I like to google list ideas like this - 100 Fun Things To Do With Your Family

There are endless things out there to do!

Romantic times I think about like walks on the beach, laying out a blanket and looking at the clouds/stars, having a candle lit dinner and dressing up formally for it, going on walks around the park..

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head!

Maybe you are outdoorsy.....
We used to ride our horses in the forest. We'd take our bedrolls, a couple thermos of hot coffee, and finger foods. We'd ride all day watching the wildlife then cozy up under the stars for the night. That was romantic for us.

thinking back to when we were first married, husband would surprise me

came home from work and he'd made a heart shaped pizza from scratch....thought that was romantic

another time I came home from work on a friday, he told me to put on comfortable shoes, that we were going somewhere
he drove us to the airport and had booked us an overnight trip in another city
(we never did that again but it was a super cool surprise)

those ^ were during first yr of marriage

Depends what you like!
We have a camper bus that we are working on - lots of romantic moments as we work together ripping things off, building, planning and shopping for bargains. Collapsing with ice cream is usually a factor in there somewhere.
Then we go for micro-holidays in the bus most weekends- these are to local destinations because of our work schedules, but involve books, magazines, debating ideas, coffee, fish & chips, lots of cuddling, no phones or tv and always a beautiful view to wake up to. Sometimes we catch flies for my pet frogs, or collect beach stuff for the garden, or take photos.
We go to live music nights in town, music and art festivals, museums, art galleries and exhibitions, pecha kucha, volunteer work, author nights, fishing together, poetry readings, speedway, rugby (watching, not playing these days!), take dance lessons, work on sermons together or bible study. Anything learning and different - the more outside our comfort zone the better. We often look on Eventfinda or other websites to find interesting things going on.
We are professional photographers, so we go to all kinds of events like rodeo, marches, garden days, parades, steampunk picnics, sometimes paid, sometimes just for fun. We set up private R45+ photo sessions for ourselves too - if you're comfortable in your skin (and the studio is nice and warm), this is great fun.
Absolutely anything can be a date and romantic when you're with the person you love! We up the romance factor by being excellent to each other all the time, which keeps the physical side on the boil. :) Have fun! Find what you like doing together!

These are so sweet and fun! My hubby isn't much of a romantic or spontaneous guy like this, so maybe I'll have to do these for him instead!

Exactly. When we were first married, we often took walks to the park and would feed the ducks while feeding ourselves. ALOT changed a year later once bouncy boy junior hopped onto the scene! Still struggle with date nights 23 years later...

When we were first married, we would go out to dinner, movies, miniature golf, bowling, art museums, the zoo, hiking in various parks and forests, berry picking, went swimming and kayaking at a lake nearby, and walked around the mall and local historical sites. It depends on your budget and what kinds of activities you enjoy.

Now that we have a toddler, we take him to the park and do mostly outdoor activities like going to the cider mill in the fall. At home, for a "date night" we'll have a tasty dinner (either cooked or takeout, whichever you prefer), and then watch a movie. Sometimes the grandparents will baby-sit so we can go out for dinner, but we actually didn't do that in over a year.

More on the fun side than the romantic, but we enjoy playing disc golf. Most places do not have fees to play, so your only investment is a couple of generic disc golf discs (unless you like it and want to invest in all the other discs). And it is a social game if you want to go with friends or other couples.

We did Iron Chef nights were we picked an ingredient and used it to make a meal. Like we had Cheeto night, we made Mac and cheese, fried chicken, apple pie... It was fun.

We also have a list of 100 movies (each) we want to watch together. 10 years in, we are maybe 50 movies in.

I’m on a real Anthony Bourdain kick right now, so in a couple weeks we are going to go on a Bourdain tour of Mass and Maine. This summer we are also going on a Lovecraft trail... We researched the real-life locales of various stories by him and we are going to go find them.

In fact, there’s a website that talks about strange attractions in your area... I wish a I could remember what it’s called but my brain is just pfffffffffffffffffft right now. Anyways, we hit up that site all the time for ideas. We went to a graveyard where the guy was so terrified of being buried alive that he made a tomb with an elaborate escape system and a special coffin with a window into it that lined up with a window in his subterranean tomb... He wanted people to check and make sure his body was really there and, um, “breaking down as it should” every day for a year. You can’t see anything now, the glass is frosted and yellowed with age, but it was way awesome to see.

ETA: Atlas Obscura. Thanks to that site we learned some wild things. Another less morbid one was that there’s actually a ghost town about 3 miles from our house. I’ve lived here 36 years and I drove by it daily for like 4 years... No clue it was there until I saw it on Atlas Obscura. Sure enough, we checked it out and there it was. It was way cool.

My husband and I really need another one soon. He works thirds and a good babysitter is hard to come by. He isn't a big movie person like I am and a bit quiet. So I was thinking a walk in the state park would be nice. Just the two of us. There is a nice beach there too. I love my town. :)
