I think we need to be more aware of what's going on around us. My experience in Reformed circles left me blind to understanding demonic influence.

Not sure if you know much about the Author; but I consider him a Military Hero due to his active service as a Military Chaplain. It seems our government does not:

Could I be permitted to make a comment or two having read the thesis...

I belong to an Anglican Church not Lutheran.
Certainly, you are always respectful, and we welcome good conversation. :)

Well may be I got the wrong end of the stick but it seems the attempted ministry was not successful in that the condition recurred.

I wonder if the prevailing theology that postulates such ministry largely ended with the apostles, results in low expectation of success and therefore limits faith in this age.

We have record of Jesus forbidding the return of the spiritual intrusion.

So theology and faith are somehow linked.

For me it comes back to seeing what the Father is doing - a seeing that needs to be taught.

Maybe we can't 'see' what He is doing if our theology dismisses the possibility.

If we do 'see', then we have the faith to proclaim what He has already ordained.

I had a lady seek me out after 18 years to tell me - she had bought to me her son who was having Grand Mal Seizures. They never returned from that day on.

From early on I had learned to forbid the return of an intrusion.

Faith comes from hearing and seeing the intent of the Father's heart.

Proclaiming on the basis of what we have seen is the key.

Sometimes it is just a matter of proclaiming His Kingdom Reign and the matter is resolved, sometimes it is more specific.

My new Lutheran Companion Prayer book has several prayers of exorcism.
Although I am Catholic, I own that prayer book and I love it! :)
