How can I stop myself being addicted to conspiracies ?

Ever since I was a kid I've rebelled against authority & I love to join all the dots.
I was only 10 years old when I tried to join the dots concerning the book of Revelation.

As I grew older I would buy any conspiracy book I could get my hands on & even joined forums such as 'David Icke' which was wrong as most members on there are far from being Christians.

It was only when I discovered that earth is flat that I truly became a Christian & have read the Bible numerous of times, & the fact that I should be dead right now if God hadn't give me a second chance.

I have truly prayed about my addiction but God has truly laid it on my heart heavy about the shape of the earth.

Maybe that might be the thing to encourage you to reconsider doing this....what I mean you know people write books and probably embellish a lot of what they're saying for effect. Truth of what takes place in life for the most part isn't usually as exciting as conspiracy books paint the picture of. Like you said yourself having no restraint from pulling away from them suggest the writers did a good job to peak your passion.

So why should you think he'd do that. If you're a flat earther I don't share your view but let's assume it was true. What constructive thing would it produce in your life or in the lives of others? First you even tell those around you what you believe you've now been categorized in their minds as a crazy person. And what advancement to the Kingdom of God can be brought out of perusing trying to make people believe it. You'd lose a lot more than you ever would gain. And Jesus didn't tell us to go out into all the world and tell them the world is flat. He told us to preach the spiritual gospel to get them saved.

replace this addiction by another do good works around you like Jesus did good works around him always.

Christ gave is this advice;
Matthew 5:29-30 (KJV): "And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell."

of course it does not mean to pluck your eyes out but it means to keep away from the source of your troubles, just do not buy conspiracy books or read on it on the internet and you will be fine also take it one day at a time, if you want to read conspiracies just say to yourself "NOT TODAY"

I would stick with areas that go against The Bible in areas of creation and in this area stay within what The Bible addresses. Other areas not directly connected to God's creation. Like the lie that people went to the moon, would be a indirect connection to creation deceptions.

Turn off your TV, radio and any other outside influences, pray and read your bible. Spend time with God and you will not be bothered spending time with anyone else or their lame theories...

So why should you think he'd do that. If you're a flat earther I don't share your view but let's assume it was true. What constructive thing would it produce in your life or in the lives of others? Conspiracies can be fascinating and, sometimes, even believable but, in the end, they really have nothing in them for a Christian to worry about because God has everything under His control. Satan has been trying to subvert God's creation from the time he deceived Adam and Eve and he is not going to stop his lies now when things are coming so much closer to the end of days. The powers of this world can scheme and plot, they can set all sorts of subtle plans in place to try and gain some advantage over... well... anyone or anything but our Lord just laughs at them.

As we come to know Jesus better the things we focus upon is that which we can do, with His help, to further His Kingdom and care for those who are a part of His family. When we read in the back of the Book (Rev 19 & 20) that we win all the other things people worry about are not so important.

Hope that this does not come across too simplistic but for a while the Illuminati conspiracy thing concerned me until I realized that it's God who is in charge and all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes (Rom 8:28).

I'd say, certainly with God's help, but you need to do your bit too,
If you don't want your mind to dwell on conspiracy theories, don't feed it with information on conspiracies. Stop buying the books, logging into the websites etc. Read Christian testimonies - yes, even from scientists who are Christians.

In previous threads you have told us much about these theories, quote the people involved and shown endless clips from YouTube, which you claim backs them up. And yet you seriously seem to believe that being vaccinated is going against the Scriptures and that anyone who is - and believes in a globe earth - is "keeping the devil happy". You have admitted that the shape of the earth has nothing to do with salvation, yet still say that it's best not to be deceived, or that "it may make a difference one day."
Reading the Bible is great; reading it alongside books on conspiracy theories and giving equal consideration to both, is not great.

Sorry, but I don't believe that he has.

God wants everyone to know him; to know that he made them, that he sent Jesus to forgive them and give eternal life so that they could be reconciled to their Maker. God wants us to receive his Holy Spirit - who assures us that we are God's children, is transforming us into Jesus image and gives us gifts so that we can tell others about him and build up his church.

The shape of the earth is not at all important and does not help with, nor affect, any of that - so God doesn't require us to know it.
Someone could passionately believe in, and teach, a globe earth. Someone else could, equally passionately, teach a flat earth. Someone out in a little known country who has had no formal education at all might not know, or care, what shape the earth is.
All of these people will be saved if they put their faith in Jesus.
None will be condemned by what they believe about the shape of the earth. That will only happen if they don't trust in the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

So why am I such an ardent believer ? I have prayed about this & God keeps on giving me more & more about the shape of the earth & how the earth is bigger than what we all think.

I know this has nothing to do with ones salvation but for me I just can't let go & feel a strong urge to tell the world how they are being deceived.

Maybe I should write book about the level earth.

Youtube (and other similar stuff) algorithms are not God.

Its a man-made technique to offer you the kind of content you consumed before. It pays more than offering you totally random content. When clicking on something, you are creating your personal internet content bubble.

Firstly, how do you know that that is God?
Learning about the shape, size of the earth is of very little benefit to anyone. It does not bring us closer to God. It does not save us, nor teach us his will, nor enable us to proclaim the Good News about Jesus to others.
It might do just the opposite.
All the time that you, and I, spend writing posts on here and having pointless arguments about Antarctica, is time not spent in prayer, reading the Bible of Christian testimonies.
All that time you spend searching on YouTube for films to back up your point of view, could be spent studying God's word, looking at Christian films and teaching DVDs.

Who would want us to spend so much time on unimportant things that we don't have time to read the Bible, grow in our faith and proclaim the Gospel - God, or the devil?

I know this has nothing to do with ones salvation but for me I just can't let go & feel a strong urge to tell the world how they are being deceived.

Being deceived about what? Not the Christian faith or the Gospel, that's for sure.

I am a Christian, born again, saved, filled with the Spirit and God's child. I believe in, accept and trust in Jesus.
I also believe in a globe earth.
If I came on here tomorrow and said "you were right all along; the earth is flat", I would still be saved, a child of God etc. etc. God doesn't tolerate me because I believe the earth is a globe - and he won't love me more if I say that the earth is flat. That is the same for everyone.

Christians are children of God. GOD is our Lord, master and Saviour. When we trust in God we have different values - like loving our neighbour, or that the first will be last and the last first, or that people deserve second chances and forgiveness, or that money and possessions do not give us status or security, or that we are worth more than what we achieve.
The world doesn't have those values; people are deceived into believing that if they achieve a lot or own/earn a lot, they will be worthwhile. They are deceived into thinking that if they do enough good deeds they will get to heaven - that they have to earn God's love.
They are deceived into believing that they haven't sinned - "everyone has sex before marriage", "everyone tells white lies", "it's normal to get drunk and have hangovers", and so on. They are deceived into thinking that all roads lead to God.

THOSE are things that people are deceived about - and they are things that will make an eternal difference to them.
The shape of the earth won't and can't.

Maybe I should write book about the level earth.
