Jim's right! If you are a minister and get divorced, then have someone base an allegation against them. You should be wholeheartedly condemned!

I mean the nerve of a minister getting a divorce and then having someone accuse them of wrong doing. It just doesn't matter that the lawsuit was never proven - these bums are guilty anyway.

Still just lurking?

I'm curious, Jim, since I've been hearing you say this for around 6 years now...

Just how often does someone compare you to Jimmy Swaggart and/or Jim Baaker?

Six years, huh? Well, Mr. Archive Guy, I can't give you an exact number but I would say at least a dozen times over the years, the last time I recall was when we began our church. A fellow laughed at me and said, "So you're building your own little PTL money machine. Hope you don't wind up with your pants down."

Another time was when a printer refused to print some flyers for our AOG church because he said we were probably "just like Jim Bakker."

)-: Can't convince a person of your innocence in a situation like that.

A printer turning down a church account for religious reasons -- that's a big loss for him.

Tas, I am constantly amazed (and amused) at you. You seem to have no problem attacking anyone in this forum with all-fours when the mood strikes you or when you disagree with them (as I am sure you will disagree with this post) but you seem to have a real sensitivity in calling a spade a spade when it involves one of these self-anointed televangelists who bring shame to the rest of the Christian community because, like King Saul in the Bible, they seem to think they are above the rules that the rest of us peons have to follow.

Just because BH and PW have a TV show and a following supported by those PT Barnum said were born every day, does not make them untouchable. They have insinuated themselves into our living rooms and become public figures; therefore they are open to public scrutiny and censure just like any other public figure. If they can't take the heat they should get out of the kitchen (to quote another public figure). Just because these superstars call themselves "ministers" and do edited religious slight-of-hand in front of the camera does not mean they are religious (much less spiritual).

If I recall, BH applied for Assemblies of God ordination in 1994 and subsequently resigned a few weeks later because he couldn't handle the scrutiny (i.e., accountability.)

But, hey, I am all for giving these TBN stars plenty of rope.

~Jim
How much rope are you giving yourself in view of the fact that you will have to give an account of your own actions not Bennys or any other

Jim -Just for the record I was stopped from being with my own children because of a "family" law decision . Here is how it went:
Law: So you want to be with your children at weekends
Me: Yes
Law : Would you take them to church on Sunday
Me: Yes
Law: What church would that be
Me : A0G
Law: Never heard of them - thy must be a cult Therefore you cant have your children with you on Sundays.

Now that decision put a great wedge in family reltionships that is now over 25 years old. Am I bitter towards AOG for having such a bad name in the eyes of the uncircumcised. No neither do I blame the world and its system.
What does concern me however is the attitude of believers who are willing to do a Judas on their own to somehow make themselves look a little better than they really are.

Apparently I am not as concerned about my relationship with the Lord as you seem to be. He and I are pretty tight. :)

Very good!

Believing gossip, fuels the need for more. More gossip needs sources.

Sources are tabloids and media.

This creates jobs in forestry and telecommunications.

jobs in forestry and telecommunications need tradespeople and engineers.

someone else is needed to clean up the mess and help the displaced wildlife after the forestry cut down their homes for the magazines.

Open cut mines for coal too to fuel power stations.

Gossipers are helping with job creation but do the forests no favours.

Ps I hope they have a great life together and lots of kids in white suits.

Sounds like a great witnessing opportunity to me. I mean, what better opportunity to make clear that no one will be able to use lame excuses about what Jim Bakker or Jimmy Swaggart did on judgment day than when people are using those same lame excuses for you?

BENNY HINN: Let The Bodies Hit The Floor - YouTube

Religion's answer to Championship Wrestling :)

It is also in many other religions. The psychology behind those that drop to the floor or jump are the same all over the world. Most Christians have no clue why and how the tongues and bodily events happens. It starts when the brain bounce up and down producing a electrical current and in turn cause the tongue or body to respond.

I agree and have often wished I would have been better prepared but the printer caught me completely off guard and I was more humiliated than ready for a debate, much less a witness.

So, is this what happened in Acts 2:1-4 on the day of Pentecost?

Peace...
