FBI's relationship with twitter in influencing the election.

The FBI maintained constant contact with Twitter, to the point of sharing temporary top-secret security clearances, according to the latest release of what Musk allies are calling the "Twitter Files," this time from author Michael Shellenberger. The company also had several ex-FBI members on staff and had open channels to communicate with the agency in the weeks before the 2020 election.
The FBI opened a "virtual war room" with Twitter in September 2020 to handle election misinformation. The channel was a one-way communication from the FBI to Twitter and included representatives from the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

January 6 committee recommends charges against Donald Trump over Capitol riot
Posted 3h ago3 hours ago, updated 2h ago

The US committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot has recommended charges against former president Donald Trump.

At its final public hearing, the panel voted unanimously to refer the former president to the Department of Justice on four criminal counts.

They are obstruction of an official proceeding of Congress, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to make a false statement, and insurrection.

The department is conducting its own investigation into January 6 and is not compelled to act on the committee's recommendations.

The committee made its case against Mr Trump over nine public hearings.

A preview of the final report of the select committee revealed some of the findings against Mr Trump, including:

  • Purposely disseminating false allegations of fraud related to the 2020 presidential election
  • Corruptly pressuring vice-president Mike Pence to refuse to count electoral votes
  • Attempting to enlist justice department officials to make purposely false statements and thereby aid his effort to overturn the presidential election
  • Unlawfully pressuring state officials and legislators to change the results of the election in their states
  • Plotting to overturn the election outcome
The full report is expected to be released on Thursday, Australia time. (Wednesday US time)

Apologist David Wood's, "Randy" needs prayer for his parole appeal

One of the big upcoming Christian Apologist's the last few years is David Wood. I think he is roughly 10 years younger than myself, which would put him in his mid 40s. Wood has done a lot of great Apologetics against Islam due to the fact that his best friend Nabeel Qureshi who died 5 years ago, suffered a lot of persecution due to his conversion to Christianity in the early 2000s. I find David Wood's testimony very compelling, and worth watching videos where he details it out when he is a guest speaker at a church etc. but here is a short video.

My Synopsis for folks that don't watch videos

David Wood in the 1990's is a teenager that is most likely a psychopath (born without a conscience). He is under different delusions the biggest one is he concludes that he is a superior evolved human being. David believed the fact that he did not experience some basic emotions like grief from the loss of the death of a pet, or a friend etc. as evidence of his being more highly evolved than other humans. He does however find himself bound by some of the moral restrictions he was taught as a young kid, so he decides to rebel against these so his evolution can be complete. One day he suddenly decided to murder his father with a hammer when his dad's back is turned, to help with his evolution. His father was severely injured by the surprise attack but not aware who committed it. Law enforcement officials concluded by the scene of the crime and by interviewing David that he did it even though he did not confess to the killing; because it was obvious based on the clues and David Wood was not able to hide the fact that he was mentally disturbed from the various forensic people that interviewed him. All of this led to get him being tried and convicted and sent to a mental hospital for violent felons.

While at the hospital, David continued in his delusions and continued to believe he was superior to all those around him. Eventually however Wood met Randy, Randy was unlike the other people he had met. When Wood would tease or harass him for being a Christian, that it was stupid or silly for believing the Faith/Bible because he was just following what other people told him, Randy pushed back and often won the argument showing how his argument was hypocritical or otherwise defective. This caused David to become a bit obsessed with Randy where he felt the need to compete with him. He began to study the Bible and Christianity just so he could argue better against Randy. He also began to out-due Randy in fasting, this however was his undoing because he actually fasted too long, enough to have problems passing out and going under a 48-hour psychiatric evaluation because the authorities did not understand his fasting (they believed in was some kind of suicidal hunger strike.). His time in isolation however caused him to reflect on his own behavior and beliefs in light of the Bible, eventually resulting in him doing a kind of "Sinner's prayer", and the rest is history as they say...

Randy's Story
Randy case is interesting. He was in the Navy as a young man in his early twenties and "got saved" / became a Christian in the service. His conversion however affected his conscience, in his younger years he had committed a number of misfeasors like vandalism, and a few felonies like property crimes and felt bad about them, and eventually confessed to them at the local police station that caused him to get arrested and serve some time in prison and later he was brought into the criminal mental hospital for some unknown reason where he met David. The nature of his circumstances that he was there by confession rather being caught caused David to initially look down upon him, but also sparked his interest because he was unlike all the other criminal patients at the hospital.

He however used the time productively he studied the faith, and realized it was a great time to practice certain spiritual disciplines like fasting because such activities would not interfere with normal everyday responsibilities like working a job or family.

Interesting enough, Randy's case background seems much less severe than David's, God basically did a miracle with David was as far as transforming him and getting him out of that situation while Randy stayed in a few decades longer. I think some of this is God's plan that he impacted other people's lives besides David's. Also, that God "had a plan for Randy's life". One of the things he studied in his incarceration is Graphic Design, and this is something that David Wood needs. So, it seems like a kind of poetic ending / story book ending that the person was most instrumental in David's Wood conversion can also be helped by him with testifying at his parole hearing and also offering a job and career leaving prison by working in his ministry!

Current Need
So, while the parole hearing from a few months ago went well there is still a need for prayer. (David told his testimony and detailed how Randy was important to his own reform and transformation and the parole board really studied it and took notes). Maybe Satan is trying to keep Randy in the Klink and stop him from helping David's ministry. Anyway, I thought it was a worthy cause for the board, and that some people might be inspired by the story.

Thanks!

Child workers found throughout Hyundai-Kia supply chain in Alabama

Child workers found throughout Hyundai-Kia supply chain in Alabama

At least four major suppliers of Hyundai Motor Co and sister Kia Corp have employed child labor at Alabama factories in recent years, a Reuters investigation found, and state and federal agencies are probing whether kids have worked at as many as a half dozen additional manufacturers throughout the automakers’ supply chain in the southern U.S. state. (...)

Hyundai’s chief operating officer, José Muñoz, told the news agency he ordered the carmaker’s purchasing department to cease business with the suppliers named in the news reports “as soon as possible.” He also said the company would investigate all suppliers to Hyundai's Alabama operations. Hyundai, Muñoz added, would seek to end the use of third-party staffing agencies that many of its suppliers have relied upon to vet and hire workers.

Hyundai is now backing away from Muñoz’s remarks.

In its recent statement to Reuters, Hyundai said it has canceled its plans to cut off suppliers where minors have worked. Two of its suppliers, SMART and SL, have taken “corrective actions” to fire staffing agencies they found problematic, it said. Noting the “important economic role” that parts makers play in many small Alabama towns, Hyundai added, “additional oversight is a better course at this time than severing ties with these suppliers.” (...)

“It’s shocking,” David Weil, a former administrator of the Wage and Hour Division of the Labor Department, said of the signs of widespread child factory work. “The ages involved, the danger of what they are being employed to do, it’s a clear violation.”

Among the children found working at the plant, Reuters learned, were two Guatemalan brothers, aged 13 and 15, who were taken into protective custody by federal authorities. While they worked at SL, the brothers lived without their parents, staying with other factory workers in a sparsely furnished house owned by the president of the staffing agency that hired them.

Prayers for Fr. Frank Pavone

Fr. Frank Pavone is a leading voice in the American pro-life movement, and has been for decades.

Some here may know of him thru their involvement in Rachel's Vineyard and/or the Silent No More Campaign.
Fr. Frank is presently the Pastoral Director of those ministries.

Or perhaps you have heard him speak at pro-life rallies ...

Fr. Frank has done, and continues to do, so much to promote the gospel of life in so many different arenas.

See:

It's been reported this weekend that Fr. Frank has apparently been laicized (dismissed from the priesthood) by order of Pope Francis.
(A full explanation for this action has not yet been presented, though a conflict with his superior appears to be at the root of the problem.)

See:

Catholic or not, if you are pro-life, then you probably also understand the need for strong pro-life leadership ...
and for a strong pro-life leadership presence in the media.

Priest or not, I do not think there is much, if anything, that will keep Fr. Frank from continuing to preach and teach about abortion
and promote healing ... but I would think that prayers for Fr. Frank might also be helpful at this time.

Frank Pavone, antiabortionist head of Priests for Life, dismissed from priesthood by the Vatican for ‘blasphemous communications’ and disobedience

The Vatican has stripped high-profile Catholic leader and antiabortion activist Frank Pavone of the priesthood, spurring further discord within the antiabortion movement in the wake of the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.

Pavone was censured for “blasphemous communications on social media, and of persistent disobedience of the lawful instructions of his diocesan bishop,” according to a letter from Pope Francis’s representative to the United States obtained by the New York Times.

Pavone, the national director of the group Priests for Life, has addressed the crowds at the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., and sits on the board of directors for the National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL). He also is a religious adviser to former president Donald Trump and has publicly questioned the results of the 2020 election.

“Father Frank Pavone has been nothing but honest, courageous and faithful to the ProLife cause from my perspective,” the NACL’s president, Jason Rapert, wrote in a message to The Post. “By what legitimate authority does the Vatican attempt to strip this man of his ministry anyway?

Uh, the Pope? Isn't he like the Elon Musk of the Vatican?

People Claiming To Be The Two Witnesses

H
Happygolucky?
Rev 11:3 doesn’t actually mention giving power. Just “I will give the 2 witnesses of Me” vs. 4 refers us back to Zech 4, so understanding that is critical. Pretty sure Zech 4 remains mostly sealed

January 6 panel considering Trump referral to justice department for obstruction of Congress

The House January 6 select committee is considering a criminal referral to the justice department against Donald Trump for obstruction of an official proceeding of Congress and conspiracy to defraud the United States on the recommendation of a special subcommittee, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The recommendations on the former president – made by the subcommittee examining referrals – were based on renewed examinations of the evidence that indicated Trump’s attempts to impede the certification of the 2020 election results amounted to potential crimes.

The select committee could pursue additional criminal referrals for Trump and others, given the subcommittee raised the obstruction of an official proceeding and conspiracy to defraud statutes among a range of options, including insurrection, and discussions about referrals continued on Thursday, said the sources.

The Department of Justice must give this consideration. More voters will be repelled. Trump's star is waning.

A suitable place for a survey thread.

I recently started a thread in the "kitchen sink" area in which I asked people if they were atheist or theist, and whether they claimed to know their belief position was correct or not. This thread was removed, claiming that discussions about religious belief are not permitted in there. The thread I started was not a discussion about any religious belief (I specifically said in the OP not to start discussions about the religious beliefs of other responders), it was simply a survey, and (I thought) more philosophical in nature, as it didn't require any discussion of any religious faith at all. A person could, after all, answer the poll and not reveal at all what faith they belonged to.

In any case, I could not see where a better option is. I can't post it in the Christians-only area of the site, and since I wanted it to spark discussion, I sought a place in the "Discussion and debate" area. I would have posted it in the philosophy section, but that has been shut down, and none of the other sections in there seemed appropriate. Nor does it seem to fit in the "Exploring Christianity" are, as that would, I think, bias the result away from a true representation of the user base of this site as most of the people who visit that area would be Christians.

Conversations with the staff member assigned to the ticket suggest that there is no suitable place for a thread of this type, and they recommended I start a thread here to encourage the creation of such a forum or sub-forum. I'm very surprised that this site, one of the largest religious discussion boards on the net, does not have a place for a thread about a survey on "Are you a theist or an atheist".

Was the gospel that Jesus preached to Israel under the law of Moses different to what Paul preached the world under grace ?

Gospel of the kingdom or the gospel of grace which one is it ?

This is just a quick study to outline the differences in the gospel that Jesus preached to the nation of israel and the gospel that is given to the gentiles by paul. I’m writing this so that we can recognise the differences between the two, the distinct purposes they both carry and how we should never blend the two together.

When Jesus arrived on the scene the first time 2000 years ago, he came specifically for the people of Israel and NOT the gentile nations.

Matthew 15:24

"I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

He even commanded the disciples only to go out and witness to Israel and not the gentile nations.

Matthew 10:5-7

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

So we can see that in order to be eligible to enter this kingdom that Jesus was preaching you had to be of Jewish heritage.

This reason for this is because Jesus’s original objective was to bring in the prophesied earthly kingdom which was promised to Israel through their forefathers (David, Abraham ect...).

Jesus was ready to do this however Israel were not, they were not in the right state for this to occur. Therefore there were certain works that the entire nation of Israel needed to do, in order to get the nation as a whole into the right condition so that Jesus could then bring in the kingdom.

That’s why there’s lots of passages within the gospels that say things such as ”the kingdom is at hand” or the “kingdom is near”. The Gospel of the kingdom was something that was spoken of with a sense of urgency because Jesus was ready to implement it.

Matthew 10:6

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:15

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Matthew 4:17

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Now some of the things they were required to do were things like.....

Water baptism

Water baptism today is not a requirement for someone to be saved.

But back in this time in order to receive the Holy Spirit they had to be baptised.

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Everything that Jesus preached was pertaining to the nation of Israel.

However this is not the same under the gospel of grace, once someone puts their faith and trust in Jesus Christ death burial and resurrection as full payment for their sin they receive the Holy Spirit at the very moment they make the decision to do this. We become baptised within the spirit.

Titus 3:5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Ephesians 1:13

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

1 Corinthians 12:13

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we bebond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

The Jews were also required to sell all of their possessions if they wanted to inherit the kingdom and have everlasting life

Luke 12:32-33 KJV

[32] Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. [33] Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Acts 2:44-45

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Even when the rich man asked what he must do to inherit eternal life Jesus said

Matthew 19:21

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Another requirement is that they also had to forsake family too.

Matthew 19:29

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

From this we can gather if one wanted to inherit eternal life and gain access into the earthly kingdom Jesus was preaching one had to..

Believe in Jesus as messiah as well as

Sell all their possessions to their poor

Forsake unbelieving family

Be baptised

Keep the commandments

We can see from these scriptures that this gospel that Jesus preached required an element of works in order to be eligible to fufill its requirements.

Now let’s move onto the gospel of grace

Because israel rejected their messiah Jesus Christ, the kingdom that was going to be brought into action to them was postponed and God turned his attention to the gentiles. The bible says that israel is now in darkness until God is finished with the gentiles at the rapture.

Romans 11:25

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Because of this, a new gospel was given to the world in which we would be saved.

This is the gospel of grace that was given to Paul by Jesus Christ himself to be preached among the nations. Paul was raised up by God in order to instruct the gentiles on how to live their lives

Galatians 1:3-4

[3] Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, [4] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: …

Galatians 1:11-12

Galatians 1:11-12 KJV

[11] But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. [12] For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. …

The gospel of grace is that

Salvation is now freely provided to anyone who simply believes in the death and shed blood of Jesus Christ as atonement for their sins. It is completely void of works or behaviour and is a free gift given by solely by his grace through faith.

Romans 3:22-26

[22] Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that BELIEVE: for there is no difference: [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: [25] Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Ephesians 1:7

In whom we have redemption through his BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

1 Thessalonians 4:14

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Philippians 3:9

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

So from this study we can conclude that both of the messages that Jesus preached to israel and what Paul taught the gentiles are two totally different gospels that are used for different purposes.

Many preachers today do not correctly rightly divide the word and instead blend the two together, which not only causes confusion amongst believers but produces a gospel of works.

I will state again, we are under the gospel of grace if anyone wants to receive eternal life and enter into a personal relationship with God. Then all one must do is believe that Jesus died and shed his blood for their sins.

if you would like to receive eternal life and enter into a personal relationship with God just simply believe, if your not sure how to pray then start praying this prayer with a genuine heart.

Dear God

I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please, I believe that your son Jesus Christ died on the cross for me, to save me and I believe that he risen from the dead three days later to pay the penalty for my sins so that I could be forgiven. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you in Jesus’ name amen.

US officials tried to stop Ukraine from killing high-ranking Russian general who was on a risky visit to the front lines, report says

The US tried to prevent Ukraine from killing a high-ranking Russian military official at the onset of Russia's war in Ukraine, according to an investigation published Saturday by The New York Times.

In April, Russian Gen. Valery Gerasimov made plans to travel to Russia's frontlines, according to The Times. American officials found out about Gerasimov's plans but decided to keep the information from Ukraine.
These Biden administration people have no problem in leaking damaging information. It's not their lives at stake.

Is anyone else getting a bug with quotes?

Everytime I try to quote someone the quote box gets so big and all of my text appears in the quote. I can quote posts manually but my typing still appears all over the place with no way of editing. I included a screenshot of what I'm talking about. Is anyone else having this problem? And will there be a fix? Thanks.

Continued stress.

Asking for prayers for my family and I. We are continuing to struggle. Ends are barely getting made. I constantly struggle to keep up rent which I pay weekly at a hotel, find a way to work (buses don’t reach that far and to boot, I work too late), continue to keep food in the house and figure out health insurance for my husband who constantly has problems (today feeling bad enough we might have to call an ambulance). I need prayers or a miracle please. Thank you.
