I went with my son tonight. The most emotional scenes for me were the last supper and the crucifixion. Overall, I found it to be a well done film, but there were some inaccuracies that took away from it a bit. There were also a few things they left out or did not mention in key scenes that I thought would have made it better.

I found myself constantly thinking about what I knew was wrong in the first part of the film, which was disappointing. When they got to the last supper, that disappeared and was replaced with the emotion of the final part of the movie. But still - I think the lack of agreement with the Bible takes away from the potential of the movie for non-believers.

I also did not like Roma Downey portraying Mary in the last part of the movie. Every time I saw her - I kept thinking "That's Roma Downey." Her face has the look of plastic surgery, so to me she stood out too much versus the many other relatively unknown actors in the movie.

Thanks Tigger and USC!

I might pass until home video, it costs a small fortune these days to spend the afternoon or evening at the movies.

Hmm.. every time I see your nic, I hear the Trojans fight song. lol

People need to be aware that just because its about Jesus does not mean its accurate. Its based on Romey Downey (the actress) denomination which is roman catholic/new age. So at least for me I know it will clash with my beliefs. Just as the Passion did. So make sure you research these movies and see if its along your belief lines or not.

I watched this with my wife last week. The movie took liberties with the Biblical text, adjusted the chronology of the gospels, and portrayed a very Evangelical Jesus. It slowed down noticeably the closer it came to the crucifixion. Overall, not a great movie; I would not watch it again.
