While I personally don't agree with the practices of the Catholic church, I think there is are a lot of problems with it I do believe like all other Christian denominations that some of them are in fact, Christians. So what is a Christian in my eyes? I have the same beliefs as every other Protestant or Child of Abraham. A Christian will always have works (which Catholics sure do. There are several hundred million Catholic charities out there. My mom personally runs her own Catholic Charity.)

A Christian is someone who reads the Bible and takes the word of God seriously (again most of the denominations that dont subscribe to futurism do this) We dont just read the Bible, we live by it. It's a daily commitment to live out scripture even the "hard" stuff, even the stuff we dont like, or to put it in stupid Flanders's light "Even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff" ,it was a joke created by the writers of the Simpson's in actuality there IS no contradictions in scripture. A Christian lives for God and lives to serve God all the days of not only his life but eternity. We were not saved to remain stuck in our sins forever. We were saved to be slaves of Christ and to obey God no matter what the command.

We were saved into an eternal relationship with God to fulfill our original purpose when we were created. To love and serve God forever. Whenever I encounter a Christian who says "they're not slaves to anyone." I question whether or not they've read the bible. Humans were created to be servants to God and to do his will. Don't like it take it up with Jesus Christ one day and see how far that will get you.

Christian's were regenerated by the Holy Spirit to do all that God commands of them. To fulfill their purpose in life of why God created them in the first place and each and every one of us has our own unique roll to play in our lives. It wasnt just the Prophets. We all have our own separate unique work and purpose from God.

We were not created to live in sin. But that's what a lot of people claim. We are free in Christ to do whatever we want right? Wrong. You were saved to be justifed, sanctified, and ultimately glorified. In our sinless glorified bodies do you honestly think we can do whatever we want and disobey God? Of course not because disobedience is sin!

So where is this going? Idk. It's going to the place of all denominations will agree with what I'm saying. We are all children of Abraham and if you disagree with me you need to recheck your faith and whether or not you're truly in Christ. Like Christ said no works, no salvation. We are NOT saved by our works but a true concerted repentant child of God will ALWAYS have works.

I understand what you are trying to say. Yet I am adamant that Roman Catholics are Christians. Are they in error, yes. But still Christian. If one can recite the three ecumenical creeds meaning the Apostles’ Nicean and the Athanasian creeds they are Christian. There are many Catholic brothers on CF that I get after on their errors but i still consider them brothers.

Actual a Christian is one for whom Jesus is there saviour and Lord.
They are trusting in Jesus to save them and seeking to be obedient to his commands.

Church attendance, Bible reading, good works, believe in God etc are not proof one is a Christian.

In the OP Neostarwcc said "We are all children of Abraham and if you disagree with me you need to recheck your faith and whether or not you're truly in Christ." How modest! I wish that I was infallible like that!

As a Catholic, I can agree that I disagree with some peoples' practices who are Catholic. I don't understand things like passing around of relics, and some of the images give me pause. But practices are, simply, the way people worship. And that is a hugely personal thing, even among Protestants. How one worships depends largely on how one is brought up.
But there is a huge difference between practices, disciplines, and doctrines. Doctrines are church teachings which must be believed. Things like attending Mass on Sunday, belief of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, the Trinity, the Marian doctrines, and so on.
Getting to the point, anyone baptized as Jesus taught us, in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, is a Christian. It does not matter if the person is an infant, whose parents are supposed to make decisions for him/her, or an adult.

Ok that makes sense -- There are saved people in all denominations just like there are lost people in all denominations. A person is not saved/lost just because they do or do not agree with you.

and if you disagree with me you need to recheck your faith and whether or not you're truly in Christ. .

??? and then "if you differ with me you are not saved"???

Did one of the body-snatchers take over just right there at the end of your post?

Thing is, people have preconceived ideas of Catholicism.

Catholicism is truly Holy. One needs to look into it deeply without relying on those that hate the faith
