Tas, I am constantly amazed (and amused) at you. You seem to have no problem attacking anyone in this forum with all-fours when the mood strikes you or when you disagree with them (as I am sure you will disagree with this post) but you seem to have a real sensitivity in calling a spade a spade when it involves one of these self-anointed televangelists who bring shame to the rest of the Christian community because, like King Saul in the Bible, they seem to think they are above the rules that the rest of us peons have to follow.
Just because BH and PW have a TV show and a following supported by those PT Barnum said were born every day, does not make them untouchable. They have insinuated themselves into our living rooms and become public figures; therefore they are open to public scrutiny and censure just like any other public figure. If they can't take the heat they should get out of the kitchen (to quote another public figure). Just because these superstars call themselves "ministers" and do edited religious slight-of-hand in front of the camera does not mean they are religious (much less spiritual).
If I recall, BH applied for Assemblies of God ordination in 1994 and subsequently resigned a few weeks later because he couldn't handle the scrutiny (i.e., accountability.)
But, hey, I am all for giving these TBN stars plenty of rope.
