Perhaps it's good that a Native American, Deb Haaland, is the new head of the Department of the Interior.

Wisconsin Menominee Forest teaches foresters how to sustain woodlands (greenbaypressgazette.com)

Not all Native Americans are practicing sustainable lifestyles, rather many are practicing explosive population growth. This paragraph is from Google:

Since 1960, the Native American population has exhibited explosive growth, increasing from 552,000 to 1,959,000, or 255 percent. The average annual growth rate of 4.3 percent, extending over a 30-year period, is demographically impossible without immigration.

a) What does this have to do with the Google Earth View of Deforestation?
b) If you want an answer to your off-topic subject, it's because more people identify as Native American on the US census. It has nothing to do with immigration. How can anyone be a native immigrant (an oxymoron)?

I started this thread. You can not dictate away freedom of the press. Intermarriage between Native Americans and other races happened. This increased their numbers as a marriage between a Caucasian and a Native American produced Native American offspring. This is evident by checking the race people on their birth certificates. Populations increased through childbirth and immigration. In this case there was a third factor, a race increased its numbers through intermarriage. Native American women have more babies than the average American woman. This does not bode well for sustainable timber harvests.

The poorest nations on earth have some of the highest fertility rates with an average fertility rate of six, some with more children, some with less children. I am aware population growth is not a way to prevent deforestation, overfishing, urban sprawl or poverty. Lust is a sinful desire for sex with unintended consequences.

All righty then...

a) I am not "dictating away freedom of the press." That is off-the-wall, to be charitable.
b) Intermarrying does not produce more Native Americans. That is bizarre!
c) you said, "Native American women have more babies than the average American woman." They also lose more babies than the average American woman.
d) You wrote, "Native American women have more babies than the average American woman. This does not bode well for sustainable timber harvests." What kind of reasoning is that (if you can call that reasoning)?
e) Finally, you write, "I am aware population growth is not a way to prevent deforestation, overfishing, urban sprawl or poverty. Lust is a sinful desire for sex with unintended consequences." I have no idea what you're trying to say. Deforestation, etc. has something to do with lust?? Really??

You seem confused. If a white person and an Indian produce a child, the child is 50/50 mixed race but they put Indian on the birth certificate. The child is a minority. It may seem bizarre to you, but they did not ask you to make the rules. These days they call these indigenous people Native Americans because people from India want to be called Indian.

I know someone who is 75% Caucasian and 25% Native American. They put White on his birth certificate. He is not eligible for minority benefits. Elvis Presley was part Native American, White - Non Hispanic. He was talented and people liked him.
