So can I assume that you haven't got any evidence, historic or scientific, that suggests Noah is no more than myth?
First of all IF Noah was not a real person then he would be a archetype not a myth. What is amazing with God is that He is able to use real people as an object lesson for us to learn from. For those who do not know God they do not realize how God is able to do this. It would not matter if Noah was a real person or not because the lesson we learn from the story remains the same. Perhaps you would like to demonstrate some understanding and explain to us just what the story of Noah is all about and what the lesson is we are to learn from that. So what is this story all about? Just what is the deeper spiritual meaning? Do you know, do you understand?
"At the time of Noah, the earth had become corrupted. God wanted to cleanse his creation, so he devised a plan to flood the earth and rid it of its wickedness. And why was man considered wicked? Genesis states that man was wicked because his
thoughts and imaginations were evil (Gen 6:5)." So maybe, just maybe the story of Noah would be a very good story for people with a reprobate mind. Because that is exactly what we are dealing with in the story. We are dealing with the destruction of a people where every though and every imagination were evil. So the story of Noah then becomes a stumbling block for them because they are not willing to use the story to examine themselves.
People need to let go of the sin that holds them back. So their brain can work the way God designed their brain to function. So they can put off their primal nature and evolve into or become the people that God intends for us to be. Jesus paid the price so we can be born again and a new Creation in Christ. Putting off the old and putting on the new nature.
"The writer to the Hebrews tells us that "Types" are but the
"SHADOW OF GOOD THINGS TO COME, AND NOT THE VERY IMAGE OF THE THING." Heb. 10:1. That is, the Old Testament "Types" are but
"SHADOWS." But there cannot be a "shadow" without some
"REAL THING" to make it. And a "shadow" is not the
"very image of the thing,"for a shadow is out of proportion, and is an imperfect representation of the thing it reveals. So the Old Testament Types are
"shadows" in the sense that they are not the
"Real Thing," and are but imperfect revelations of it."
