It clearly says in the Bible that before the fall of man, God's creation was entirely vegetarian. Why do so called "Christians," who claim to follow Jesus, promote killing by eating animals? The message of Jesus was to love, not kill.

Fundamental "Christians" believe in the words of the Bible. However, they continue to ignore the very first instructions of God:

From The Book of Genesis:
1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

God's commandment not to kill was meant for humans not to kill humans. He specifically told Noah that he could eat meat after the flood (just not meat with the lifeblood still in it because that meat is unclean). Read Genesis and you'll get a better idea.

That was after man's fall. Animals were also vegetarians before the fall as well. Creation was perfect, then man decided to play God and started killing things for use as food. Man fell because he disobeyed God's commandement to NOT EAT MEAT. The first chapter of Genesis is all you need my friend:

1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Well, the Garden of Eden wouldn't have been much of a "Paradise" if Adam had to duck carniverous animals all day now would it?

Besides, wouldn't getting eaten sort of result in the thing eaten being dead? This doesn't apply to plants because plants tend to grow back as long as the roots are left intact. Were things supposed to be able to die in Eden? I didn't think so, therefore the rule about not eating meat makes a lot of sense.

However, after the fall things sort of changed didn't they? A simple pedator to prey analysis would sort of indicate that if animals didn't eat each other, the world would be knee deep in rabbits pretty quick. Or more likely meat eaters would evolve because the only food around would be rabbits!

Same with men. Before the era of the local supermarket you sort of tended to eat whatever you could get hold of. Plant, animal, fish, whatever.

So is your point that now that we have the local supermarket we should go back to the diet of Eden? Why?

Man fell because he disobeyed God's commandement to NOT EAT MEAT

That's why the fall happened only after they ate of the forbidden FRUIT of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Oh and no meat was eaten before that (at least none recorded, heh).

Where do you get that from?
Where does it say that Man fell because he ate meat? The scriptures you provide do not say that Man fell because he ate meat.

That is just plain ludicrous. I am sure you are reading some silly peta pamphlet to get this info. but it is wrong. Think of the 5000 that Jesus fed with fish. How about the day when he made fish for His disciples? How about when God sent down a sheet filled with "unclean" animals and told Peter to kill and eat? Come on, put down the peta books and think.

I don't know how many times I have posted this, but here it is again:

"He saw heaven opened and something resembling a large sheet coming down, lowered to the ground by its four corners.

In it were all the earth's four-legged animals and reptiles and the birds of the sky.

A voice said to him [Peter], 'Get up, Peter. Slaughter and eat.'" - Acts 10:11-13 (NAB)

So for Christians, it should be pretty self-explanatory here. And please do find that Bible quote where it says that man fell because he consumed flesh. Pray do find it... ;)

Vincent

Yes, looks like Christians like to believe that meat is good for us.
However, the rest of the scientific world 15 years ago, 1990, concluded that meat is not healthy and that it is the cause of most modern diseases.

Seems like our God made a mistake and prescribed a diet that kills us.

Hm hm.

And, oh yes, He decided it is good for humans to eat meat after the flood because there wasn't anything else to eat. Animals were portable food.

You surely don't believe we will spill blood and pain in heaven to fill our stomach.

Did you guys ever visit any slaughterhouse? You know, the big place that on the inside looks and sounds like hell?

Well, that's were your food comes from. why don't you visit sometimes? See what your eat and then pray God to give you more.

Christians NEVER like to be reminded that meat is bad. NEVER. They are sooo attached to eating corpses that no matter what the world says, they will still fall for the smell of the burning dead animal.

Even God thought you're despicable when He crossed you over the Egypt, sending birds and death one after another, because He couldn't stand your annoying "Gimme some chicken, gimme some meat".

Shame on you.

Well, eating meat is natural. It provides vital nutrients that help us think faster (makes connection between slower minds and PETA). I mean if we werent meant to eat meat, then why would our bodies benifit from it? Also, it was COMMANDED in the old testament that in order to make a sacrifice, they would have to kill a lamb or goat. Also, its not thou shalt not kill. its thou shalt not murder. (there is a difference since hebrew has like 6 different ways to say murder. the one in the original torah is murder not kill. as we know, many wars were commanded by God) Yes God provided plants as meat but thats because there was no death. once death became an option, meat was able to be eaten.

That is the most craziest thing I have ever heard.

Why are humans made of out meat? Other animals such as Lions and Bears could view us as food also. We have all the organs that animals have.

The way I see it is that apparently God let our bodies evolve to where we need protein and since meat is an important source of protein, we have become omnivores. And in all honesty, whether or not God created us as vegetarians to begin with is questionable. God used evolution to create us. He let evolution do it's work and he guided the process if it needed to be guided. So, depending on how the theory of evolution works, we may or may not have originally been vegetarians. I honestly doubt that we were because hunting was an important source of food and it would have been hard to find greenery during the winter unless all the humanoids migrated to the south in the winter.

You can get protein source from alot of different plants and vegetables and soy products. Protein doesnt just come from animals. And plus when you eat meat....you have to watch what you eat...same as with being a Vegetarian.

Humans just think we need meat to survive. We don't need meat. Alot of people can say "look at the skinny Vegetarian" Alot of Vegetarians can say "look at the skinny meat eater" My son was raised Vegetarian and he is living a healthy life. He is four.

You said we might not have been Vegetarians....in the Garden of Eden.....G-d instructed us to eat only the fruits that fell off the trees. So that was G-d's plan for us in the beginning and humans just messed it up just like they are continuing to mess it up now.

We don't need meat...I think people are just addicted and can't stop eating meat. That's just my opinion.
