What will we be doing in heaven? Does the Bible give any hints?

Forever is a long time.

The Bible describes in gruesome details what happens to people who are in hell as a place of weeping, and gnashing of teeth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What does the Bible say about people who go to heaven? What do people do in heaven? The Bible says that Jesus has prepared a place for us to live, but what will we be doing in heaven? Will we have jobs? Forever is a long time. And I'm wondering what we will be doing forever? and forever? and forever?

If you are really interested, you could get a book that I am reading right now called, "Heaven", by Randy Alcorn.

It is a fascinating book which he has written to give us a true biblically-based glimpse into Heaven. God has given us some direct and not so direct references to our real home, and Randy has painstakingly compiled a realistic and NOT fantasy-ridden picture of what we may expect.

Try it! You will NOT be disappointed! :tutu:

You won't be able to put the book down!

If this is the book you are talking about, I read the reviews of this book and they are excellent!

The book received high praises from it's readers.

Why would you want to read another book to get a biblical based insight of heaven?
How can he explain it better than GOD Himself/the Bible?
Just read the bible dude that's where you get the biblical answers to your biblical question, never go to an outside source unless the person got their info directly from the bible.

it is clear what is not in heaven...
nothing that pollutes,
no liars,
no thieves,
no perverts,
no republcns,
no capitilists(no greed of any kind),
no selfishness,
no self-pride,
no lusts,
no prescription drugs,
no one who looks down on others,
no one who opprresses the poor,
no one who closes their heart and home to the down and out,
...
check it out - read Scripture yourself, most pastors/priests/teachers won't ever tell you . . .

As you must have read, I said that Randy Alcorn has used scripture in an orderly way---having gleaned all references of heaven throughout the entire bible and put them all together for a complete picture. There is no extra-biblical material in this book.

That is a phenomenally difficult task for someone to devote so much time and work on. Not all of us can do that. Randy Alcorn, through his life and ministry has been taught by God many truths concerning the subject. Who better for God to ask to perform such a task, than he? This topic is one that Randy is an expert in.

God is in the business of raising up experts! :tutu:

That is a very good question to ask actually; it is one I myself have wondered about.

Thank you Floatingaxe; you have actually gotten me interested in this book, and I think I will read it. :)

I believe that heaven is going to be more wonderful than words can express and that we can describe. I think we will be worshipping the Lord in heaven and enjoying perfect fellowship with each other. Other than that, I don't know what we will be doing.

Wonderful is an understatement...

You know everytime I meet someone online that says "See ya there!" or something like that, referring to Heaven, I smile so big because I REALLY do want to meet them! It makes me curious and anxious as to who they are and its going to be exciting when I finally meet ALL of you!

Praise God!

May He bless you all with good things; go Under the Mercy and peace be with you.

Love,

Cru

actually according to the bible, we won't spend eternity in "heaven" as people imagine it anyway. According to the bible there will be a new heaven and a new earth and new jerusalem will descend out of heaven upon the new earth and God will dwell with man upon the new earth.

Undoubtedly that will be paradise, but its not all clouds and floating around with harps. It will apparently be an actual world, as God originally intended the world to be.

So we'll live our lives in eternity? will there be relationships? new children? or a giant genderless community?

I hope its more than singing and the things described in the bible >_> I'd get bored too soon.

But being bored is better than burning forever I suppose, which was why I was saved in the first place years ago.

Why would anything so wonderful be boring? God is there, and He created us for that life in the first place! It will be more like home than here! Trust God!

He knows what turns our crank! :tutu: :tutu: :tutu:
