  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The anointing and the so called anointed preachers and prophets

Many preachers, prophets and apostles boast of their anointing but they don't seem know what it is, nor do they live by it or teach it. Jesus and the apostles were not rich like them. They taught against wanting wealth and the world including America

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God [a]is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Do Not Love the World
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Deceptions of the Last Hour
18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[d] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you[e] know all things. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

1 John 2:24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.

26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to [f]deceive you. 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you [g]will abide in Him.

The Children of God
28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that [h]when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

My disagreement with Joyce Myers

I don't listen to Joyce Myers or any teacher but I can't get over how she wears jewelry and teaches wealth and prosperity. To me this is pride, vanity and greedy lust for money.

The jewelry I can understand a little. She claims to be abused by her father. I'm unsure if that was sexual abuse or not but maybe she feels ugly because of that abuse.

Maybe she has self esteem issues and wants to make herself beautiful. i understand that. A woman used expensive perfume to wash Jesus feet so maybe it's like that. i don't know. However she is no teacher in my opinion.

Please feel free prove me wrong however. I try to see good in people and not just faults

Jew vs Islam vs Gentile Christian. What's wisdom say?

I don't understand why people support Israel. They're not Christian are they? Isn't that like supporting the anti Christ? Forgive me if I'm wrong but how am I supposed to see it?

So we hate Muslims for hating Jesus but we love Jews who hate Jesus, what wisdom is this?

Furthermore people who think that way often seem to become warmongering Christians who want to save Israel with war and weapons.

I love all people the same. I dont care who you are. I hope for us all. We are commanded to pray for men everywhere. We are commanded to greet everyone and not just for our brethren like the unbelievers do.

Another look at the moon landing.

I don't know if this vid is real or not and I can't prove it either way , but it's promoted by this man Pascal Najadi who is involved in Donald Trumps space force , speaks highly of Mike Flynn and just recently did an interview with Lt Colonel Riccardo Bosi , so I take him to be the real deal.

Now the vid shows a number of things , it shows the astronauts along with the camera crew filming what is supposed to be the moon landing among other things , but obviously doing it here from earth. Lights falling and other crazy stuff.

See what you think guys , because I don't normally get into this type of stuff , it always seemed too unreal for me. But I have always had an open mind...:)

TRUTH: « We are the Guardians of Humanity and our Light Obliterates the darkness of evil, and Treason, Always » - We are Human Species and now we are Striking Back - Spring of 2024 #STORM - Beyond Biblical

Put Off, Put On

“Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:25-32 ESV)

When Jesus Christ lived on the earth he told the people that if anyone would come after him that he must deny self, take up his cross daily, and follow him. Well, when Jesus took up his cross it was to put our sins to death with him. So when we take up our cross daily, it is to die daily to sin. And then to follow Jesus is to obey him, and to model our lives after him and how he lived. For, in essence, he said that if we hold on to our old lives, we will lose them for eternity, but if we deny self, die daily to sin, and follow him in obedience, then we have eternal life in him (see Luke 9:23-26).

So, faith in Jesus Christ should result in us giving up our old lives of living in sin and for self so that we can now follow him in obedience to his commands. And this is a process of sanctification, but it is not to be regarded lightly nor for us to think that we can just hold on to our sins as long as we want because it is a process. For as soon as we are aware that we are sinning against the Lord, and that we are doing what displeases him, by his grace we are to put those things out of our lives, and we are to replace those bad things with the things of God that he wants in our lives.

So a walk of faith in Jesus Christ is that daily putting off the flesh and putting on God and his righteousness. And it involves us putting off those old sinful habits and replacing them with what is the opposite. So if lying has been our practice, we need to stop lying and we need to make telling the truth our practice. If stealing and cheating have been our practice, we need to stop doing that and now we must be generous and give to others who are in need. If our speech has been filled with hate and evil, we need to now speak the truth in love to others, in kindness, but not lying to them.

And anytime that we choose our sins over God, and we tell God “No!,” while we tell the flesh, “Yes!,” we grieve the Holy Spirit of God. For Jesus died on that cross to deliver us out of our slavery to sin, not just to forgive us our sins, and not so we can keep on sinning without feeling guilty. The whole point of our salvation from sin is to change us, to transform us, to take us from being those who were, living for self and in sin, to those who are now living for God and for his righteousness. So we put off all that is of the flesh and we put on all that is of God and that is of his love (Romans 6:1-23).

And with regard to anger, we get our emotions from God, and he gets angry sometimes, but for the right reasons. So it is possible to be angry without sinning if we are angry over injustice, genocide, adultery, abortions, and all that is evil and is against the Lord and that is harmful to other humans. But we must not let that anger settle into our minds and hearts and then have it turn into bitterness and resentment and a desire to get even with others. We must use the anger, instead, as a springboard to rightful actions and decisions which are helpful to others, and not harmful to them nor to self.

So, just understand that the Christian walk of faith is all about us turning away from our sins to now follow Jesus in obedience to his commands. So we put off all that is of the flesh and that is sinful so that we can put on all that is of God and that is righteous, holy, just, honest, morally pure, upright, faithful, loving, and obedient to our Lord. And daily we deny self and die to sin and we follow our Lord in obedience to his will and to his plan that he has for our lives. For this is what genuine faith in Jesus Christ looks like, which is God’s gift to us, and it is what his grace trains us to do (Titus 2:11-14).

Mighty in Power

An Original Work / June 17, 2019

Jesus, our Savior, reigneth forever;
Mighty in power, His name we honor.
He’s our refuge from all evil.
God our righteous, He’s our fill.
He satisfies us with all His blessings.
We magnify Him. Our praise to Him sing.

Glory and honor, praise to the Father,
Perfect in wisdom, He is our vision.
He delivered us from all sin
So, in Christ, we’d be forgiven.
He purifies us. His love will guide us.
He is beside us, holy and righteous.

Our Holy Spirit, comfort in sorrow,
Strength in our weakness, hope for tomorrow.
He gives courage to be bold in
Witnessing for Jesus Christ.
He teaches all things about our Savior.
New life in Jesus, we found His favor.

Worldly thinking

I don't seee how political gossip is good. I don't see how Trump or Biden are mature Christians. They engage in gossip themselves.

I dont agree with rich Christians either. We are not here to live in luxury. That's not what I see the apostles or Jesus teach us.

I know the fear and worry over economics, social security and other worldly matters is not faith in God or obedience to him.

I know promoting war is not good. Let God handle that. Im not saying that soldiers are wrong necesarily but we shouldn't promote any war.

To me vanity is wrong. We shouldn't want to be judged or adored by our appearance in any way. In my opinion.

I'm not perfect but I know these things.

Prayer request about my job

I have a prayer request about my job. This is something I've thought about for quite some time.

I haven't been happy with my current position and I'm not happy with the company I work for. It does have some good things about it, but I'm tired of the bad things that do go on at work.

I really hate how several of my coworkers are not dedicated to doing a good job. It's dramatically changed the past four years. The company went from "do it right the first time" to "do whatever you feel". I work with slackers that don't understand what the problem is. They're just there to collect a check, they don't really think about their work output and how it affects other people and the future of the company.

My current job, I took it because I was desperate to get out of another department. The managers had told us not too long ago that a new position would be opening up (one that I'm interested in), but nothing has been heard about since they announced it.

I've wanted to leave, but I don't know where to go. I've browsed the Internet for jobs, but I haven't found anything I like.

I would really like a job where I worked with people that shared similar work values, and one where I felt like I was making a difference.

Will you pray for me about finding another job? Thanks.

How To Understand : Acts 2:38

Reader,

There are some who teach that the "Gospel" is : Acts 2:38.

Now, if you are familiar with Christianity, then you know that everyone is invited to become a Christian......Jews, Gentiles,.........
>"The World"... = John 3:16.

So, one of the things we find out about the NT, is... = if an Apostle does not know something then they can't teach it until they know it.

And Peter, who was the Act 2:38 preacher, did not understand the Gospel of the Grace of God, until Acts 15. = Not until He was taught it by Paul.

Now, How is all that relevant to Paul? and Acts 2:38

Its like this reader, ... Many people and denominations consider Acts 2:38 as the Gospel... and these people are very strong proponents for "Water baptism"..
In Fact they are so into the water aspect that they read that "Noah was saved by water" and can't understand that Had NOAH and Family gotten out of that ARK, then Noah and Family, would have DIED in that FLOOD WATER JUDGEMENT.

See, it was the ARK that kept them OUT of the WATER, is why they LIVED.., as that wooden ARK is not just their Salvation from that water, but its symbolic of the Cross of Christ that was WOOD, (A TREE) , and Christ on it, is our ARK .
How?
Christ on that WOOD, takes the Judgement for our sin, just as Noah's Ark saved Noah and Family from the WATER that was God's Judgment.

Now let me show you a few things..

First, Peter was not water baptized in Acts 2:38. and you can read it for yourself.
So, we could stop right there, as that proves that WATER is not going to save anything, when the very person who is telling those JEWS to get in the water, was not himself water baptized that day.
But lets continue, as some of you, are waking up, and some of you are learning something you need to know.

= NONE in the "upper room" were water baptized in Acts 2:38, and you can read it for yourself.
And Peter and those same were speaking with tongues, yet none were water baptized., in Acts 2:38

Water Baptism, began before Jesus showed up, Reader.
Its a big part of the Jewish OT Situation, and you've read that John The Baptist.. (John the Water Baptizer) was baptizing Jews long before Jesus showed up, and this saved NONE of them.. It washed NONE of their sin away.
So, when The JEW = PETER........ was preaching in Acts 2:38, He preached all he knew, and that was for that day, but it is not for now, regarding water being necessary as a part of the process of God's Redemption.
it wasn't a part of it on that day... or Peter would have gotten water baptized and those in the upper room also..

See that?

So why did Peter Preach it? = Its because its ALL HE KNEW at that time., as at that time if you were a Jew, you repented and John the water Baptizer dunked you... it was a part of the law, and Jesus did it because as He said.>>"Let us fulfill all things".. all things related to the law, as Jesus was born under the Law.

ENTER... Paul the Apostle, who was sent to preach .. ""The preaching of the Cross is the power of God unto salvation, for everyone who Believes"".

And notice this verse.. ."Its pleased GOD by the foolishness of PREACHING.. to SAVE THOSE... who BELIEVE"... (not get in the water).

And "Save those who believe what"?

A.) Paul's gospel...>"The Gospel of the GRACE OF GOD" that is the "preaching of the Cross of Christ".

Now how do you know that Peter didnt know anything about the "Gospel of the Grace of God in Acts 2"?

Its because Peter didnt know that Gentiles could be saved, until 10 yrs after Jesus is back in Heaven.
So, if you dont KNOW that Jews and Gentiles can both be saved, then you dont understand God's Salvation, according to how PAUL was sent to teach it, by Revelation from JESUS Himself.

Read Acts of the Apostles... Chapter 10, written a decade after Jesus is back in Heaven., and discover that Peter didnt know that Gentiles could be saved... YET.. SO....= God had to give Peter a vision, to cause Him to UNDERSTAND this about Gentiles.
So, You can't preach the true Gospel, that includes GENTILES being saved.... if you dont yet know it.
And that is why Acts 2:38, is NOT The Gospel.

And here is one more.
Paul said...>"Christ sent me NOT to water baptize"........and that does not mean that we are not to be water baptized.
I was water baptized 11 yrs after i was born again. I was water baptized, about 5 yrs after i was called into the Ministry by the Holy Spirit.

See reader to understand the TRUE Gospel..... in "the time of the Gentiles".. and we are in it....
It means that the correct understanding of the process of Redemption, is not about water....its about the BLOOD OF JESUS and the CROSS of Christ and Faith that is counted by God as "righteousness", and water has no part in that, at all.

It was in Acts 15, that Peter learned what Paul knew, that Paul learned from Jesus, and from that point, all the Apostles understood "Paul's Gospel of the Grace of God" that is not related to water baptism.

The Problem of Ecocide

According to the late medieval historian Lynn white, Christianity is largely responsible for environmental destruction associated with the spread of western culture. What's noteworthy about Lynn White, besides being a medieval historian (and not an Earth scientist), he was also a devout Presbyterian, the son of a pastor. But he still put the blame for environmental exploitation on Christianity, especially the creation mandate in Genesis, but also the dualistic thinking that places soul and spirit above the physical world. In many cases, Christians were active involved in the destruction of older, nature-based religions, which respected nature as a place of residence of various spirits that had to be considered in any affairs of humanity- sacred groves and springs were particularly common in pre-Christian Europe.

White does point out that there were exceptions, such as St. Francis, who had positive views of the natural world, but his voice was marginalized by the Church and has little influence over the average Christian.

Is the Biden administration interfering with the election?

In March 2021, Joe Biden signed an executive order focused on "access to voting," directing federal government agencies to bolster voter registration efforts, facilitate mail-in voting applications for Americans, and tackle misinformation, among other provisions. This order encapsulates the Democratic Party agenda, embedding numerous practices implemented temporarily during the pandemic-impacted 2020 election.

Three years later, the House GOP is now investigating the Biden administration after documents revealed that the White House has been coordinating with left-wing activists on voter registration.
"GOP lawmakers are growing increasingly worried that an executive order issued by President Joe Biden in 2021, which mandated that federal agencies develop voter registration plans with 'approved' outside groups, will be unlawfully weaponized this November to boost Democratic turnout," reports the Washington Examiner. "The Biden administration has framed the unprecedented operation as nonpartisan, though internal documents show the government hosted a July 2021 order planning call that appeared to serve overwhelmingly as a platform for left-wing organizations to suggest sweeping election policy changes."

“President Biden’s EO is an overreach of the executive branch’s constitutional authority and disregards the Constitution’s federalist election system,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “The states set the time, manner, and place of their own elections, and this EO must be looked at seriously.”

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said the internal meeting notes reveal “illegal coordination” between the Biden administration and progressive activists to plot “election interference,” adding that lawmakers are investigating the 2021 executive order “to ensure our elections are free and fair.” Stefanik is widely considered as in the running to be former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick in 2024.
Republican lawmakers and conservative legal scholars argue that the executive order is unconstitutional and disregards several federal regulations. Among these are the Antideficiency Act, which prohibits federal agencies from exceeding approved funds allocated by Congress, and the Hatch Act, which restricts government employees from participating in specific political endeavors.

According to meeting notes obtained by the conservative Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project and Foundation for Government Accountability, participants from activist organizations deliberated on various topics, such as registering illegal immigrants and incorporating voter registration as a prerequisite in federal law for public housing.

The Oversight Project underscored in a recent memo its belief that the 2021 executive order is a partisan endeavor aimed at shaping future election outcomes by leveraging federal resources, infrastructure, and influence.
Like other lawmakers, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) said the meeting notes reveal a coordinated and since-secretive effort by Biden to work with progressives “to figure out a way to leverage federal resources and enhance Democrat political power.”

Earlier this week, the House GOP introduced the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to prevent illegal immigrants and noncitizens from voting in federal elections. As you can imagine, Democrats have indicated they have no intention of supporting the bill. This really puts the border crisis into perspective, doesn't it?

Thank God for conspiracy theorists.

2000 yrs ago a small group of conspiracy theorists traveled around preaching a new thing they called the Gospel and were warning the people about this matrix that they were living in , ruled by an evil tyrant they called Satan , who through his politicians and religious leaders kept control of the masses.

Some of the people understood and believed but others thought it was just a B grade story straight out of a sifi comic book.
Anyway the rulers of this dark evil matrix decided they needed to put a stop to this preaching of the Gospel and this waking people up to the fact that they are free sovereign beings under God , and not someone else's property to become slaves.

And the rest is history as they say.
God bless conspiracy theorists , where would we be with out them.

The Amish community

I don't know much about the Amish but I love their simplicity. Don't get me wrong I love my electricity but I love simplicity as well. The Amish are hard working farmers as well. I've talked to a few of them at flea markets. Sometimes they own the market place.

But their religion must be lacking somewhere because they dont evangelize. Isn't it the churches mission to evangelize? I don't judge them however because I myself am nothing. I barely keep my head above water. But I like things about the Amish. I just don't know what they teach.

Houston-area school board votes to remove 13 chapters from state-approved science textbooks, citing controversial topics

Cy-Fair ISD trustees vote to omit textbook chapters about topics such as climate change and vaccines

State Rep. Jon Rosenthal worked as a mechanical engineer before entering politics, and his father was a mathematics professor at the University of Texas. So studying science, and teaching it, are endeavors that are important to him.

Trustees for the third-largest school district in Texas, which is served in part by Rosenthal, voted to omit a series of science textbook chapters that address subjects such as climate change, vaccinations, cultural diversity, depopulation and humans' impact on the Earth and its ecosystems.

Those topics were referred to as "controversial" by multiple Cy-Fair ISD board members, whereas Rosenthal said there is a "strong consensus around all of those topics" within the global scientific community. The five textbooks in question also have been approved, in their entirety, by the State Board of Education.

Julie Hinaman was the lone Cy-Fair ISD trustee to vote against omitting the materials, saying she did not understand "why one board member chose to override the recommendation of our highly trained educators who selected these materials for next school year."

Why Conspiracy Theories Are Fun but Dangerous

Sensation-seeking individuals often find conspiracy theories exciting and fun.

  • Sensation-seeking individuals can find conspiracy theories exciting and entertaining.
  • Belief in conspiracy theories can harm people's mental and physical health.
  • Some people enjoy feeling privy to secret information they deem to be more accurate than public information.
When I was a youngster, a conspiracy theory captured the imagination of many of my friends. My friend Lois, whip-smart and street-smart, told me that our favorite band, The Beatles, was covering up the death of singer-songwriter Paul McCartney, substituting him with a lookalike. Fans worldwide uncovered clues in album cover art, song lyrics, and band behavior that “proved” Paul was dead.

'The House has no choice but to impeach President ‘Quid pro Joe’ Biden' over Israel aid cutoff threat says Rep Cory Mills

FIRST ON FOX: Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., is preparing impeachment articles against President Biden over his threat to halt U.S. offensive aid to Israel, the first-term lawmaker told Fox News Digital on Thursday.

Mills accused Biden of forcing Israel into a "quid pro quo" situation by leveraging U.S. dollars against the Israeli government's actions in Gaza, drawing parallels to Democrats' first impeachment of former President Trump over his handling of Ukraine aid.

[Note that one quo is "stated US policy on Gaza" and the other quo is "launch bogus investigation of the son of my political rival". What is diplomacy other than "this for that"? But if it's personal benefit rather than for the benefit of the nation, it's corrupt. But don't take my word for it that this is empty baloney.]

‘Where’s The Crime?’ Skeptical Fox Anchor Grills GOP Leader Over Threat to Impeach Biden Over Israel

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) appeared on Fox Business to lay out the case as Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) was reported to be currently “preparing impeachment articles.”

“Congressman, on what grounds would you impeach President Biden?” Varney asked.

SCALISE: Well, if you look at where we are, Stuart, I mean, President Biden is failing on so many different fronts. But if you look at Israel…what he’s done to Israel, walking away there if our strongest ally in the Middle East is disgraceful. You’ve got Democrats even admitting that. Our main objective is to get Israel the support they need to show that we stand with our ally, Israel, even if Joe Biden’s walking away because he is now trying to appease the pro-Hamas wing of his party.

VARNEY: But is it a high crime and misdemeanor to walk away from a big ally? Where’s the crime?

Stanford called out over man in Hamas headband 'terrorizing' Jewish students

Joe should have sent in federal troops long ago. As to Stanford, Hamas is a terrorist organization, and those identifying as Hamas should be immediately seized.

Rick Scott: Biden now part of ‘pro-Hamas group’ of Democratic Party

“Would we leave [Osama] bin Laden in a corner and just pull back because the world didn’t like the way we’re fighting a war? And they’re [Israel] all committed to making sure they give the civilians plenty of time to get out of Rafah,” Scott said, adding later, “Think about it, I mean, if they attacked America, if somebody attacked America, we’re going to say, ‘Oh no, we’re not going to go after the people that killed our women and children?'”

I mean, I know Biden told a story about his family lore and that's reason to question his ability to be president.

But I wonder if having a bought and paid for president like this may also not exactly be ..."awesome" for the US.

Or are we going to continue pretending that Biden and Trump are "both equally unscrupulous?

Paul Manafort is poised to rejoin Trump world (not anymore, it appears)

Paul Manafort, poised to rejoin Trump world, aided Chinese media deal

With his freedom [after Trump pardoned him], Manafort hardly retired to a quiet home life. Instead, the longtime power broker — briefly brought low by the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election — reengaged in international consulting, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post and people familiar with his activities who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter’s sensitivity.

Manafort has been assisting an effort to launch a Netflix-like mobile streaming and entertainment platform in China that, according to corporate documents, has the endorsement of the Chinese government. In an email to The Post, Manafort said he was “not involved with China” and has “had nothing to do with China, including Chinese businesses, government, individuals, or anything else,” but acknowledged that he “was asked to make introductions to U.S. studios and potential U.S. partners in the venture.”

[Other activities in Japan, South Korea, Guatemala...]

Advisers say Trump is determined to hire Manafort, likely handing him a substantial role at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, because he appreciates that his onetime campaign chairman has remained loyal to him even while serving in prison.

[After Trump pardoned Manafort...] The two later reconnected at one of Trump’s clubs and have stayed in touch since, according to a person familiar with their interactions.

Meanwhile, Manafort is moving closer to a significant role at the Republican National Convention, scheduled for July. He is expected to be involved in organizing the convention committees and helping to manage the party’s platform process, according to people familiar with the planning.

Virginia school board votes to restore Confederate names to two schools

Nearly four years ago, the Shenandoah County School Board ... moved to rename Stonewall Jackson High School and Ashby Lee Elementary School. The schools had been named after Confederate Gens. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, Robert E. Lee and Turner Ashby.

That 2020 move was part of a resolution condemning racism and affirming the district’s “commitment to an inclusive school environment,” according to school board documents.

The schools have been called Mountain View High School and Honey Run Elementary School since July 2021, according to board documents.

But the composition of the school board is different now than it was during the 2020 decision – all six seats are held by different people.

The 5-1 vote came after hours of public comment during a meeting that began Thursday evening from people speaking on both sides of the issue. Vice Chairman Kyle L. Gutshall was the sole opposing vote.

“I ask that when you cast your vote, you remember that Stonewall Jackson and others fighting on the side of the Confederacy in this area were intent on protecting the land, the buildings and the lives of those under attack,” said a woman urging the board to restore the Confederate names. “Preservation is the focus of those wishing to restore the names.”

Sarah Kohrs, a mother of two students attending schools in the district, is among several parents and residents who said ahead of the vote that they were opposed to restoring the Confederacy-tied names and were frustrated it was being considered.

“It’s very frustrating to know that here we are four years after that, and we still have a small portion of the community that just refuses to move on,” Kohrs told CNN.

Did you ever consider? Poor, crazy and demon oppressed preachers.

Did you consider that the apostles were not educated or dressed in suits? For the most part they were simple fisherman and laborers. They wore rags and might have smelled like farms, fish and horse stables.

Paul said that they were out of their own minds at times. Paul said that he had a messenger of Satan torment him.

Do these sound like the kind of people you would hire to teach your church? If not why? It's the strangest thing.
