It isn't, least of all Catholicism, but Protestants have a significant hurdle to overcome which is the inaccurate prejudicial teaching they hear from pastors and books and comics against the Catholic Church.
I think there is a lot that can be learned by studying what happened to the Waldensians by the Catholic church. I don't see that as a hurdle but an awakening to how a denomination can become very twisted and corrupt if they are not careful.
