Donald Trump launches own-brand shoes at Sneaker Con after $355m fraud fine

His appearance was met with loud boos as well as cheers after he presented a pair of the gold-coloured shoes being sold online for $399.
This reminds me of an insightful comment made early in the former presidents term. After him making reference to an associate getting rich and spending his time having sex with lots of women on his yacht, while addressing the Boys scouts national jamboree, someone countered the notion that you could not make this up. Of course you could make there kinds of things up but any sober revision by the author or an editor would remove it as unbelievable.

A picture is worth a thousand

Trump launches a sneaker line

The high-tops, which are gold and emblazoned with a “T” on the outside of each shoe, are called the “Never Surrender High Top Sneaker” and are priced at $399 online. The athletic shoes, which feature a “T” and the number 45 on the sides are priced at $199.

The purchase of a pair of sneakers comes with extra laces and a Trump “superhero charm.”

The website selling the sneakers also features a “Victory47” perfume and cologne for sale at $99 each.

They are being referred to online as Air-Surrections instead of Never Surrenders. I may or may not have cackled out loud the first time I saw that.

It is easier to peddle gawdy shoes and hats than run a proper real estate empire. I can't wait for the Trump belt buckle and underwear....

It appears like he would do anything for a buck.

I'm not sending him money, but I also understand why people who are not Washington establishment insiders would be reluctant to run for public office.
Yes, it may be difficult for outsiders.... But Trump owns the republican side of Washington. How is he not an insider? He isn't even in Washington and whatever he wants the republicans make it happen. He IS an insider.

If he was an insider, they wouldn't work so hard to keep him out.
If he wasn't an insider, they wouldn't be working so hard to get him back.

He was POTUS! For goodness sake. The reason 'they' want to keep him out is because he is a terrible candidate for POTUS. He is a multi billionaire with more right wing political clout than anyone else on the planet.

He is the current establishment.

Why the true elites, of course; the billionaires and their little buddies the multi-millionaires.
Billionaires? Like Bezos? He supports Democrats, his newspaper shills for Democrats. The LinkedIn founder? Votes Democratic.

I recently started a thread about how the RNC needs loan, because their " billionaires" are bailing because of Trump's leading the primary, and the unwashed voters, don't trust the RNC to support Trump.

Trump just installed his own people in the RNC including his daughter in law. Support is not an issue. Getting donations to republicans down ballot may be.

McCarthy was their cash cow, and word on the street is the donors who have long worked with him stopped returning phone calls to the people who voted to oust him. Some of the exit polls cited voters saying they wouldn't vote GOP because they can't govern, so small dollar donations may be drying up. Also independents concerned their money would go to Trumps legal fees instead of his and down ballot reelection campaigns, along with the concern he may be jailed, and belief he is toxic and unfit for office even if he somehow gets off.

People who really care about national security aren't happy with how he handled documents or with the possibility he may have sold state secrets.

McCarthy supports Trump though and endorsed him so we'll see.

If he is the establishment, then Mitch Mc Connell, Romney, and Liz Cheney would be cozied up with him right now.
He’s literally pushed them out. He rules the GOP now. If a GOP politician does not bend the knee they are politically exiled. He’s a messianic figure to many of the MAGA folks.
