I meant that any gay cardinals as of today who joined the priesthood before it became socially acceptable to "come out" and "get married" after gay marriage was made legal, might have joined the priesthood to stave off suspicion that they were gay.

The problem is that I have read it several times. And so have many priests who have performed gay weddings supported, they claim, by FS.

No. But that the stigma of being homosexual and unmarried in the past should be a thing of the past because now they can get married. No ‘need’ to hide their homosexuality by being a priest. They can freely get married now. In theory then there is no more impetus for them to hide in the priesthood.

I don’t know. That’s a good question. Maybe because they knew they couldn’t act on their desires, so they went to the seminary? Again, I’m not saying that is accurate, it’s just a guess.

I think what bothers me is what little I’ve read about the Lavender Mafia. I’ve always looked up to priests and feel sort of let down that the Catholic clergy has that culture within it.

I have never attended any. Are you claiming that there never were any? There is video, you know.

And that’s the thing. Many present themselves as couples. They do not look like individual blessings. I’ve even seen priests wear rainbow sashes while doing so.

I mourn the death of Pope Francis as a person but not as a Pope. Does that sound cold? Oh well
(I say that because he is the one that did this blessing stuff of the same-sex couples)
