If you do a search for Naturist Christians on the internet, you will find some sites that have photos of simply naked people, doing everyday things like playing at the beach, mowing the lawn, swimming, playing sports like volleyball, basketball etcetera. Not even the slightest hint of sex or sexuality.

Porn, on the other hand, takes God's image and distorts it and it's purpose into an object of degradation and debauchery, making a mockery of God's design and intent for sex and the institue of marriage, even if it is done, as one other poster said, in jest.

I think it goes deeper. Maybe it's an unconscious jealousy and want suppressed deep down like air in a corked bottle. Or maybe it's a protesting too much, and expression of what the right answer Should be, but being guilty of doing exactly that. People tell more by the attitude than the sentiment.

Or capitalistically to make money. If people don't buy it, the business fails and it looks like a thriving business. Some of them even seem to enjoy doing it and making the money they make from it.

But the question is, where is the line? So it's not all Unacceptable, only what crosses the line into Porn?

And through the whole gambit of possibilities, from single person nude photos, up to whatever you imagine is out there or know is out there, isn't Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder? Goes back to economics.. if there were no audience, there would be no {whatever level and line there is} available

So.. Porn = bad, Nudity/naturism = ok. But I'm sure people won't agree on where the line is.

If I were a married man reading Mat 5:28 on the day it was written I would have gathered that I was not allowed to long for a married woman - I could not have her, she belonged to another man. A single woman though was different. Longing for her was not forbidden by this verse because if I chose I could have her. I could go to her father, ask for her hand in marriage, and marry her (assuming he agreed and in some cases if she also agreed). Alternatively, I could take her as a concubine or paramour. None of this was forbidden by Jewish law or Christian teaching.

In Col 3:5 it is the Greek word 'epithumia' that has been xlated to 'lusts' - we are not to long to do that which we are forbidden from doing. This fits with the rest of this verse - 'Immorality' is referring to unnatural sex acts (homosexuality, lesbianism, beastiality) and likely also to other acts of adultery or sex with close relatives that are specifically forbidden. 'Impurity' likely refers to impure motives or to lustful, luxurious, profligate living. There is certainty that this word refers to being physically unclean (either from not bathing or a woman having her period) which might be it's meaning here, but it may have the further non-physical meaning.

Now, here is where things get interesting. Your NIV then lists 'lust, evil desires, whereas the original Greek was closer to 'passion, evil desire' (NASB). This can get to be an extremely long discussion. The Greek word 'pathos' that the NIV xlates as 'lust' and the NASB xlates as 'passion' means an affliction of the mind or 'whatever befalls one' as well as our current use of passion such as to be passionate about something. 'evil desires' is actually a closer meaning to 'lust'.

1Pet 4:3 is very similar. If you want we can go in to a detailed discussion of this (and the other verses).

So, to the best of my knowledge, there is nothing in the other two verses you've posted that changes my original comments.

To your final questions. Yes, I am a pentacostal, no, this is not pentacostal teaching :). I am an anthropologist and a journalist which means that I'm also a bit of a historian with alot of my focus now on Biblical anthropology and history.

If I understand your post correctly, you are suggesting that it is perfectly fine to have a "concubine" aka unmarried woman, whether you are married or not married, and that in doing so, you are not committing a sin against God or against her.

Please correct me if this is not what you are suggesting, and if you could, please keep your response down to a minimal level. Less is more. One paragraph should be sufficient. One to two sentences (at most, one paragraph) should be sufficient.

The bible says that what you are suggesting as "alright" is infact, not alright. It is infact, sin, which will lead to separation from God.

God's Reaction to Adultery

Perhaps the most well known act of adultery recorded in Scripture is when king David took Bath-sheba the wife of Uriah the Hittite. The woman became pregnant and the king sent Uriah to his death. The story is recorded in 2 Samuel chapters 11 and 12.


What was God's reaction to king David's sin? He was ANGRY.

2 Samuel 11: 27: ... the thing that David had done displeased the LORD. God sent the prophet Nathan to David with this message: ... 2 Samuel 12: 9: Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

King David repented deeply. He confessed his sin and Yahweh forgave him: but the inevitable results of David's sin could not be reversed. Later his son Amnon raped his half-sister Tamar and another son Absalom committed adultery with David's concubines on the same palace roof from which David had seen Bath-sheba bathing. David was pardoned for his sins. He will be in the kingdom of God. But he was unable to reverse God's punishment for his adultery and murder. These are facts of history.

Prophecies about Adultery

The Most High has not changed. Even in this generation He sees, He notices. Nothing escapes Him and He punishes those who disobey His commandments. Let all who read the following prophecies about adulterous behaviour - beware!
Jeremiah 23: 10: For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
Jeremiah 23: 14: I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
Jeremiah 29: 23: Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.

Spiritual Adultery

Spiritual adultery is the act of mixing truth with error; incorporating pagan worship in the service of the LORD God of Israel. Spiritual adultery is infinitely worse than physical adultery. Alas! it was found in ancient Israel and is currently practised by almost every Christian denomination. For details see Iniquity in the Church. Jeremiah 13: 27: I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Conclusion

What about practicing adulterers: is salvation possible for them? The answer is yes. Forgiveness and salvation is possible for all sinners who repent and forsake their sins: no matter what those sins may be. But no one should delude themselves into thinking that the Ten Commandments are obsolete and that acts of adultery - albeit fashionable - are going to be ignored by the Almighty God. They will not. The Day of Judgement is fast approaching when every unpardoned sin will be punished. This is the day of Salvation. Do not let it slip away and find you still sinning; because adulterers, fornicators, homosexuals etc, will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Apostle Paul writes this warning:
1 Corinthians 6: 9: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind. (Homosexuals)

Fornication

Introduction

The Oxford dictionary defines Fornication as 'voluntary sexual intercourse between an unmarried couple.' Notice the difference between fornication and adultery. If they want to fornicate, why shouldn't they be allowed to go ahead and enjoy themselves? Who decides on moral issues anyway? Do you know? Do you care? Does it matter? I think it does. The tax payer is also concerned: or should be.


How does God React to Fornication?

In Scripture fornication is linked with whoredom: both acts are strictly forbidden. Consider Yahweh's reaction when the men of Israel began to commit fornication with the women of Moab. Twenty four thousand Israelite men were slain by a strange plague sent by God. It was only the prompt action of Phinehas the grandson of Aaron the priest which stopped that awful slaughter. Here is the story.
Numbers 25:
1: And Israel abode in [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]tim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2: And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

Prophetic Warnings to Fornicators

The Bible contains many prophecies about the fate of fornicators. Popular opinion will count for nothing on the great Day of Judgement. Smug, knowing smiles will then be wiped from every face: and ignorance, for those who read this file at any rate, will cease to be an excuse.
Rev.2: 14: But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15: So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16: Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were reduced to ashes for sexual sins. They are set forth as an example of how the Almighty God reacts to blatant disobedience.
Jude 7: Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
The people who lived in Noah's time were also blatant sinners. They laughed at Noah's warnings. To them he was an old fool, prattling on about on-coming judgement. Free-love was in fashion at that time. Fornication, adultery, sodomy and sexual excess were the order of the day. But God was not pleased. He wiped out the ancient world because of their refusal to give up sin. It is the same today. Millions scoff at divine warnings. And yet, a terrifying slaughter of souls is just around the corner! Here is what Jesus Christ says about our generation:
Matthew 24: 37: But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39: And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Fornicators will not enter the Kingdom of God

The Apostle Paul was also very clear in his stand against fornication, adultery and homosexuality. His prophetic warning to fornicators, adulterers and homosexuals reads as follows:
1 Cor.6: 9: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind. (homosexuals)


The Law of God

Human beings are incapable of formulating moral laws. Actions considered acceptable in one country are condemned in another. Even the generations within a country have different opinions about what constitutes good moral behaviour. Parents argue with disagreeing teenagers, teachers with pupils, authorities with the population. Everyone it seems has his/her own opinion on what constitutes good moral behaviour.


But I repeat: Human beings are incapable of formulating moral laws. Because of this fact we must needs look to God - the one who created us in the first place - for guidance on what constitutes good moral behaviour. Here is what the Almighty says, yea commands, concerning this matter of adultery.
Exodus 20: 14: Thou shalt not commit adultery. (This is one of the Ten Commandments)

Leviticus 18: 20: Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.

Proverbs 6: 32: But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

Leviticus 20: 10: And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.



Fornicators will not enter the Kingdom of God

No matter how popular fornication is, do not be foolish enough to try it: and if you're already involved, then repent immediately and forsake this soul and society-destroying sin. Marriage is the best safeguard against fornication. Get married if necessary; but do not fornicate. It may be exciting; but it is deadly. Most certainly no one should entertain the idea that he/she can fornicate and get away with it. The Day of Judgement draws near. Keep that sobering fact in mind.
1 Cor. 7: 2: Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
1 Cor. 5: 9: I (Paul) wrote unto you in an epistle not to keep company with fornicators.
Ephesians 5: 3: But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints.
Romans 14: 10: ... for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11: For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12: So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Is Forgiveness Available to Fornicators?

Yahweh will forgive any sin, as long as the sinnner repents and forsakes that sin. But He will punish known sins that are not repented of, no matter how trivial those sins may appear to be.

Well i'd say if the wife doesnt put out enough then they need to use their imagination. And sometimes they watch it together just because its fun. Theres nothing wrong with it as long as they know its ok. Who cares what scripture says its not adultery as long as the partner knows what your doing in your spare time.

my responses to your possible reasons are:
for 1. there is no logic in that. they have a female body around them everyday, everynight, every minute. why look at porn when you have the real thing in front of you?

for 2. my response is kind of the same as one. why worry about getting something through multimedia when you have the real thing waiting at home for you and as a bonus, they actually love and care for you.

for 3. that's not enough just cause to look at porn. that's something the couple needs to work out, and the guy not look at porn. it isn't that hard to do if one makes a conscience about it.

for 4. i don't get that. i never knew men felt the right to stare at some woman degrading themselves. that doesn't seem to me, what being a man is all about.

this is why i personally just view that men who look at porn while they are married, juste want to see it, either because they dont' have initiative to work out issues in the relationship, or two, they want to be pervs, and don't care.
