And on that we disagree. I've seen the video too.
You have some bias here. You don't approve of Biden's stance on abortion. But that's not the issue that I brought forward. The issue is what was Biden's intention when he made the sign of the cross. That's the focus. Read this below and take another look at the video with an open mind.
I played the video for some people at a family gathering. We slowed it down. We played it many times. We looked for body language, and facial expression indicative of why and when the thought came to make the sign of the cross in relation to what was being said at each exact moment.
This is the timeline in words:
"....Where Ron Desantis felt like he needed to run for president and so fifteen weeks wasn't..."
Everyone could clearly see that Biden showed a facial reaction which looked like a small smirk with a dismissive backwards nod of the head which ended in a small grin. This happened AFTER hearing the words, ---> "Ron Desantis felt like he needed to run for president"
The smirk and dismissive nod lasted three quarters of a second and began and ended during the words---> ....so fifteen weeks....
Biden begins to make the sign of the cross at the very beginning of the word ---> ...wasn't...
The average person comprehends about eight syllables per second.
The unanimous conclusion is Biden was responding to the thought of Desantis running for president and was mocking Desantis, not God.
Well you did say some things about me that were quite judgmental.
Sometimes, we simply misunderstand people.
Just generally obtuse. Like in the way you slid around for so long finally telling us you were a Lutheran after seemingly hiding it so cleverly.
I'm not a Lutheran and I'm not slithering around hiding it so cleverly. If you must know, the term Catholic literally means Universal; It's an all-encompassing term. I take that term literally and I didn't want to offend you or anyone else in this forum by implying it's only a label.
You know, one carnal mind thinks I am of Apollos and the other carnal mind says I am of Paul. So, I told you from the outset, I am a member of the Universal church in unity through the Holy Spirit. I am not of Luther nor Peter.
No. I can't declare who is in or outside the body of Christ. I just know the Church, his body, is in unity through the Holy Spirit, the True Image of God, His Christ.
I'm wondering if your politics is out in front of your faith concerning Joe.
I just don't like seeing people being deceived by propaganda and spreading propaganda.
You seem very defensive of him and very critical of others who aren't.
I don't recall ever having been critical of people who don't defend Joe Biden. I've been critical of people who attack Biden unjustly. Bottom line is I defend facts, and when it comes down to prejudice, I defend positive prejudice.
My politics is such that I am not beholden to either party. I don't have to make one look good when they are not good. I don't have to make either of them look bad either as they pretty much do bang up jobs of that themselves. But Joe says he is a Catholic. He has put himself ostensibly under the authority of his bishop and of the pope. The same pope who says having an abortion is like hiring a mafia hit man. If Joe were a Lutheran or something he would still be wrong in his abortion advocacy but that would not be a Catholic issue. As it is, Joe holding his abortion position while still saying he is Catholic is a scandalous situation. Some of us want it remedied in the most irenic way possible, by him changing his view on abortion. Then he makes the sign of the cross showing to all of us that he want's God's blessing on preserving and expanding access to abortion. You don't get that. That's fine. You've already moved on, and depending on the kind of Lutheran you are maybe abortion is OK with them.
I'm not a Lutheran. I'm a member of the Universal Church, the body of Christ in unity through the Holy Spirit. I believe every woman should carry a pregnancy to term because I truly believe she will be glad she had the baby. But try not to misread me just because I don't want to condemn anyone.
