John 3:

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;
In terms of First-Order Logic, if a person believes in the Son, he has eternal life.

whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
If he does not obey the Son, he does not have eternal life.

By contrapositive, If he has eternal life, he obeys the Son.

A person believes in the Son → he has eternal life →he obeys the Son.

By transitivity, therefore, if he believes in the Son, he obeys Him.

Also, if he does not obey the Son, he does not believe in Him.

And, if he does not obey the Son, he does not have eternal life.

Affirmed and attested to in many passages of Scripture.

The word, "Love", also fits into many of those. If you love him you will keep his commandments.

The text, however, goes beyond the present tense consequences of not believing/obeying the Son. Here is the Greek text for consideration:

Joh 3:36 ὁ πιστεύων εἰς τὸν Υἱὸν ἔχει ζωὴν αἰώνιον· ὁ δὲ ἀπειθῶν τῷ Υἱῷ οὐκ ὄψεται ζωήν, ἀλλ᾿ ἡ ὀργὴ τοῦ Θεοῦ μένει ἐπ᾿ αὐτόν.

Here, the text specifically states that those not believing/obeying ("απειθων", present/participle that works contemporaneously with the primary verb ἔχει) "shall not see life" (οὐκ ὄψεται future/indicative ζωήν ).

The reason for this final/future outcome was stated in (Joh 3:18-19). Like most things pertaining to life and death, the context (indirectly) is found in Gen 2:7 with regards to the two natures and kingdoms of the soul. "Flesh" and "spirit". The flesh will perish, not the spirit/breath of God.

Thoughts on this would be appreciated.
