Sins are not defined by a list, but a disregard for God and His ways.

Jesus said to him,
" ‘You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul, and
with all your mind.
’
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV

Sin is the transgression of God's law (1 John 3:4):

The 613 Mitzvot - JMU

What exactly do these 3 mean?

93. Not to do prohibited labor.
(Leviticus 23:31)

94. To afflict yourself.
(Leviticus 16:29)

95. Not to eat or drink.
(Leviticus 23:29)

You should read the OT Law to get an idea of what was forbidden. Deuteronomy + Leviticus.

Some of the laws contained there are in reference to practices of the day and can be hard to understand. As an example:

Lev 21:5 They are not to have their hair cut off for the dead, or the hair on their chins cut short, or make cuts in their flesh.

There are also references to strangers and eunuchs not being allowed into the congregation of Israel in the law, yet God clarified that they were actually allowed in Isaiah. So the law must be taken at times in its cultural context.

Isa 56:3-5 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

Yet the law is where you will find GOd's commands.

The Bible is a large collection of books.
Where would one go to see a list of sins, with references to them?
Hello. It sounds as though you need the benefit of church membership which would bring with it study groups, pastoral advice, and the fellowship and help of a congregation of believers. Am I correct in guessing that you have no such affiliation at present?

Such a list is impossible, because there are as many possible sins as there are possible human acts.

One can sin by doing anything wrongly:

for the wrong purpose
with the wrong motive
with the wrong means
to the wrong end.

Anything can be a sin, because any good we do can be done wrongly -

- and almost anything can be done to the glory of God: the exceptions, are those things that are intrinsically wrong - one cannot glorify God by stealing, because stealing is an intrinsically bad act. But God can be glorified by our repenting of having stolen, because it is good to repent of one’s wrong-doing.

Since all human acts are tainted by human imperfection, even our good acts, such as turning from our sins, are flawed & fall short of the perfection that they should have: that is why we need a Mediator, Who is both God and man.

Matthew 7:12 is a very good summary from Someone Who would know.

New International Version
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

New Living Translation
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

English Standard Version
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 7:12 In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the Prophets.

Christ gave is this wording because sometimes we might want to slant (or put aside) some commandments, and this makes them more clear, and includes all.

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." I John 2:16

lust of the flesh:
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Gal 5

lust of the eyes:
Includes "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's." Exo 20:17, Eph 5

pride of life: we know this one.

Eve did not stick with what God said but did all 3 then ate the fruit as did Adam - "when the woman saw that the tree was good for foodi and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." Gen 3

These and any other verse can be looked up in a commentary or you can simply google them and find explanations.

The law that was given to the nation of Israel is summarized in the 10 commandments. There were a little over 600 specific laws given.

Jewish scholars expanded this to tens of thousands of laws with the Mishna and Talmud.

The problem is that one cannot have a rule for every aspect of life. Christians today are not under the law and so there is no specific list of "sins". Since we have the indwelling Holy Spirit, we are supposed to function not as law observers but as God followers.

Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Galatians 5:19-20 is a list with the emphasis on 'A'. If you read this it starts by saying that such things should be obvious and ends with 'and the like' so it clearly identifies that it is not an exhaustive list.

There is no such exhaustive list and part of the reason for this is that sin can be personal, i.e. it may not be sinful for everyone. For example drinking alcohol is not sinful in and of itself, but it is to an alcoholic who loses control and therefore it becomes sinful for anyone who encourages an alcoholic down the wrong path, even passively (i.e. not considering the struggles your neighbour has).

I'd actually avoid 'lists' of sins really. Go with the Greatest Commandment(s): Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind... and Love your neighbour as yourself.

If, instead of focussing on the negative, you focus on the positive you will find it easier to resist the negative. Seek wisdom.

Shalom.

Read Mark 12:
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.

43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

Rich men were doing what they were required to do, to make cash offerings, but they were showing off, throwing a stream of coins that would glint in the air and clatter as they landed.

Obeying rules for the wrong reason is as sinful as disobeying rules.

Jesus said, If You Love me, You will Obey my commands.

His commands are to Love God and to love other people.

Such a beautiful restating of Matthew 7:12 -- love fulfills the law.

The Law of Christ, as we read in Galatians.

"Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ."

There is no list of sins.

Sin is anything that misses the mark, anything less than what God justly commands. When we fail to love our neighbor, we sin.

And if we're being honest with ourselves, the reality is that we are basically big balls of sin walking around, and that sin infects everything--the way we think, the way we act, the words we speak, how we feel, and even infecting our own sense of right and wrong. It's the simple, but profoundly tragic, reality that we are sinners, we are broken, we aren't living God's way. Even when we are trying our best we are still failing to live God's way.

There are a lot of "big sins", lots of things the Bible explicitly identifies as sin. But there simply is no exhaustive list of sins, because there are as many sins as there are possible human thoughts, words, actions, and feelings.

And frequently, it's not the "big sins" that are the most dangerous, instead it is the little sins. It's the tiny things that begin to eat away at our faith, because we refuse to acknowledge that we have erred, that we have caused injury.

The drowning of the old man through repentance is simply part of what it means to live as a Christian here in this world. We must be actively vigilant in regard to our own selves. To be on watch and on guard against our own faithlessness. Of course that by itself would bear only the fruit of misery, of despair, ride, and spiritual death. As no one can be justified by the Law, and the Law continues to show us that even in our best attempts we fail. So while that vigilance against the old Adam at work through the disordered passions of our flesh is necessary, that does not produce faith. Rather faith always comes from outside of ourselves as the gift and work of God, and it is through faith that we are justified, apart from the Law, apart from all our works and striving to faithfulness and obedience to God's commandments. Our hope, our forgiveness, our peace, our life with God is found exclusively in the Gospel of Jesus Christ; and the free and abundant gifts which He pours out, giving to us unworthy sinners. By which God declares us just, forgiven, free, alive, and children of His own Household in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus said "And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." Mark 7
