Can I ask God to make me hit lottery?

Can I ask God to make me hit lottery?
And I promise to give money to Charity NGO, to Churches.
Is that ok?
:)
You may ask Him whatever you like.
Solomon however responded thus:
1 Kings, 3:4
The king went to Gibeon to offer sacrifices, for that was the most important high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5 At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

6 Solomon answered, “You have shown great kindness to your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to you and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day.

7 “Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. 8 Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. 9 So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. 11 So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. 13 Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings.

As Obedient Children

Galatians 3:10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”[e] 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”[f] 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”[g] 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”[h] 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
No one said anything about the book of the Law.
Obedience to the Spirit is the Law of the Spirit of Life,
which you must live, as the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.
Acts 5:32
And we are His witnesses to these things,
and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

10 For we are of God’s making, created in union with the Messiah Yeshua for a life of good actions already prepared by God for us to do.
What might those be? The Holy Spirit leads us into ALL TRUTH.
Do you obey the Spirit or not?
Romans 16:
26
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets,
according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

"Easy Believism" That Free Gift Cost Jesus Christ, who's very NAME I am unworthy to speak, EVERYTHING! He DIED so that the HOPELESS HAD HOPE. That Blood that HE spilt eradicated condemnation of the Law. The work of the Spirit is JUST THAT. I will leave this thread now. You Charge the Result of His work unto the Believer. This worthless, no good, only saved by His Grace sinner will now show himself to the door. I'm sorry I got dirt on your clean floor.

Glad we had this talk. Thank you.
Wow! You have no idea the floors I've laid face down on.
Let me know when you have served the Lord,
and share your testimony any time.
Thank you, for your heavy dose of condescension.
Luke 17:
10
So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘
We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’

Or do nothing, the choice is yours.
Did you really think you could come on a thread that teaches sound apostolic
doctrine about abiding in the Spirit to live a life that is pleasing to God with this
tired old, "salvation by faith means doing nothing", as if we are adding something
to the Gospel. How preposterous!

2 Peter 1
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
When Did Love Become Optional???
8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor
unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,
and has forgotten that he was cleansed from
his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure,
for if you do these things you will never stumble;
11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting
kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
.

Revelation 17:
14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them,
for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him
are called, chosen, and faithful.”

Thank You for leaving, I have no problem with cleaning up your off-topic mess.

Modern day systemic racism, does it exist?

I believe not. Places like universities, the government (state or federal) and big businesses are a good barometer of the prevailing social atmosphere. They wouldn't feel safe to espouse it if the social conditions aren't right. If the high and mighty places can be so open about it, it doesn't get better at the lower level of society. I'm not saying all Americans are anti-white but the controlling percentage looks to be so. Creating a safe space for ironically an unsafe ideology to thrive.

I shouldn't need to give you links I hope for it is not too hard to look the instances up from Google News or Bing News if you're feeling lucky.
Are you suggesting that those who might accuse some white people of being racist are therefore, simply by doing that, exhibiting racism to white people?

You can't be because that makes no sense. So can you explain what you do mean? An example would help.

Why Everyone Needs An AR-15

This is another fellow I follow, who has a lot of information which while it might not intended for prepping, could be useful to know. I've made his version #1 of the gassifier successfully, this is a second version. He has several vids on wood gas production

The world runs on energy. This has everything to do with prepping, whether you can find energy outside of what you can digest in calories, or not. At least you'll know what you're dealing with.

Here are some stats for farm workers:

With roughly 1500 steps taken each hour, these careers have people taking roughly 12,000 steps in an 8 hour period. By our calculations, that’s 175 calories per hour, or 1,400 in eight. Keep in mind that these numbers are based off of a 145 pound person.

Those are numbers for a small person, who doesn't have to work as hard with all of our modern conveniences. In other words, these are very conservative numbers.

Here are some stats on a gallon of diesel:

1 gallon of diesel fuel or heating oil (with sulfur content less than 15 parts per million) = 137,381 Btu

Here is the conversion from Btu to calorie:

1 Btu to calories = 252.05597 calories

So 1 gallon of diesel contains 137, 381 Btu X 252 = 34620012 calories.

An American (I don't really think that we know what a hard days work is) expends 1400 calories in a hard days work.

34620012 / 1400 = 24728 days.

Now we need to take into consideration the inefficiencies of the engines on farm equipment; but still this should begin to give us a picture of how much harder we might have to work without petroleum.

I suppose it's too much to expect you to recognize the irony of you trying to demonstrate that your views have not been skewed by media representations...by suggesting that I go read media representations.

What I can tell you is that the reality of my experience as a white man in America does not line up with the picture you're painting.

Free will and determinism

If determinism — the predictability of the universe...
If that quote is correct then I'm surprised that he's conflating determinism with predictability. They are entirely different concepts. A system can be chaotic - that is, entirely unpredictable, but will still be deterministic.

Think of the parable of the lost nail in the horseshoe. For Want of a Nail - Wikipedia

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

If the nail was found to be missing then it would literally be impossible to predict, just from that fact, that a kingdom would fall. But there is a series of events leading from one to the other that undoubtedly led to that result. So it determined the result.

You can work backwards to find out what determined an event. But only in the very simplest of examples can you work forwards to predict it.

The Sabbath – the fourth of the Ten Commandments

So in other words you don't believe all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof and instruction in righteousness. You believe that one passage in scripture cancels out another passage..
I'm not sure how you just took 1+1 and then decided that it equaled 99, but I will go ahead and suggest that you reread what I said. Apparently you are going to stand on a hill and defend the idea that the Pharisees actually were a literal brood of vipers, slithering and hissing. I can't help you with that decision.

As Obedient Children

Let's go with what Paul states here:
2 Thessalonians 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you,
brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you

to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Those who desire Salvation by faith (period) without obedience that results in faithfulness
are following a different Gospel, and I will not spend another minute of my life debating otherwise.
Only an "easy believe-ism" separates salvation from sanctification. Salvation is all these things.
1 Corinthians 1:30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom,
and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

The Holy Spirit does not sanctify disobedient children.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is Resurrection and Judgment.
To neglect so great a salvation is to neglect preaching
judgment to come, though it is a part of every creed.
How we live in Christ matters. I am not condemning anyone to hell,
As Paul said, true discipleship is the desire to present every believer

holy, unblameable, and unreproveable in His sight.
I am well aware there are those who consider this a "works salvation".
The apostolic doctrine calls it the Father's Will and Purpose.

2 Timothy 1:
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling,
not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace,
which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

Grace without purpose is easily lead astray.

Ephesians 2:8 For you have been delivered by grace through trusting, and even this is not your accomplishment but God’s gift. 9 You were not delivered by your own actions; therefore no one should boast. 10 For we are of God’s making, created in union with the Messiah Yeshua for a life of good actions already prepared by God for us to do.

Should women cover their hair?

1 Cor, 11:14
Does even nature itself not teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, 15 but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her as a covering. 16 But if anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor have the churches of God.

A couple things the writer says here;
Nature.
'The natural man is the enemy of God.'
'We have no such practice'

Do we really believe God is looking at Godly women with a scowl as they pray, or at any time because of their hair? He states that He looks at the heart, the inner man.
Should we find ourselves in an accident and not allow our head to be wrapped? Or not pray? Sheepishly apologize?
Galatians 3:27
For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
It is your heart. If we accuse ourselves, we perhaps should take off our hats... That may put severe restrictions on our walk with God given that I talk with God all day. (I like pork also.)

That was Paul and he did not here in Galatians state this is God's rule.

Modern day systemic racism, does it exist?

Is it possible that, living in Malaysia and experiencing "America" through the filtered lens of media (whether that's mainstream media, bloggers, Youtubers, TikTok, etc), you're perhaps not getting an accurate picture of life in this country? Just throwing that out there.

The Danger of "Keeping Sabbath."

Scripture tells us they didn't. God placed the 4th commandment right at the center of His law.

Are 10 commandments God's law? Yes. Jesus wrote them on stone and instructed Moses to put them in the ark under the mercy seat. That demonstrates God's attitude towards them. No other part of the instructions given through Moses were placed there.
So are you saying that the Ten Commandments are the total sum of God's law? Secondly, how perfectly must they be kept?

Happy May Day

In most countries worldwide, May 1 is a holiday to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of workers. But In the US and Canada,, it's called Labor Day, and is the 1st Monday in September. I suppose we just go our own way.

A bit of unrelated trivia: The word "Mayday" is also a distress call used by pilots when their planes are in trouble. It came about as an English pronunciation of the French word "M' aider." Which means "Help me."
Happy Mayday to you. As a teen, I watched an unhealthy amount of air crash investigation TV shows, though I have always trusted in the safety of planes.

The Danger of "Keeping Sabbath."

Where you get that from?
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Exodus 33:14

And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

The Sabbath – the fourth of the Ten Commandments

Saying nope is non sequitur... What I mean is.... did you read Revelation 12:9? Satan is called a Dragon, The Devil, Satan and the Serpent... all in one verse that binds him to all of those, yet is the same being. He's not God. He isn't all powerful. In Matthew 3:7, John the Baptizer calls the Pharisees A Brood of Vipers. Was that literal? Were the Pharisees a Brood of slithering snakes?
So in other words you don't believe all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof and instruction in righteousness. You believe that one passage in scripture cancels out another passage..

The gospel was preached even to those who are DEAD

What would you make of these two verses, in reference to Sheol?

Jonah 2:2 I called to the Lord in my distress,
and He answered me.
I cried out for help in the belly of Sheol;
You heard my voice.
Matthew 12:39 ...... Yet no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah, 40 because just as Jonah was in the stomach of the sea creature for three days and three nights,[b] so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.
Nice combo. See Jonah's Sheol experience and Jesus' heart of the earth experience

Could you expound on how you would express that "Sheol" is a metaphor?
Good question. Perhaps it is not a metaphor. It could be interpreted literally as the physical grave in the collective sense. In some passages, however, it is used metaphorically and poetically.

So, you draw the conclusion that Jesus visited Angels and not Human Beings, in the versus from 1 Peter?
No.

The OP is clear in it's title.

"The gospel was preached even to those who are DEAD"

The dead refers to 7 possible groups of humans.

Help! I'm dumb! Please break out the crayon and end my confusion.

Please read my OP starting at the beginning. As soon as something is unclear, quote my unclear words, and I'll try to clarify. You are not the first person who has trouble understanding me. Ask my former students :)

The Danger of "Keeping Sabbath."

Do you see people arguing against only worshipping God, not using His name in a holy manner, not murdering or coveting. The only commandment that is in contention is God's holy Sabbath day. Its the only commandment that reveals our Creator Exo 20:11 and the one commandment God said to Remember, and uses the words "holy" and "blessed" It's been attacked for centuries, even predicted in scripture God's enemy would change it. Dan 7:25. The Sabbath deals with our relationship with God- spending time on the day He designated, not the one designated by man, God said to do work and labors Exo 20:9. According to scripture breaking one is like breaking them all James 2:10-12 Mat 5:19, so while breaking the Sabbath is no different than coveting or committing adultery, its the one that most Christians admittedly reject for some strange reason. God wants to bless everyone Isa 56:6 so a little reminder on what God wants us to Remember that brings blessings and sanctification, shouldn't be a bad thing. :)
I can understand your general argument. But do you believe those who choose not to comply will be lost?

People who go Orwellian are usually one of two types:

1. Those who want unlimited power from themselves
2. Those who have a saviour complex thinking they have all the answers

And I don't know which I fear more.
I fear both 1 and 2 equally.
