poor night owls. lol. i used to be one. but now i go to bed when it's dark. yet sometimes i wake up in wee hours and can't get back to sleep.
Are you, then, in sin when you wake up? what is the importance of stating that you go to bed when it gets dark?

I believe it is a sin to avoid/reduce sleep for no important reason. Because when you sleeping less your body gets "broken", weak and probably die earlier.

Seriously??
Yes, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit; that doesn't mean we all have to have the same amount of sleep, or that if sometimes we have less than we are used to, it's a sin.

The amount of sleep we have is not even hinted at in Scripture and has nothing to do with our salvation or relationship with God.

Saying that some have jobs that force them to stay up late...... does not make this not a sin. Neither are the following solid arguments: "I go to bed early therefore going late is a sin," or " I have to stay up late because of my job, therefore it isn't a sin" or "people do good things late, therefore it isnt a sin"

When searching for truth, one cannot assume that the position they are in is automatically safe. This is the position taken only by those who wish to find fault in others.....not one desiring truth.

The employment reason would make working in emergency and police departments a sin. Obviously, that is not true because they are some of the most important people!

Then we need you to clarify where you are coming from.

I actually did understand where he was coming from (Light and darkness and health-or so I think) I gave a somewhat facetious answer back because he made a widely generalized statement which is obviously untrue. A genuine question needs some support and specifics.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. I'm not saying it's a sin. I'm just saying that good coming from actions doesn't make it not a sin, and therefore should not be used as a valid way to answer this OP.

So if you had to call 911 because your house was burning down at 5:00 a.m. with four people inside (one literally on her death bed) were the police, firefighters, EMTs, and hospital workers involved sinning when they took calls and rushed to the house? If obedience is better than sacrafice, you would rather lose your 17-year old daughter in a house fire than watch firefighers do everything they could to estinguish it.

This is a true story. The girl died, her mom was injured, and the house is just land with trees now.

This question should be addressed to the OP, who seems to believe that there could be sin in ones sleep habits. I said nothing of the sort. I only stated that one personal preferences, or the good that can could from not sleeping at night, is not a valid reason to determined whether or not it is a sin.

Are you saying that something, sacrifice is better than obedience? even though the bible states that it isnt?

people who work at night are exceptions
we talk about the majority of people
What I say to one, I say to all. If you have found exceptions to your belief......then it most likely isnt truth.
