In need of your prayers and support

Help me please. I'm telling you how deeply I've been attacked by Satan. I'm hearing the crudest things, coming from him. I have a priest coming to my home tomorrow to bless it. Please pray for me, that Satan leaves me alone and then I return to God the Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord and the advocacy of the Holy Spirit and have a zeal for listening to the word of God and that my heart turns holy and pure. Thank you and God bless

Saved Out of All our Troubles

Psalms 34:1-3 ESV

“I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!”

At all times. In the good times and in the bad times, I must bless the Lord. For he is God. And he is the one who made me. And he is the one who gave me salvation from my sin and the hope of heaven when I die. And he is worthy of my praise because he is holy and righteous and good, and in him dwells no evil at all. I must praise him and thank him for all that he is and for all that he has done to save his people from their sins.

And this praise that must be continually on my lips is not to be lip service only. We can praise the Lord with our lips but our hearts can be far from him, for words are just words unless they are backed up with action and heart change and walks of obedience to him, and submission to him as Lord. But yes, we need to be verbalizing our praise to him, but the praise is only genuine when our lifestyles follow suit.

So, if we are to truly magnify the Lord and to exalt his name, this will be evident by how we live. Are we still living to please the flesh? Or are our hearts truly dedicated to following the Lord in obedience to his commands? Are we walking in his ways and in his truth, or are we still doing our own thing? So many people have this idea of worship of God as just singing songs of praise and worship. But true worship of God is giving our lives to him as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to him (Romans 12:1-2).

Psalms 34:4-5 ESV

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.”

As followers of Jesus Christ we are not to be fearful people. Now this is not to say that we will never feel fear. We may feel fear in our emotions sometimes, but we are not to give in to those feelings. We are not to yield to letting fear overtake us. For when we respond in fear to our circumstances, and not in faith, it shows we are lacking in faith and that we are not trusting the Lord entirely with our life’s circumstances.

So, when we come up against situations in our lives that may put fear within us, in our emotions, we need to pray for deliverance, and then we need to reject those feelings of fear and trust the Lord. And we can feel the fear but go against it, too. And sometimes it is that act of faith in stepping out in faith and in obedience to the Lord despite the feelings of fear that alleviates the fear. I have seen the Lord do this in my own life where I went against the feeling and then the feeling of fear disappeared.

I was brought up by a very abusive father when I was growing up as a child, so I had a lot of fear instilled inside me. I know I prayed and prayed over his treatment of me and I sought the Lord for comfort and help to make it through each day. But living with a man who was like a time bomb and you never knew when that bomb was going to explode was a fearful situation. And I ended up with much fear I didn’t even know I had. And then one day the Lord did deliver me and my face was absolutely now radiant.

Psalms 34:6-7 ESV

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.”

We all have troubles. And the Lord doesn’t always deliver us out of our physical troubles. For he said if we follow him with our lives that we will be hated and persecuted as he was. And he said we would have trials and tribulations which come to test our faith. But the Lord will deliver us through our troubles. He will give us the strength we need to endure, and he will carry us through, and he will give us wisdom and discernment in making wise choices. So he saves us from the troubles destroying our lives.

But sometimes he physically rescues us from our troubles, too, but sometimes that might be after he has let us suffer for a while, because he is working his purposes in our lives through our suffering. But the main thing here is that the Lord saves us from our troubles having devastating impacts on our lives in the negative to where we end up caving to the troubles and yielding to them rather than trusting the Lord through them. But he can only save us so much as we are willing to be saved.

Now the Lord takes care of his own. He will provide for us who walk in the fear of the Lord, who honor God with our lives and who take him and his word seriously. Those who fear the Lord are those who honor him as Lord, who walk in his ways and in his truth, and whose lives are dedicated to following the Lord in obedience and ceasing with sin. He will carry us through every trial and every difficult circumstance so that our circumstances do not get the best of us, but so that we are able to rise above our circumstances to keep following the Lord in obedience.

Eternal Father, Strong to Save

William Whiting

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm does bind the restless wave,
Who bids the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.

O Savior, whose almighty word
The winds and waves submissive heard,
Who walked upon the foaming deep,
And calm amid the rage did sleep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.

O Holy Spirit, who did brood
Upon the waters dark and rude,
And bid their angry tumult cease,
And give for wild confusion peace;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.

O Trinity of love and pow'r,
Your children shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire, and foe,
Protect them where-so-e'er they go;
Thus, evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

The blatant waste from housing Illegal Aliens in NY city

This video reminds me of the outrage after Jan 6 and the national guard was called in to protect our capitol, where they were eventually made to sleep in a parking garage sometime later in February. Meantime, Biden had reversed Trump stay in Mexico policies and under the cover of night was not just bussing in illegals around the country, but also flying them in, and paying for their lodging sometimes at expensive hotels all on the public's dime. We seem driven to spend a lot of money on bringing in new homeless people, when we already got plenty of our own domestic ones.

Love feasts, masses and Holy Spirit manifestations?

In the New Testament we read of love feasts, but that all that meant and means is the mass is something I am skeptical about. I am sure the mass is not a love feast, nor really any feast.

Down through the years, Holy Spirit manifestations have made a difference in many people. But are not recorded, the saying of the revivalists are redacted. There are gaps, and they usually remain unexplained. In which people are full of joy or can't speak... I'd say the love feasts involved people quaking as they received love. And that this happens again in revival meetings.

the PAOG, Salvation Army and CCR began with Holy Spirit manifestations and that is more of a love feast.

Here I am, Lord, Send Me

Isaiah 6:1-5 ESV

“In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said:
“’Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!’
“And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: ‘Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!’”

Is this your picture of God? Do you see him as the holy God that he is in all his glory? Do you see him as someone who is to be worshiped above all else? And what is your view of yourself when you view the absolute and total holiness of Almighty God? Are you humbled to even be in his presence, if indeed you are in his presence? Do you know that this awe (fear) of God seems all but lost in today’s modern church?

Not too many people these days, it would appear, are teaching God in this way. One of the latest things I have heard that appalls me is this idea that God in heaven is just so enamored with us humans that he just wants to hang out with us, and so all we have to do is just accept his affection for us and we are now in his good graces. They lower God/Jesus to be more like us humans and as though God is lucky if we should choose to give him the time of day.

Now not all have gone to that extreme, but many are teaching God more as a doting grandfather in the sky there to grant our every desire, but who makes absolutely no requirements of us. And they call that “grace.” They picture God as someone who has offered up his Son on that cross for us so that we will now be forgiven all our sins and so we will have the guarantee of heaven when we die, but they say he makes no requirements of us – not for repentance, not for submission to him, and not for obedience to his commands.

And so many are holding on to a faith which professes Jesus as Lord but which does not make him truly Lord. Many people feel that they said the right words and so now they are in, done deal, and now when they die they get to go to heaven, because they “believed” (undefined) in Jesus once in their lives. But so many are not being taught that God Almighty absolutely makes demands of us who say we are Christ’s followers. It is all over the New Testament. We must die with Christ to sin and we must now follow Jesus in obedience to his commands, and we must no longer live in sin.

If all people who make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ had this view of God presented here in Isaiah 6 it would rock the church of today, and people would be dropping to their knees in genuine repentance and acknowledgment of their sins, and their hearts’ desire would now be for the Lord and not for themselves, to follow him in obedience, and to worship him as the holy God that he is, and revival would break out in the church. Amen!

Isaiah 6:6-7 ESV

“Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: ‘Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.’”

When we come to the Lord with the proper awe (fear) of him, and we humble ourselves before him, contrite in spirit, in true repentance, he forgives us our sins and he gives us new lives in him to be lived for his purposes and for his glory. But then the Scriptures teach that we must continue in him steadfast in faith, and that we must forsake our sins to follow him in obedience to his ways. For if we don’t, but we go right back to living like we did before, and we don’t repent, the Scriptures teach that we will not inherit eternal life with God. So we need to take this seriously.

[Matt 7:21-23; Lu 9:23-26; Jn 6:35-58; Jn 15:1-11; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; 1 Co 6:9-10; 2 Co 5:10; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-11; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 10:23-31; 1 Pet 1:17-21; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

Isaiah 6:8 ESV

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’”

Now Jesus does not save us from our sins just so we can go on living however we want. If our faith is genuine, we died with Christ to sin, and we were raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Our old lives of living in sin and for self were put to death with him so that we will no longer be enslaved to sin but so we will live as slaves to God and to his righteousness. Jesus bought us back for God with his blood so we would now be the Lord’s possession and so we will now honor God with our lives. So our lives are no longer our own to be lived however we want. Now we are to live for the Lord.

So, we don’t hold on to our lives, for if we do we will lose them for eternity. But now we recognize that our lives belong to God. And so when the Lord calls and he says that he wants us to go here or there and say this or that, then that is what we must do. And the Scriptures give us plenty of direction in how we are to live and what it means to be followers of Jesus Christ, and they all paint for us lives which are surrendered to Jesus Christ to doing his will for our lives. So, this is what it should look like if we are true believers in Jesus Christ. We should say, “Here I am! Send me!”

[Matt 7:21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14,24; Rom 12:1-2; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 15:1-2; 2 Tim 1:8-9; Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 1:5; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-17; 1 Pet 2:24; Tit 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 3:6,14-15; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

The Prayer

Written by David Foster, Carole Bayer Sager,
Alberto Testa and Tony Renis

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

I pray we'll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When the stars go out each night
Remind us where you are.

Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

Memory Check

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I am here to ask for your help.

As I get older, I notice that my memory is not as good as it once was. This is probably a normal sign of aging, but I am concerned enough about my current experience that I have scheduled an appointment with a neurologist on March 6th. I hope to have my memory, perception, and cognition all tested to see if there is something wrong with me.

Without going into all the details, I will just say that my memory of certain things does not align with reality. Since I’ve always been very capable, this is very troubling.

When I was growing up, my family (and our circle of friends) were careful to always use only the King James Version of the Bible. As I got older, I learned to use various study guides, reference books, and so on. Nowadays, I like using the Interlinear Bibles.

Here is my dilemna: There are certain words that I remember being commonly used during my younger years, that are not in my copies of the KJV Bible. I am here to ask if these words are in your copies of the King James Bible:

Wineskins
Demon
Hallelujah
‘Holy of Holies’

James Taylor wrote a song in which one of the lines is “My wiring is mis-firing”. Maybe that is what is happening in my old head. If it is, then I hope the neurologist will be able to identify the problem.

But if you will humor an old man, and check your copies of the KJV for the words I listed, I will appreciate your help.

If it turns out that those words have never been in the KJV, then that is one more piece of information for me to consider.

When I have been checked over by the neurologist, I will try to remember to revisit this page and tell you all what I learned from him. Meanwhile, I wish you all the best and hope to meet you in Heaven.

Your brother in Christ,

Howard

Dead or Unconscious? Real miracles of raising the Dead

Studying the miracles in the Bible I got to wondering. Today with our medical knowledge we know that if a person dies
and they get immediate medical attention, they can be 'brought back'. If the heart stops, CPR can be given, electric shock to restart the heart, etc.
But would that really be considered being brought back from the dead?

I think to really be a miracle we need to look to the story of Lazarus.

Yeshua purposely stayed away when he heard his friend Lazarus was sick, then he told his disciples that he had died, but he did not
immediately go to see the family. This he said was for the Glorification of the LORD.

When he gets there with his disciples he finds he has been dead for four days.

Now when I person dies, the body immediately starts to break down. In fact it starts within four minutes of death.
As soon as blood circulation and respiration stop, the body has no way of getting oxygen or removing wastes. Excess carbon dioxide causes an acidic environment, causing membranes in cells to rupture. The membranes release enzymes that begin eating the cells from the inside out. Internal organs begin decomposition.
3-5 days later the body will start to bloat from processes within, kind of like a fermentation, foam starts to form and leak from the mouth and nose. I won't go any further because this is sufficient for our discussion.

When he gets there and asks to see where they buried him, they take him there and ask them to roll away the stone.
Martha, the sister of Lazarus says to him, 'Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.'

And after 4 days, he surely would have.

After praying to the Father he commands Lazarus to come out of the tomb.
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

This is truly a miracle, even without a description of how he looked after being 'unwrapped'.

Now Peter is said to have also raised from the dead, a pious woman named Tabitha. She died and was attended to and laid out on a bed. Peter was staying not far away and was called to the house.
Peter goes there and after hearing about how good a women she was goes into her alone and prays on his knees then turns to the body and speaks to her to arise. This was told about town and many believed in Yeshua after this.

Paul is also accredited with raising someone from the dead, but did he?

Acts 20: 7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. 8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. 9And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed. 12 And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

So was Eutychus really dead? Or was he knocked out? or had the breath knocked out of him?

We can’t see magnetic fields in space directly; instead, their presence is established via the polarization of light. The team were able to infer these fields by using the movements of stars provided by the Gaia observatory and the location of galactic dust revealed by the Planck Space Telescope.

Finding a Texan Stereotype in Tokoname, Japan

Texas Burger.JPG

Came back from Japan from a vacation. Great place, great people and great weather. Thing about Japan is every prefecture has its own distinct look, feel and atmosphere. What I was not quite ready for was finding a somewhat stereotypical Texas eatery in the heart of Tokoname. Single story rectangle building with an outstretched porch and a white pickup on the side. Cacti inside with wooden stools and chairs.

If it was opened I would have went in to sample but alas it is not to be. Just want to share it here for fun.

But kinda give me a sense of nostalgia, back when I was a kid watching 70s & 80s American movies. A place where truckers and bikers stopped for a bite. And usually proceeded with a fight started by the protagonist trying to escape from someone. To be honest I have never been to modern Texas. Is there any eatery like this still existing in Texas? Any Texans?

If Satan Has Deceived the Whole World

Revelation 12:9 "So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to earth and his angels were cast out with him."

Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock, for it is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom

Matt 7:13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

If Satan has deceived the whole world and Christ's flock is a little flock and there are few who go in by the narrow gate, have you ever wondered, if you could be deceived? Have you ever wondered if you really are following the truth or if you could be "of your father the devil" as many people like to accuse each other of?

If you have, what approaches have you taken to undeceive yourself, so to speak. What made you think or wonder if you were deceived in the first place?

Advice Needed

Hi, I wasn't really sure where to post this but just needing some advice on my living situation. So I moved into an apartment that was above a dance studio without knowing it.... The building is shared with several businesses and it didn't jump out to me that one was a dance studio...

I am slowly losing my mind. Our windows are super thin but it's also coming up from the floor since the dance studio is right below us.

They dance M-F from 4 to 9:30pm and some hours on Saturday and Sunday. It's not horribly loud but it's very annoying. Just imagine having to listen to the worst (usually pop) music for that many hours a day. You can't wear ear plugs in your own home that long. Sometimes, I want to just lay in bed to start unwinding for the night around 8:30 or 9, but the music is so loud, it's horrible. I just want peace and quiet.

I've tried calling the dance studio 3 times asking to turn the music down, but I can't really tell if they have or not. I left a voicemail with my landlord the other day about it... She hasn't replied yet but I'm hoping she calls back soon.

I was thinking of emailing my town's zoning people. I just don't know what to do. It's driving me crazy. I am hoping to move out, but we can't seem to afford much else in our area as the other apartments are in sketchy places or more luxury apartments than we can afford. Until our lease is up, though, I am literally going insane. I get so angry every night... I can't relax... It is physically and mentally draining.

Have you guys ever heard of a dance studio being put in an apartment building? I just don't know who thought that was a good idea.

Anyway, any advice on how to deal with this in a Christian manner?

Thanks.
