I recently heard Kenneth Copeland say that we already have our glorified bodies.

Does anyone have any insight into this statement, to include scriptural support.

Thanks!

hmmm. could be that a combination of scriptures could apply here....

mat 6:19&20 talks about storing up for ourselves treasures in heaven.

John 14:13 speaks of asking for anything in Jesus' name.

2Chronicles 5:17 speaks of being a new creature.

Genesis 28: 10-21, Jacob's dream, and God's covenant with him may also have some play in this.

what i'm thinking is that at the time of our salvation this new and glorified body is stored up for us in heaven awaiting the time when we need it, safe from any corruption. in the same way Christ's previously glorified body was was reserved for Him in heaven while He lived on earth, and was restored to Him when He returned to be with God. John 17:5

Well... scripture is clear that our glorified bodies won't die... "when this corruption puts on incorruption, when this mortal puts on immortality".

If you have a body that can die, then you don't have a glorified body yet. Period.

Again, I don't think I'm being much help to you. Please understand it is not my intent to confuse you. Let me see if I can clarify this so we can get on the same page.

What I think Kenneth Copeland was saying is that we have an immortal spiritual body right now. You just can't see it like you can see your physical body. If you are a born-again Christian, then your spiritual body has already put on incorrupt immortality which will be revealed as you shed your corrupt physical body.

I hope this helps you.

I don't know the source of your photo, but I think you have the right idea with the two illuminated people here.

ok, so far we're almost on the same page.

and here's where we differ, on the location of that immortal body. From what i understand, you are saying that it is with us but hidden by our mortal body, to be revealed at the resurrection.

what i say is that when Jesus was resurrected and when Lazarus was resurrected they did not have the glorified, incorruptable bodies. if they had, certainly it would have been remarked and noted in the scriptures.

only twice in the NT do we see Jesus with a glorified body; once on the Mount of transfiguration and again in the book of Revelation.

First of all, I'm only relating what Kenneth said and what I think he meant, but I'll admit that I'm arguing myself to take his position on this.

What i say is that when Jesus was resurrected and when Lazarus was resurrected they did not have the glorified, incorruptable bodies. if they had, certainly it would have been remarked and noted in the scriptures.

Lazarus was raised from the dead but could not have been born-again after he was raised because Jesus had not yet made salvation via the cross. This is why Lazarus couldn't have already had his glorified body.

only twice in the NT do we see Jesus with a glorified body; once on the Mount of transfiguration and again in the book of Revelation.

Jesus appeared more than one with a glorified body. A physical body doesn't pass through walls.

John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Even more importantly, if glorified means being sin free, incorruptabe, immortal, then Jesus always had a glorified body. His body wasn't sold under sin because of Adam's trensgression.

I know he told one person not to touch Him because he had yet to be glorified by the Father, but I don't think this is because He wasn't already glorious, but rather so he could present Himself spotless to the Father where the Father imparted and joined His glory to Jesus.

ok i think we're confusing two terms here--tranformed and glorfied.

transformed i will go along with for the post resurrection body of Jesus. but glorified only happens twice in the NT as i previously mentioned. And since your thread is on the glorified body...

noooo, because then He could not have been in all ways like us. I will agree that He had a glorified body, but He left that in heaven along with everything else when He came here to earth. it was not that He was incorruptable and thus could not have been tempted, but that He was tempted in all ways and yet did not sin.

Paul talks about the new glorified bodies in 2 Corinthians 5:1-5 (NIV)
1. For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down--when we die and leave these bodies--we will have a home in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. 2. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long for the day when we will put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 3. For we will not be spirits without bodies, but we will put on new heavenly bodies. 4. Our dying bodies make us groan and sigh, but it's not that we want to die and have no bodies at all. We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by everlasting life. 5. God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.

Sorry I haven't been on since I posted this.
I didn't do anything to it. I was looking to see if there were pictures of the rapture and when I searched this was one that came up. ^_^ It seemed appropriate to post here ;)

OH I see.

Well then it probably is :D ;)

BUT....

Where does the Bible say he was in all ways like us.
