have you guys heard about this preacher called Sid Roth, does anyone know anything about this guy? He seems to be one of those hyper-charismatic ones...

I just wish to get an opinion on him from some rational peopleNever heard of him.
In my experience it is really rare that Orthodox know about the latest fad in Protestantism. We run in very different circles.
Why do you ask?
If I may say..He has a program called "It's Supernatural". He is Jew-turned-Messianic Jew (i.e., a Judaizer), "promoting keeping all the Jewish Feasts (or at least the "Fall Feasts"). His theology is also Word-of-Faith (both of those - Judaizing and Word-of-Faith - are catching on quickly in many Evangelical circles, and often if someone is one of those, they are also the other).
Sid Roth from what I've heard/studied on the man, is Messianic Jewish and has a very great love for the Jewish people.... but very much of the type that's Hyper-Charismatic (more here and here /here) and has been called on a lot of it before by other Charismatics. Don't really tend to keep up with him much due to how it often seems that he's a bit out there on some things, although I'm thankful that it doesn't represent every single person involved in the Charismatic movement at all points since many others have been far more balanced than that.have you guys heard about this preacher called Sid Roth, does anyone know anything about this guy? ironic enoguh ive never heard a messanic Jew being called a judizer, its mostly SDA and herbert armstrong's church that seems to get this insult
I saw the name and it sounded like a made-up name. I ran it through the anagram mill and came up with "Dis Thor" - perhaps a subtle attack on paganism?
OK, OK, I'll shut up...
Please forgive my generalization.
I just now peeked in here. I thought this thread by the title was about some rock band. Shows how much I know. Sid Roth...Skid Row....![]()
It's all good in the hood..Please forgive my generalization.
More than understand, as I've had the same situation sadly with others doing things in the name of "Messaianic" or "Jewish cultural study" that wasn't even remotely close to what the scriptures/history showed. And not surprisingly, most of that paticular group is Gentiles (more shared here and here on that issue of what I faced with them). My wife and I have some family who are both Messianic Jews (although they're not Hebrew at all) and rabid Judaizers, and they're very vocal about it. So I tend to automatically link the two together in my head.
