election, that it was all a big conspiracy.... and today one of their most cherished talking points is to attack their opponents as "election deniers".... Again, it's all about power. They do not actually believe anything they are saying. In a Machiavellian sense they are using any kind of narrative framing possible in order to advance the revolution and gain more power.

And why do they want power so much? Why do they want this global revolution? Again, they believe they are the Vanguards of history. They are going to help usher in a new stage of human evolution. An age of peace and prosperity... and unfortunately there are tens of millions of 'conservatives' who just don't get it... they are backwards, ignorant people who are stuck in their ways, whining about things like border security, and have to be 'dealt with' for the good of the rest of the world. It's the same story we've seen for centuries. The Revolution must overthrow the old order and establish the new. And this time the revolution is literally connected into a single technological social-media hivemind. I might even speculate that this is the unified "beast" rising from the sea of nations at the end of the age.

Pay attention to how vicious this beast is going to get as the increasingly cry out for the destruction of their ideological opponents over the next few years. There are going to be increasingly costly penalties for the crime of questioning or disagreeing with them.

Remember... these are the people who wouldn't let you go to church or attend a funeral during lockdowns in the name of public safety... and then clapped and cheered for massive BLM street demonstrations of thousands of people packed shoulder to shoulder. It's all about advancing their revolution.

They want to make a great name for themselves... to rule as gods... but all their futile social engineering will end up just like the Tower of Babel. Chaff in the wind.

Jesus is King!

A couple of suggestions

Thanks for the forum upgrade! It'll take some time to get used to, but overall it seems good to me. The possibility to upvote is neat. For whatever it's worth, here are some thoughts:

- The content in the user information next to our post gets awkwardly formatted when there's long text. For example, if you look at my website and Blessings, you can see they overrun. If it's possible, how about changing the websites to simply say "Website" or even a button that is linked to our website? Alternatively, keep the website on the profile only? Perhaps Blessings isn't needed here either. I'm not sure what to do with other long titles, but perhaps it's possible to make the information section a little wider or organise the items differently, such as having things stacked instead of in two columns?

- If possible, I also think it could be nice if the various sections on the landing page could be ordered in a fixed way. What I mean is this: For example, under the Christian Congregations > Christian Communities, currently "Anabaptists", "Baptists", and "Calvary Chapel Fellowship" appear on one line, but the second line only has "Confessional, Covenantal, Creedal - Presbyterian". Perhaps if the details on the right, the thread count, message count, and latest message, were removed, and if the sections were listed in two columns, that may be more legible, which is what it used to be if memory serves me right. Alternatively, you could stack the existing details. That way you wouldn't have to crop long titles. Here's a quick example:

image_2022-11-16_210442464.png

- I liked the previous forms of liking where we could react with like, informative, prayer, winner etc. The current ones are a little more generic, and it also means we've lost our previous reactions and count.

Those are my 2c! See what you think!

God bless.

World population reaches 8 billion

And it continues to climb towards ten billion:

Personally, I don't think this is such a good thing, considering rapid growth has occurred in some of the poorest countries in the world, where many people live in squalid living conditions in densely packed shanty towns, like in Lagos, Nigeria, without running water, and with open sewers. But when you spend decades fighting comprehensive family planning, that's sort of the inevitable result. It is true that people in North America consume far more reseources per capita, but North America's population is a fraction of Africa and Asia, where most of the growth is happening.

Is repeating verses for longtime bad or good?

I have panic attacks and used to wanted to do affirmations (repeating statements for a longtime) but discovered affirmations is not accepted in Christian community because it's seen as a demonic practice.

How about repeating bible verses instead for 5-10mins?

They say Satan likes to copy God so what if affirmations are a copy of repeating bible verses.

Relationship with God

I see many pentecostal Christians focus so much on stressing the relationship with God, to me it seems like one must able to express their emotion towards Jesus. But where in the Bible said one must show emotional express towards God?

Jesus said

Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching

How does having relationship with God looks like to me? Live rightly before God, it can be an intellectual too, like appreciation for galaxy and give God the highest praise.

I was doing my usual travels today and ran across an estate sale and decided to stop. Looked around and did not see much but saw a jewelry box with vintage costume jewelry and decided to pick it up. These types of items you can use one way or the other. After doing all my business for the day I went through the box. I’m very disturbed by one piece I found. I’m
hoping it’s a college fraternity but I doubt it. It’s a lapel pin with a skull with red rhinestone eyes and instead of crossbones there are two keys in the same position as the crossbones would be. I looked it up and I’m pretty sure it is the Ku Klux Klan. I’m not sure if this is a good idea to sell this piece unless it is a historical society or something. Anyway, I tried to take a few pics but it so teeny tiny it was difficult to do on the phone. Your opinions are appreciated. Not sure how to handle this one.

Overcoming a Critical Spirit

Did you ever have a critical spirit/attitude without realizing it? Went around offending people without realizing how much you were hurting them and were maybe even surprised or confused when they said they were offended by your actions or words? If so, how did you overcome it? The Holy Spirit has just been opening my eyes to help me understand past events recently and I am just trying to understand everything.
