Hebrews 1

1 Long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways.

From Genesis to now, God had spoken to the Lineage of Adam to Noah, Noah to Shem, Shem to Abraham, Abraham to Isaac, Isaac to Jacob, Jacob to Moses, Moses to Joshua, Joshua to all following men of Israel through these chosen Men, all the way up to the "MAN" of Dt 18:17,18,19 who the very Law of Moses prophesied to clarify many things about Himself and His direct relationship with mankind and nation kind. God used Prophetic Actions, Shadows (Types), Words, Repeating Analogies, Entire Stories that were Parables and Real occurrences, simultaneously, Foretelling Words, dreams and so forth.

2 In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son. God has appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him.

Now, as of these very days, following the long historical lead up to Jesus, God has revealed the "Final Prophet" foretold within MOSES.
Deuteronomy 18:17 The Lord said to me: “What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. 19 I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.
Red - YHWH, and YHWH speaking
Purple - His Royal Prophet
Green - Humanity
John 1:3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
1 Peter 1:20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you
The SON has NEVER, not Existed. The Father has KNOWN the SON and the SON has known the Father forever and INFINITY. Long before this Universe was Created by The Father, through the Son, THEY had ONE Another. Now, at this very time, the SON was REVEALED to us, for the selfless sake of US.

3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature,

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God
Revelation 4:11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
John 14:9-10 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Gold - Tri-Unity (2320 [e] / Theotētos / Godhead / Θεότητος / Deity / N-GFS) <- This word is a single occurrence word in the Greek.
There are 4 main camps of thought involving the BEING of God.
1: Trinity - HARD Division of the Being of God, of ONE Substance (Essence), Three "Distinct" subsistence's that share the SAME Essence (Substance)
This is a very impersonal way to show the matter. It's like showing up on your wedding night and pulling out a math equation that is your intended plans for the celebration. It is the collective result of combatting Unitarianism that originated around 260 AD from a theologian named (Arius). The collective Body that understood the critical importance of understanding the mechanism of Salvation as revealed by Jesus Christ to us knew that it was CRITICAL to understand that God is SIMULTANEOUSLY ONE, YET THREE. All of the Body infighting over this matter led to some unfortunate events. Arianism isn't actually indicative of slaughtering someone as a heretic, but, alas, it happened. So, what happened next? Everybody and their Brother gave up on showing that God is Utterly ONE, as surely that HE is utterly THREE. The Hardline stance that was adopted, was to indoctrinate those that didn't personally study with the "TRINITY" Doctrine.
Trouble is, people that only memorized the idea had utterly no idea how God is also genuinely ONE. It was decided that not only would the Body double down on the Trinity doctrine, but that it would continually legally evaluate words on a level that became disastrous. Theological nerds that memorize all of these various "Heresies" get so flush full of all of the doctrines of man, that they forget everything spoken of has to do with Biblical Canon and is contained within Biblical Canon. If you find yourself excited to reveal what the Holy Spirit of Christ has revealed to you about the amazing Being of God and some Doctrine of Men warrior desires to label you with some Heretical "ISM"... ask them to build Doctrine from Canon Alone to proof that God is Three, then turn around and build the Doctrine to prove that God is One from Biblical Canon, Alone. They'll fold their cards every time, because you just can't do it without violating one of the umpteen thousand (Exaggerating to make a point) Trinity Heresy accusations! Why is this? Because everyone was, at a point, trying to defend an extrapolated man made doctrine that was essentially full of so many eraser marks that the paper got worn thin and weathered. It happens! This doctrine can get you through scripture, but it won't reveal the very Romance and Love that God intended us to see within scripture! MAKE NO MISTAKE, the Bible is God's LOVE LETTER to His Cherished Creation.
Allow me to share the woes that Brick and Mortar based believers that don't dive into scripture run into with the inability to proof this in scripture, during witness. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One God, Three Persons. Same Essence, but distinct subsistence's. Three Personalities, but not three Persons, well, kind of Three Persons, but Not actual divided Persons, just One God with Three Personalities, Well, not Personalities, but subsistence's... wait, did I just commit heresy? Hold up, let me read through the 7 trillion pages of opinions on the one single page... wait... which Creed do I use?!? Um... yeah... Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3 but 1. Give this to someone in good faith and they will be able to hobble around with it, but put them in front of a Unitarian Jew, Muslim, Christian Adoptionist or Atheist with actual Biblical questions that understand Greek, Manuscripts, Hebrew, Aramaic and the squishy words that are a result of the Post Diaspora Jews blurring the Name of God, within scripture to prevent their enemies from learning it... and they will be eaten alive.
2: Unitarianism- Bottom line, this doctrine always has some way to insinuate that Jesus was "Created" and usually that the HOLY SPIRIT is just a "Force, Will or Power" of the Father towards creation. It's named "Unitarian" because it is a simple way of saying that the adherents to this belief Believe that ONLY THE FATHER is God. Every other mental gymnastic that occurs beyond this is simply a flowing way of defending that ONLY God the Father is Actually TRUE God. Side note... the most advanced form of Unitarianism is Adoption... and let me tell you, though I can't agree with this view, due to all scripture, they are typically 100 notches above your typical believer, when it comes to biblical knowledge! These folks are deadly accurate at defending their position in scripture, by going to the codex's, manuscripts, fragments and every known source of scripture on God's green earth. If Adoptionist's would accept church positions to teach the Tri-Unity of God, they would be better at it than MOST! They would then go home and go back to Adoption. I'm not kidding, I respect the living daylights out of these theologians! Do I disagree with them... You bet ya. Do I take them for granted? Nope! They studied to earn their theological chops!
Um... I'm having to edit this. I met a new covenant Adoptionist, today! So, there's that. I don't even know where to put this!
3: Modalism- Bottom line, this flat out says that God is Jesus, period. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all identically ONE and not distinct. Ironically, this actually has more supporting scripture than the final understood Trinity doctrine, but it runs into theological walls at more difficult passages.
4: Tri-Unity of God (This is my opinion and I'll just slap a Link in that shows how I have actively gone about proofing it within scripture). If it was to become a label, it would be TriUneitarian. The e must remain in place to ensure the One of the aspect is understood.
Fair warning, before you click on this Link <- Link Here, it will be attacked by some folks because it is directly from scripture, which is now foreign to many who have never searched out this matter within scripture for themselves.

3 continued- sustaining all things by His powerful word.

The Son is referred to as the LOGOS or MEMRA, which are words that mean the very summation of Wisdom, Existence, Origin, Truth, ALL Things... Logos is Greek and Memra is Hebrew, but in short, these words get translated to WORD. This is a direct way of saying that The very Physical Presence of God is the summation of all things GOOD, intellectually incomprehensible and meaningful that define TRUTH. To get direct, just as we use our Bodies to accomplish our Purposes, The BODY of the FATHER is the SON. Once this concept is fully "grasped" <- theological pun, it becomes obvious that it is the Son who sustains ALL of existence known, and unknown. This doesn't mean "Micro Manage". What it means is to provide the very Love, energy, substance and interaction required to maintain All of All that God has EVER Created! Want an idea of what that looks like?

3 continued- After making purification for sins,

Colossians 1:20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
2 Corinthians 5:18,19,20,21 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

3 He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

1 Peter 3:22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.
Acts 7:56 “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

Isaiah 41:13: “For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” Right hand – Hebrew: Yamen – right hand.

In ancient culture, the right hand was always a symbol of strength as the right hand for most people was one’s dominant hand. It was the right that you extended when you shake hands with someone as it was believed your heart was in your right hand. Hence when you shake hands you are sharing your heart with someone. The handshake had a much stronger meaning in those days.

All that is considered good came from your right hand.
Before the advent of toilet paper, it was your left hand that performed the tasked. Hence the left hand came to represent all that is bad, corrupted and soiled.

As the right hand was, in most cases, the dominant hand it was considered the most powerful hand and when speaking of a metaphor the right hand in Hebrew culture represent strength and power. The word for right hand in Hebrew is “Yamen” and means, get this, right hand. Do you ever have the problem of looking a word up in the back of Strong’s or your Lexicon and having it tell you what you already know? There are some other ways to get insight into a Hebrew word. For instance, the word is spelled “Yod, Mem, Nun.” The Yod speaks of a message from heaven, the Mem speaks of a revelation from heaven and the Nun tells you that this revelation will give you strength and power.

Tomorrow, we will have to dive in to a simplified pictorial representation of the Jewish Tabernacle. This is How deep Hebrews really is! We are only 3 verses in and it is full of things that are the very deepest depths of the Gospel. It is by far, the most Revelatory book in the New Testament! See you there, tomorrow.

All Love in Jesus Christ to All of you!

Is it okay to eat pork?

Yes, Mark 7:

19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
Paul confirmed that in Romans 14:

14 I am convinced and fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. … 20a Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean.
More generally, Colossians 2:

16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day.
Eating pork or shrimp is fine but you don't have to. If you can avoid eating pork and shrimp, good for you :)

1,500-year-old church drawings show Christian pilgrims arriving by ship at Gaza port

Excavations in Israel are offering a rare window into Christian pilgrimage in the Byzantine era.

Finds from the dig at a Byzantine-period church in Rahat, in the Northern Negev, have revealed a trove of wall art by pilgrims featuring ships.

"These intriguing drawings may have been left by Christian pilgrims arriving by ship to the Gaza port — their first inland stop was this Rahat church; continuing from here on to other sites throughout the country," excavators from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) explained.

One drawing depicted what appeared to be a two-masted ship, and its exacting details testified to the artist's familiarity with maritime life, but "since the drawing was found upside-down, it seems the person placing the stone during construction was either unaware it bore a drawing, or did not care."

The IAA has been conducting excavations at the site for several years.

"This is a greeting from Christian pilgrims arriving by ship to Gaza port," the IAA said.

Should you study Koine Greek and ancient Hebrew?

Do you have to learn Greek and Hebrew to understand the bible fully?

No one can fully understand the Bible. Studying the Koine Greek and ancient Hebrew languages will help you understand some verses better. It is not a prerequisite to know God, who dwells in you.

Should you study Koine Greek and ancient Hebrew?

If you are interested in grammar and syntax, then yes. If not, then no. Would you read something like Grammatical Mood on a daily basis?

Some claim:

I was listening to a wonderful Bible scholar and he said you should at least know the Greek and Hebrew alphabet to appreciate the deeper meaning of scripture.
That's superficial. Knowing the spellings does not give you that advantage. Worse, it makes you think that you have that advantage over people who can't spell in Greek or Hebrew.

The best way to learn Greek or Hebrew is to study it in a classroom setting from a professor.

Studying grammar is a serious business. If you enjoy doing lexical-syntactical analysis, then go ahead.

Did Jesus create good wine that the wedding guests got drunk on?

John 2:

10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.”
Berean Literal Bible:

and said, “Everyone serves the fine wine first, and then the cheap wine after the guests are drunk. But you have saved the fine wine until now!”
Did Jesus create good wine that the wedding guests got drunk on?

No. Barnes explained:

We should not be deceived by the phrase "good wine." We often use the phrase to denote that it is good in proportion to its strength and its power to intoxicate; but no such sense is to be attached to the word here. Pliny, Plutarch, and Horace describe wine as "good," or mention that as "the best wine," which was harmless or "innocent" - poculo vini "innocentis."
Pliny expressly says that a good wine was one that was destitute of spirit (lib. iv. c. 13). It should not be assumed, therefore, that the "good wine" was "stronger" than the other: it is rather to be presumed that it was milder.
The wine referred to here was doubtless such as was commonly drunk in Palestine. That was the pure juice of the grape. It was not brandied wine, nor drugged wine, nor wine compounded of various substances, such as we drink in this land. The common wine drunk in Palestine was that which was the simple juice of the grape.
According to Barnes, what the wedding banquet MC called "good wine" was what we call "grape juice" today.

An Evil Eye

Mark 7:
20 And He said, What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders,
22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness,
an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.

23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.

One of many disturbing facts about the world is the taking of ideas from the Bible and applying them

in a contemporary way that clouds the truth. The evil eye is not a stare or giving someone a dirty look.
Consider this statement by the owner in the parable of the vineyard for insight.

Matthew 20:

14 Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.
15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things?
Or is your eye evil because I am good?

Now, hear the words of the prophet Isaiah.

Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light,
and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

At a most basic and essential level, every believer must address the carnal tendency
to see
every fault in others, while making every excuse to downplay or own shortfalls.
A fine example from the teachings of Paul to elaborate.

Romans 14:

4 Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls.
Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother?
For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me,
and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this,
not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.

This becomes a critical issue when we understand that an evil eye clouds our ability
to perceive and follow the Spirit in every area of our Christian walk.

Luke 11:

34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good,
your whole body also is full of light.
But when your eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.
36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark,
the whole body will be full of light,

as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.

The “good eye” receives the light of Truth, and the Lord’s discipline

Proverbs 6:23
For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light;
and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

This is central to receiving the “sure mercies of David”.

Psalm 132:17
There will I make the horn of David to bud:
I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

GOP elections board member refuses to certify Georgia primary results

Fulton County elections board member Julie Adams was a holdout in voting to certify the votes, and gave an ultimatum that she would do so only if granted access to detailed voting data, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

On May 22, a day after the state's primary, Adams sued the board and the county’s elections director, lodging accusations that she was "unable to fulfill her oath of office” and demanding that she get access to “essential election materials and processes."

Adams, who also serves as director for the Tea Party Patriots, is one of two board members nominated by the Fulton County Republican Party to the five-member board and was sworn in back in February.

Do you agree with CNN?

“The burden of proof is an important one to remind everyone: It’s on the prosecution, right? They need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he commit — that Donald Trump broke the law. And you think after listening to all of this, you think they fell short. How?” host Kate Bolduan asked.

Zelin responded, ““They fell way short, because let’s start with reasonable doubt. What is reasonable doubt? And it’s not simply a doubt based upon reason. Any time a human being needs to make an important decision in life, if you have enough information, for example, doctor says you need open heart surgery. ‘Doc, go ahead and schedule. I don’t have a reasonable doubt.’”

“Conversely, if I say ‘I appreciate it, but I need a second opinion, I need more information,’ that is having a reasonable doubt. There is reasonable doubt all over this case,” he added.

NCIS Sydney and a Shark Arm Murder

Out of curiosity I watched "NCIS - Sydney" tonight for the first time. The introduction had a shark coughing up a former US Navy Seal's arm in a tidal swimming pool.

I was sceptical about a shark being swept into a tidal swimming pool, but apparently it did happen once at least. Mind you it was a juvenile and wouldn't have been big enough to swallow an arm.

Part of the reason I watched the show was that I knew there really had been a "Shark Arm Murder" case involving a boxer murdered by a criminal associate or associates in Sydney, but it was a long time ago in 1935.

No doubt the scriptwriters picked up on the old case and used it to underpin an NCIS episode.

Watchdogs 2?

Hi everyone, I just recently bought a game called Watchdogs 2 on Steam, however it has alot of profanity in it and drugs and alcohol, my question is it acceptable to play this? The scripture does say that all things are permissible. I uninstalled it because I didn't think I should have it, but it is not possible to permanently remove a game from Steam and I thought that maybe I would have to eliminate Steam completely to get rid of it. I have like $1000 worth in games on Steam, am I spiritually confused? Thanks

Ukraine Aid Packages Leave Many Unanswered Questions

It didn't even last a month.
In late April, Congress waved Ukraine's colors once again while appropriating another $60 billion for the Ukraine war. Within days, though, the same people who pushed for the package on the Hill, in the White House, and throughout the Washington establishment began saying our aid wouldn't be enough for Ukraine to stop Russian advances.

They're already beating the drum for more support.

Make no mistake. My organization, the Heritage Foundation, wants Ukraine to win and America to flourish. So do the American people. What most Americans don't want, however, is for Washington to prioritize Ukraine's security to the detriment of our fiscal health and other pressing domestic priorities, such as the crisis at the southern border.

A recent poll we conducted of voters in battleground states found that three out of four respondents opposed sending more aid to Ukraine without fortifying our own border. Most (56 percent) also felt that the United States had already sent too much aid to Ukraine—and that was before this latest package passed.

They're right. Since 2022, Congress has designated more than $173 billion for the conflict in Ukraine—nearly as much as the Army's annual budget and about $1,300 per American household—and there is still no plan for victory or peace from the commander in chief. All of this, of course, comes on top of an $895 billion budget for the Department of Defense this year.
The lack of serious thought behind this massive investment is startling, and merits further scrutiny. Even as Democrats and Republicans inside the beltway congratulate one another on doing "the right thing" by shoveling another unpaid-for tranche of taxpayer dollars at the problem, there remain many unanswered questions on the war in Ukraine.

Testing a Biblical Objection to Purgatory

Where’s purgatory in the Bible? Protestants ask this all the time.

“Where’s purgatory in the Bible?” Protestants ask this all the time.

Any Catholic who is familiar with apologetics knows to answer with 1 Corinthians 3:11-15:

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
Paul is talking about the Day of Judgment, which comes after death (see Hebrews 9:27). And in light of the “fire” that tests the quality of a person’s works, Catholics argue that the person is being purified. Fire is used metaphorically in Scripture as a purifying agent—in Matthew 3:2-3,11 and Mark 9:49—and as that which consumes: Matthew 3:12; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8). This state of existence can’t be heaven because the individual has the defilement of bad works and is suffering loss. Nor can it be hell because Paul says the person “will be saved.” A state of purification in the afterlife that is neither heaven nor hell—that’s purgatory!

But for Protestants it’s not so clear. They offer a few reasons why they think this doesn’t refer to purgatory.

One is that Paul says these things will only happen at the Final Judgment—“for the Day will disclose it” (v.13; emphasis added). For this text to support the Catholic doctrine of purgatory, so the argument goes, it would need to speak of an intermediate judgment before the Second Coming. Since it doesn’t, a Catholic can’t use it to support purgatory.

What should we make of this Protestant counter? Is it a precious stone that would survive the fire of scrutiny? Or is it more like straw? Let’s test it and find out.

The Lord Shows Compassion

“The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.”
(Psalms 103:8-10 ESV)

If you stop reading right there, you might get the idea that God’s grace to us overlooks all our sins, that he does not correct, chastise, rebuke, discipline, warn, and judge us if we continue living in deliberate and habitual sin once we profess faith in Jesus Christ. For that is the picture of God’s grace which is commonly being taught today, here in America, anyway. Some people even go so far as to say that God no longer sees when we sin and so when he looks at us, all he sees is Jesus, regardless of our lifestyles of choice.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting
to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children's children,
to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.”
(Psalms 103:11-18 ESV)

But here is where we learn who those words apply to, and they are not for everyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ with their lips. They are for those who fear the Lord (stated here 3 times), who keep his covenant, and who remember to do his commandments. We are those who have these promises, who walk in obedience to our Lord, and not in sin, in practice, and who take God’s words to us (us who believe in Jesus) in all seriousness, and who, by the Spirit, are putting them into daily practice, in the power of God.

And now I know that this is Old Testament teaching, but the New Testament teaches the same thing. For Jesus said that if anyone would come after him, he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to our old lives of living in sin and for self, we will lose them for eternity. But if for Jesus’ sake we deny self, die daily to sin, and follow him in obedience to his commands, then we have the hope of eternal life with God (see Luke 9:23-26; cf. Ephesians 4:17-24).

And he said that not everyone who says to him, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING the will of God the Father. For many will stand before him on the day of judgment proclaiming him as their Lord and claiming all they did in his name, and he will answer them, “I never knew you! Depart from me you workers of lawlessness.” Why? Because they did not fear (honor, revere, obey) him, they did not keep his covenant, and they were not obeying his New Covenant commands (Matthew 7:21-23).

And God’s grace, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we await our Lord’s return. For Jesus Christ gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works, the works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them, as his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works (Titus 2:11-14; Ephesians 2:8-10).

And to fear the Lord means to honor him, to revere him, to respect him, to do what pleases him, to believe him, and to take his words seriously (to heart), and to obey them. It is for us to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord, i.e. what is acceptable to him, in his power and strength. And it is for us to worship him by presenting our bodies to him as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to him. For it is also to cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

[Matt 10:28; Luke 1:50; Acts 9:31; Acts 10:34-35; Rom 3:10-18; Rom 12:1-2; 2 Co 5:6-11; 2 Co 7:1; Php 2:12-13; Heb 5:7; Heb 12:28-29; Rev 11:18; Rev 14:7; Rev 15:4]

The whole purpose of Jesus giving his life up for us on that cross was so that we would be crucified with him in death to sin and raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. So we are not to let sin reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires, for if sin is what we obey, it leads to death. But if obedience to our Lord is what we obey, it leads to righteousness and to sanctification, and its end is eternal life (Romans 6:1-23; 1 Peter 2:24).

And his word teaches us that if sin is what we practice, and not righteousness, and not holy living, and not walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commands, that we do not know God. We are not in fellowship with God. And if we claim to be, we are liars. We are not born of God. But we are of the devil. And that is because we have not died with Christ to sin and we are not walking in obedience to his commands, so we don’t have forgiveness of sins, and we do not have salvation and eternal life with God.

Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

Hymn lyrics by William Williams, pub.1745
tr. by Peter Williams, pub.1771
Music by John Hughes, 1907

Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah,
Pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven,
Feed me till I want no more (2X).

Open now the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield (2X).

Lord, I trust Thy mighty power,
Wondrous are Thy works of old;
Thou deliver’st thine from thralldom,
Who for naught themselves had sold.
Thou didst conquer, Thou didst conquer
Sin and Satan and the grave (2X).

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of deaths, and hell’s destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to Thee. Amen (2X).

Prayer for a job

Asking for prayer to find a suitable job. Because of my disabilities, I'm looking for a remote from home job.

I'm considering medical transcription. A friend of mine is going to try to contact someone they know who is in the medical field about how I could get hired by a company who would pay for the course/certification, because I can't afford to do that on my own.

If that falls through, then something like that would be good. Where I can work on my own and not have to use the phone. Thanks.

Why Does the Bible Say So Much About Widows?

Why Does the Bible Say So Much about Widows?

All Over Scripture

Much earlier in my ministry, I began to include widows in the public prayers of the church where I was the pastor. I spoke at a gathering of ministers on public praying and mentioned widows among those who were often neglected in the prayers and ministry of the church. Called to care for widows in my own congregation, I began to study the Scriptures.

I soon discovered that there were very few books written about caring for widows but was taken aback by how much the Bible said about them. Whether you read Moses and the prophets, the Psalms and the Proverbs of Solomon, the four Gospels, or the book of Acts and the letters to the churches in the New Testament, you will not be able to read far without the subject of widows coming up. There are about eighty direct references to widows in the Scriptures. Why?

The Defender of Widows

Fundamentally, God is the kind of God who keeps a careful eye on the widow. He is profoundly concerned for her, together with the stranger and the fatherless. He is righteous and protects them for he is “a father of the fatherless, a defender of widows . . . in his holy habitation,” (Psalm 68:5).

The incarnate Son of God is like him. He cared for his widowed mother (John 19:25-17), he raised from the dead the son of the widow of Nain and returned him to his mother (Luke 7:11-17), and, in the spirit of the prophets, condemned those who took advantage of widows (Matthew 23:24).

Called to Imitate God

In line with this, God commanded that the nation of Israel care for widows, being diligent to not isolate them or take advantage of their vulnerability. Deuteronomy 16:11-14 shows how God provided for widows so that they were not excluded; instead, they enjoyed full participation in the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles.

However, when the nation of Israel turned away from serving God, they also turned away from his commandments. Who suffered when that happened? Widows were among the first casualties. The Old Testament prophets reproached those who wronged widows and called the nation back to its God-given responsibilities (e.g. Isaiah 10:1-3, Jeremiah 22:1-5, Ezekiel 22:6-7).

The church is called to be God-like, imitating his example and obeying his commandments. The early church cared for widows (Acts 6). In fact, the task was so important that seven men of good reputation, full of wisdom and the Holy Spirit, were selected to be responsible for the matter.

What's more, Paul laid out clear instructions in 1 Timothy 5 about how widows were to be regarded and treated. James did not mince his words in James 1:27. He said, in effect, “Let’s be clear about the nature of real religion. It must be visible and practical. It visits widows and orphans in their trouble as well as maintains moral purity in an evil world.”

Intercessory Prayer for those in need

Pray that GOD will soften the hearts of Jake, Brandon and Daniel. Remove the spiritual blindness from their eyes, and help them to understand the truth about Jesus. Bring them to repentance and salvation. Help me to let my light shine before men that they may see my good deeds and glorify my Father in heaven. Pray that a friendship will develop. A specific need would be Jakes marijuana usage. Please pray that he will be sent free from it. Thank you.

US pier constructed off Gaza has broken apart

The temporary pier constructed by the US military to transport aid into Gaza broke apart and sustained damage in heavy seas on Tuesday in a major blow to the American-led effort to create a maritime corridor for humanitarian supplies into the war-torn enclave, the Pentagon said.

The pier was “damaged and sections of the pier need rebuilding and repairing,” Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said on Tuesday. The pier will be removed from its location on the Gaza coast over the next 48 hours and taken to the Israeli port of Ashdod, where US Central Command will carry out repairs, Singh said. The repairs will take more than a week, further delaying the effort to get the maritime corridor fully operating.

Earlier, four US officials told CNN the pier broke apart in heavy seas.

Part of the pier, which consists of a narrow causeway to drive aid into Gaza and a wider parking area to drop off supplies transported by ship, disconnected on Sunday, the officials said. The parking area will have to be reconnected to the causeway before the pier can be used again.

The damage, first reported by NBC News, occurred three days after heavy seas forced two small US Army vessels to beach in Israel, according to US Central Command, while another two vessels broke free of their moorings and were anchored near the pier.

“I believe most of our soldiers were able to remain on the vessels and still are currently on them,” Singh said during Tuesday’s Pentagon press briefing. “And … within the next 24 or 48 hours, the Israeli Navy will be helping push those vessels back and hopefully they’ll be fully operational by then.”

Democratic Party in full-blown ‘freakout’ over Biden????

One adviser to major Democratic donors keeps a running list of reasons Biden could lose.
A pervasive sense of fear has settled in at the highest levels of the Democratic Party over President Joe Biden’s reelection prospects, even among officeholders and strategists who had previously expressed confidence about the coming battle with Donald Trump.

All year, Democrats had been on a joyless and exhausting grind through the 2024 election. But now, nearly five months from the election, anxiety has morphed into palpable trepidation, according to more than a dozen party leaders and operatives. And the gap between what Democrats will say on TV or in print, and what they’ll text their friends, has only grown as worries have surged about Biden’s prospects.
“You don’t want to be that guy who is on the record saying we’re doomed, or the campaign’s bad or Biden’s making mistakes. Nobody wants to be that guy,” said a Democratic operative in close touch with the White House and granted anonymity to speak freely.
But Biden’s stubbornly poor polling and the stakes of the election “are creating the freakout,” he said.
“This isn’t, ‘Oh my God, Mitt Romney might become president.’ It’s ‘Oh my God, the democracy might end.’”
Despite everything, Trump is running ahead of Biden in most battleground states. He raised far more money in April, and the landscape may only become worse for Democrats, with Trump’s hush-money trial concluding and another — this one involving the president’s son — set to begin in Delaware.
The concern has metastasized in recent days as Trump jaunted to some of the country’s most liberal territories, including New Jersey and New York, to woo Hispanic and Black voters as he boasted, improbably, that he would win in those areas.

While he’s long lagged Biden in cash on hand, Trump’s fundraising outpaced the president’s by $25 million last month, and included a record-setting $50.5 million haul from an event in Palm Beach, Florida. One adviser to major Democratic Party donors provided a running list that has been shared with funders of nearly two dozen reasons why Biden could lose, ranging from immigration and high inflation to the president’s age, the unpopularity of Vice President Kamala Harris and the presence of third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Political deception & authoritative control spits on the importance of remembering the past

Greetings all. I learned about this awesome documentary over Memorial Day Weekend, and how so very fitting because of the numerous people and families with military service and background that have been sucked into this very terrible yucky mess of shallow manipulativeness so dictated by personal inner insecurity within so many people in positions of authority and control. However, even those without military service or background are wholly deserving to be remembered.

Rather fascinating in a heart-crushing kinda' way, to think of how the actual real truth behind this event has similar patterns to the organized plot when JFK was killed.

Various things that are too nonsensical to actually be logical and reasonable that they're impossible to actually believe as truth except to people who don't care about patient thought to look at more than just the surface. The actual real truth of this recent event will keep getting more and more known as time goes by just like with JFK, but because those in the positions of actual authority and control are too much a part of the machine that is so locked into personal inner insecurity along with fear against standing up for the truth for how government is supposed to be for and on behalf of the citizenry, the long-term repercussions and devastating effects to the wholeness and well-being of our country and society will forever be thrown by the wayside.

This documentary was done prior to the one mentioned above so the more recent one has additional truth that is somewhat deeper or more detailed, but this earlier one has plenty of awesome truth and various aspects not covered in the more recent one.

Both of those documentaries have undeniable truth in actual video footage and interviews with people of honesty who genuinely care about society and the country and who care what the purpose of government is supposed to be for. The very small amount of money they cost to buy/watch is beyond being worth every penny, but get the 2nd if you can only get one.

In quiet reflection, I contemplate what a monumental bummer all this is, that people in the positions of authority and control, of both our political system and our judicial system, have zero grasp of how utterly serious it is that the manipulative deception they are propogating onto society is destroying an aspect of their future that is just as special as it is seriously important. I reflectively contemplate also on how the world of organized formalized religion has been destroying, and presently continues this destroying, of what really is intended to be the simplicity of how their personal futures are so gravely affected. Just as with the people involved with the organized plot and killing of JFK, these political and judicial fruitcakes who had and still are, propogating this manipulative deception onto society and especially the people who they have imprisoned and the families whose lives have been destroyed, have utterly zero grasp that the time is coming when they are old and will then have no choice but to look back upon the memories of what they did with their lives during this situation. There is a beautiful and wonderfully special spirituality to this human life that we have but one of, and of its many purposes there is one purpose that stands out above all: the importance of remembering the past and studying it so as to imagine our personal future and think about it from the perspective of remembering the past, so that we can improve our present compared with our past as best and as fully as possible with improved self-awareness and strenthened inner well-being right alongside increased respectful considerateness for our fellow human beings, so that our future will be as happy and as peaceful as possible with as few as possible bummer memories to look back upon, and where bummer memories have understanding and self-forgiveness inspired by God's spirituality alongside them. Still more important than that, is to have as many memories as possible that give true fulfillment and happiness for the life we've been living, along with plenty tears of *real* happiness deep down inside those personally intimate places for the special touchings to lives of people who are close, as well as to the occasional stranger we encounter.

All of this matters because of a truth of how a human being is made, comprised of not just a physical brain which dies with the physical body, but also a mind and human spirit which interacts with the physical brain and then lives on after physical death. This truth of how a human being is comprised doesn't care about personal religious beliefs because it simply *is* a truth of how a person is comprised and it *is* a truth to the spirituality there is to living and experiencing this earthly life. This spirituality that there is to life, comes from God and is given inspiration to by God without regard for expectations put upon a person by formalized organized religion that are shallow and without reflective thought, for the intended purpose of always using one's imagination our whole life to study our present and then our future with relation to remembering the past from that future, which begins with making our present to be improved in comparison to our past. In this, an invigorating and refreshing way is explored to see and understand important things about ourselves and about this life we're living that we have but one of.

The people of authority and control who propogate these manipulative deceptions onto society such as what is very clearly described in those two documentaries, are destroying their futures by the memories they are creating for themselves, and destroying the futures of their own kids/families by the legacy they leave behind of how their parents and grandparents before them, lived their lives.

It is the sad and tragic shallowness in the world of organized formalized religion that belittles this aspect of life into a conundrum of rules and the supposed insistence of following of expectations by other human beings, which then turn many people off against God, which God is thankfully very understanding and patient about. The most spiritually belitling or devaluing of these influences of formalized organized religion comes from the shallowness of insistent expectations by Charismatic and Pentecostal churches. It is they who fully believe in and practice the event by which the extra-added measure of God's spirituality of life comes into the personal lives of human beings, but their typical focus is so shallow and impatient that the wondrous vastness of what can be personally achieved during this earthly life ends up being lost by the wayside, neglected, that a large majority of the intended personal benefit and inspirational helpfulness never gets achieved and experienced.

The fullness of the after-effects of this very special event by God, are not given the freedom to move and flow in the minds and spirits of the many many people who go to those churches and pay heed to what is talked about in their broadcasts on the networks of TBN and CBN. The most important of these after-effects of this special event, is the extra-added measure of God's spirituality of life giving vibrant life inside the imagination and inside the memory, to remember the past and also to envision the future with relation to an improved present in comparison with the past, and to then envision remembering the past from that envisioned future time, so that even 6 months and a year from now is being envisioned as a part of the past that is being remembered from one's future that is now being envisioned in the present.

This is the most important and most special aspect of God's spirituality of life and of being alive and of being a person, that comes in full measure by the special event that is believed in and practiced by Charismatic and Pentecostal churches, but which is not given even remotely close to the recognition and awareness that it not only deserves, but is in very sore need of. And the organized plot by multiple people for killing JFK is but one example of this proof. Various events and methodologies in the corporate business world are numerous perfect proofs. The business practices of the executives in charge of pharmaceutical companies and their research scientists are perfect proofs. The existence and widespread increase of human trafficking is a perfect example of this proof, both by the people who do the kidnapping and enforcing and also by the law enforcement that is too afraid to vigilantly pursue those in need of pursuing and to change laws and methods of evidence that need change so as to fit the ways in which human trafficking happens. The asininely backwards logic with the manipulated control and domination of the transgender movement, is a perfect proof and on steroids at that, because it's control and domination to demand that many thousands of people reject the importance of remembering the past and destroy their future as well, which then would continue for years and generations.

And these 2 documentaries of this very recent event in our own capitol contain instance after instance of this proof. The focus in Charismatic and Pentecostal churches, as well as all of organized formalized religion, really is in dire need of serious alteration and expansion. This importance of God's spirituality of life for this one special precious earthly life that we have, really needs to be awakened to with umpteen bazillion voices. There would then be quite the epiphany and awakening to the seriousness of letting God's spirituality of life flow in the mind and spirit so as to envision the future that is being led up to and to envision remembering the past from that future time so as to realize how horribly cuckoo-whacko these decisions of control and authority are being. There needs to be the realization that "the separation of church and state" is, in fact and in truth, itself completely separate from how these political and judicial fruitcakes are all human beings too, with the same responsibilities of caring about their futures and their kids' and grandkids' futures, and then what that means to care about envisioning what they're doing to the present lives and futures of us citizenry out in society. Charismatic and Pentecostal churches need to wake up to an expanded focus on God's spirituality of life, as do the ministry organizations that broadcast on CBN and TBN, so that this very special and seriously important aspect of living this one precious earthly life we have, becomes an oft-repeated mantra that not even one day goes by that it is not repeated numerous times. But alas, their focus is so shallow and impatient without reflective thought, that inside their own little world of their own church building or their own organization, they perceive only that their own little world is doing OK because they're abiding by their own expectations of what is OK, so these seriously important aspects of this one precious life we have, just keep on and keep on being neglected by the wayside, just like very important and special aspects of God's spirituality of life started to be neglected back in the 2nd half of the 1st century and 1st half of the 2nd century. Lol, gee how nice, the tradition of neglectful forgetfulness just keeps living on, not going away, like the life-sucking cockroach that it is.
