Good morning,

By now, many of you have noticed the Chatbox has been moved to the main page, after years of being on its own page. For those who were around when CF was on vBulletin, the Chatbox was always at the top of the main page, but after moving to XenForo was put on its own page and not always used. The Chatbox has been moved back to its original place to be used more in the interest of light chat only, but not to take away from the forums.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask here, and if you have any private feedback, please feel free to PM me. :)

Frankly I have no interest in using this - is it possible to remove it ?

For me it's just an irritant as I open CF and get this large empty box and then have to scroll down to reach the areas of CF that I do use.

Really what is the purpose of a chat box, must be something for kids.
That would be incorrect, many forums offer it as a means for light chat, where heavier discussion is in the forums.

You can click the gear icon and click Disable chat.

You can click the gear icon and click Disable chat.

Where is the gear icon located?

(All I see is the Rules icon and the Options icon, in the upper right-hand corner of the chatbox.)

Wouldnt ones profile page or private messaging but for that?

You know what I wish you guys brought back was the ability to click on a posters post and add something they alone could see, remember that? A hidden side box. I loved that because it provided a way to give someone additional information without involving yourself any further on the thread. That was one of the best features of any board I have seen. Why did they remove that?

I used to love when they had the lightbulb feature, so when someone got banned from the forum for a certain period of time the lights out indicated it so you wouldnt have to worry about the other person, that you just immediately "know" and wait for their return.

Well, because they are brethren despite having broken the rules to get that ban, its still a considerate thing to let those who care for that person know whats up and that is one of the reasons you can assume that they are fine, just in the dunce box^_^

Okay. Thank you for this. :)

So, alittle more help, please?
What do we click, after clicking on the little person?

I thought it might be Preferences.
Under Preferences is where we "Disable Holiday Styling".
But I see no option under Preferences to disable this large chat box.
:help:
