I agree that stereotyping people is wrong. All I am suggesting is that there is a difference between unfairly stereotyping people and using wise discernment. My only intention is to ask clarifying questions to better understand your point of view so that hopefully we can find a middle ground. At least, respectfully disagree. Based on the responses provided, would it then be accurate to say that it is wrong for women to be afraid when a homeless man approaches them at night? I would say that she is not stereotyping people, she is using wise discernment for her own protection. Can we at least agree on that?My answer to you is in Post #26.
I have been shown stereotypes are wrong enough times so as not to believe them.
I don't carry guns or live in fear.
Being a senior, I lead a prudent--but far from isolated--life. My adult children call me the busiest person they know.
