Does James dissect the Law?

James 2:10-11 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

James equates the Ten Commandments with a chain having ten links. If you break one link the chain is broken.

That chapter is about not showing favoritism and Faith without works is dead!!!

James 2

New King James Version (NKJV)

Beware of Personal Favoritism

2 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. 2 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, 3 and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” 4 have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? 7 Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?
8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,”[a] you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,”[b] also said, “Do not murder.”[c] Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your[d] works, and I will show you my faith by my[e] works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?[f] 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[g] And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

No James is saying if any one is goofy enough to shun Grace for the Law if that person break one little point he is guilty of breaking the whole law. With Christ we are not under the Law

Do you rape, murder, steal and worship other gods? You must be under the law.

True. What's yer point? Is it that Christians are obligated to the law?

Nope and nope. It is the Grace of God that is at work in me not the law of death

Do you lie, kill, rape, steal, worship other gods, use God's name in vain and so on? Why not? Are you under the Law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Or do you love God and see value in God's way of living?

Only those who have been born of God see value in living as God calls us to live.

1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

Since you repeat yourself I will too. Christians, true Christians that is, or not under the law, we are under Grace. The law is nothing, Grace is everything. The problem is you want to earn your salvation by following the law, that means you must follow all 613 or so laws and that leads to death.

Christians don't worry about such nonsense, we live by Grace.

Grace teaches you something. It teaches you to value what God values and God values what He has written with His own finger. Grace magnifies the Law and makes it honorable, it doesn't do away with it. Grace does away with guilt and condemnation, not godliness.

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Now let me ask you again.

Do you lie, kill, rape, steal, worship other gods, use God's name in vain and so on? Why not? Are you under the Law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Or do you love God and see value in God's way of living?

Practicing righteousness or doing what is right is nonsense only to the carnal mind, not to those who have been born of God.

Romans 8:6-8 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

The key to the above question is found in your motive, not in your denial.

Then why did God promise to retire what He wrote with His own finger? See Jer 31:31-33.

Why did God (Jesus) testify this promise is current? See Matthew, Mark and Luke.

I find it ironic that those promoting the Law accuse those refusing to put themselves under it as being rapists, murderers, idolaters, thieves, adulterists, etc when those under the Law in the OT like David etc WERE adulterers and murderers etc. What did the Law do to stop their sin? NOTHING at all. If one is putting themselves under the Law one can decide not to sin just as one under grace can IDENTICALLY decide... NOT TO SIN. In other words the Law is of no use to Christians because we either sin or not just as those UNDER THE LAW do under the EXACTLY THE SAME.

So why bother with the Law? It is useless to a Christian as a means to stop sin because sin is a CHOICE, not a mandate that magically happens when one decides to haul around a rule book. If one decides to keep the Law they aren't suddenly endowed with supernatural powers to resist sin any more than those under grace. Under grace however we try not to focus foremost on sinning or not we try to focus primarily on loving others and God and in that effort we typically SIN LESS.

You say God tried the law but God says he writes it on the heart and mind. Who shall we believe, you or God?

My Jesus tells me to obey His Father who is in heaven and His Father tells me to listen to Jesus. My Jesus doesn't want me stealing, lying, killing, dishonoring his father's name, committing adultery and so on and so forth. Does your Jesus?

Where does Jesus say that?

Matthew 12:50 Then Jesus added, “Anyone who obeys my Father in heaven is my brother, sister, and mother!”

Mark 9:7 And a cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came from the cloud, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!”
