Depends on what the directives are. The SDA church authority is based on the bible and the SOP which the church officially recognizes. GC has administrative leadership over the structure, however when its practices violate the biblical principle, it has no more authority over its members than a common man.

Not really. I have given up my church positions over disagreement on the church practices. I will actively pursue the possibility of an independent ministry. I don't think I have ever let fear stop me from doing what I believe is right.

I think the SDA Church may also be concerned over the fact that SDAs really don't have control over their own forums here, therefore, I can't really fault them for that.

I think that only two or three of the six of us listed here as moderators are actually members of the SDA Church.

This is not the SDA Church, nor is it officially affiliated with the SDA Church. It's a discussion forum owned and controlled by non-SDAs. Even the moderators and administrators don't have that much control over what happens here because the owner can change the way things are done at any time, as we've seen recently with the 777 upheavals and then the changes by Lee.

Offshoot? by whose definition? I won't start my own group/church. I'm comfortable with who I am and what I believe. I don't need approval from anyone.

I guess that is really what I am trying to say in that the church is probably concerned over the fact that it isn't even a SDA member owned forum, as most of the other SDA forums are.

The church shouldn't expect to control all online discussions of Adventist beliefs.

Hey Daryl--I don't recall if it was you or some other mod that nailed me for using the word 'offshoot' because the progs didn't like it--and now tonight I've seen three progs refer to and use that word. I thought "offshoot" was a RV! Why can they use it and not me?
