Can God make it like something never happened (an accident, an abusive situation, a natural disaster, an illness, a death, etc.)?

Here is an off-the-wall example, would God ever choose to wipe the memory of a negative event from all those involved so as to heal them of all signs of the trauma (physical, mental, spiritual) and make it like that negative never occurred (even though it did)?

What do you think? I mean, technically God can do anything, but does He ever choose to reverse time or wipe out the memory of a negative event so He doesn't even need to reverse time?

If He did, how would you know?

I believe it is possible. Read Joshua 10. Also the testimony of Joshua Mills. I'll add the link if I can find it.

I couldn't find it, but as I recall his wife slipped at the top floor and fell down the stairs breaking her leg. Joshua prayed that God would take them back 15 minutes so he could be at the top of the stairs to prevent his wife from falling. And it happened. I wish I could find that testimony. It was amazing.

2 Kings 20: 9-10 "Isaiah answered, this is the Lord's sign to you that the Lord will do what he promised: shall the shadow for forward 10 steps, or shall it go back 10? It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward 10 steps, said Hezekiah. Rather, have it go back 10.

Is God able to reverse time? God does everything. If He thinks it should be apart of your plan He probably would figure out how to reverse time for you. Otherwise, I think His plan is to truly show you how to live and learn in many ways. After some disaster happens, maybe He thinks that there is a divine plan for us all.. where if everyone had time reversed for themselves we would all be selfish.

I'm a believer in alternate realities and after really thinking about it.. things become too much for a person to really deal with in their life.

Just like I said before though, maybe it is apart of your plan and maybe it isn't. I'm sure He knows a way how to do everything yet He also holds judgement for us all beyond our comprehension.

In Joshua 10:13, God stopped the motion of the sun and moon, so we know He certainly has control over it.:alarmclock: Although, everything that happens is meant to glorify God in some way. If a situation was completely reversed, it wouldn't glorify God, because no one would be aware of it.

I believe He is capable of stopping and reversing time completely, but that's not usually how He operates. However, in Heaven, God will set all things right - erasing negative memories and giving back completely what the enemy has stolen. Everything will be set right in Christ, and God will be glorified to the max through it.

Pretty much.

Okay, I'll answer.
He could reverse time and let you keep the memory of Him doing so (so that time actually remains linear and the memory is never erased, or something like that).

If God acts, doesn't that happen in real time? I do believe that the moment he created, time began. He is outside of time and cannot change in himself, but what changes happens in time. Nothing can change outside of time, just as God cannot change because he is not subject to time. For God to reverse something, it would be an act done in time.

If it already happened, how does it become non-existent in the past again? Sure, in our perspective it never happened, but in a real sense it did happen in an alternative world, and that cannot be truly erased...or can it?

It is above and beyond of our understanding.

God is not bound by His creation but is outside and above it. Similarly to how an author of a book is not bound by the internal laws of the book he's writing.

However, I think it's good to remember that God set boundaries in place, in the shape of time and space before the fall - before sin, death and corruption. So these boundaries were designed for our good. And also, even after the fall, consider how God stepped into His creation, time and space, when He lead Israel and even more visible in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. I think when we consider these things, we can see that, although God can and does work miracles that break the natural law, His plan of salvation and sanctification is made for us within the framework of time and space.

That's a long-winded way of saying, based upon Scripture, we can see evidence of that when God wishes to reverse something, such as sin, death and pain, it's not achieved by rewinding time, but corrected by some other means, namely the person and works of Jesus Christ who will make all things new. So, rather than lamenting the past, we can instead rejoice in the future, knowing that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

God didn't stop time, he stopped the sun (technically the rotation of the earth). If he did, then Joshua and all the men in war would have froze in time too.
